Quote:Ah, yes. My son and I attended that one, too. We were still fairly new to the game and had little clue to what was going on. But it was free and it was fun.It was Howie's Game Shack on Saturday May 13, 2006. I only still remember because I was there, and spent about half of my time trying to get inside information out of the devs about upcoming stuff for the game. And then when I got back home, I posted everything I had learned on my SG message board. The post is still there, so I was able to look it up.

<sigh> I, unfortunately, have an appointment with Chuck E. Cheese's and won't be home until about 2 pm PST.
-
We've had a few successful runs blue sides on TFs and I'd like to see if there is anything of intrest, red side. Cap Au SF? Treespec? Any specific day or time? We seem to have a range of players in various time zones. It would be great if we could accomadate as many people interested as possible.
-
So, let's make it official!
Come join the MLC for a Katie Hannon Task Force this Friday, 2/5/10, at 7 pm Eastern, 4 pm Pacific. Donuts will be served. No charge for admission. See you then! -
Nice work on the base, Hype! Redside, we ain't so smanshy, but we are functional.
I'd like to propose a Katie run this week, as I'd like to get the accolade. My only week day that I'd be available at a decent hour would be Friday, so was thinking maybe 7 pm Eastern time. Any interest? -
I think he is referring to the Atlas Safeguard.
-
Redside base is looking pretty good now, too. We have added medical and the pillar. Next should be the rest of the beacons and the control to operate them.
-
Don't know if this is significant but might be interesting to see what you get by either clicking quickly several rolls in a row, and then doing it at a more leisurely pace.
-
I haven't move any permanent character - just used the transfers to move items around. I may use it to force a name change, but that's about it.
I've most recently been playing on Freedom, and while it is a nice change of pace, and I've really enjoyed playing with the people in our SG/VG's, it is definitely not home. -
I would say it moves, just not that quickly. As I worked my way through the 20's, everything I posted did sell, just took awhile.
-
It was a hoot! Unfortunately rolls I got from it were less than stellar . . . Look forward to the next one.
-
Thanks for the feedback Honcho - food for thought.
-
Darn - not quick enough by far - nice work Dolly!
-
Base is up redside- medical, and some workshop stuff - storage, crafting table, vault. Fury is making it pretty
.
We just need someone of higher rank to allow everyone access to the storage items. -
Villain side I'm Morsel but may be adding another character.
Hero side Phoenix edited the base adding medical (we are close to the first healing badge), and more storage, and adjusted the permissions so that all can access them. I suggested if we could have at least one TP to a popular zone, in case we are killed in a hazard zone - would be nice to be able to TP to somewhere else other than back to that zone. And I suggested more salvage storage. Since most of us are mid level would be nice to stock up on those pieces as that is what we will be using a lot.
Also I suggested nix the pillar idea since our coalition has it, and hope we can get the auto doc up since it would be great to be able to pick up and convert inspies after being killed, and selling off worthless recipes.
We are really moving along blue side. Now I need to start helping out redside. If the base hasn't been created when I log in tonight I'll start it up. -
I've run about 15 Lord of Winter rounds which can bring 8 to 10 merits each, as well as 3 freak olympics, 34 merits each, and some of my story arcs - Croatoa specifically. I mainly solo but have joined in some of the SG teaming.

Quote:Interesting analogy, and it gave me some thought. The biggest proc on my listed build - the Numina Reg/Rec - was obtained from a merit roll, and not pulled out from the market. And of the 14 merit rolls that I did, I am keeping 3 pieces because they fit what I hope I might need. The rest will be going to market. This looks like people who recycle because it's "good for the environment", but they also drive a Hummer.
Consider your "IO footprint" on the Market. I see healing uniques, LotGs, rare procs, etc. How much are you taking out of the Market to make these builds? And how long do you need to play these characters to have a net positive influence on mid-level availability of set IOs?
I have yet to even slot anything on my character except for level 35 SO's, awaiting feedback. Most of the expensive pieces I will probably have to wait until I get a lucky roll as I tend to be too cheap. So I would imagine I will be contributing more to the market to get those pieces through rolls then taking away or depriving by not selling. Will I have the nicer pieces compared to others? At some point maybe.
My goal is to get the most efficient build I can while contributing to this experiment. If you have suggestions on improving my build while helping the economical environment, I'm all ears. -
Being new to the Fire/Rad controller, and limited by my stopping level, I could use some advice and suggestions for my character, Riches. Thanks in advance!

Finally hit my stopping point of level 33. Along the way I earned about 32.5 million from sales of crafted recipes, and 340 merits. I promised myself I'd roll them all but I don't have enough room in the market slots and with what I can carry so only rolled 16. Here is what I got:
Aegis: End/Rech (Recipe).33
Aegis: End/Rech/Res (Recipe).33
Aegis: End/Rech/Res (Recipe).33
Ghost Widow's Embrace: Acc/Hold/Rech (Recipe).33
Glimpse of the Abyss: Chance for Psionic Damage (Recipe).33
Kinetic Combat: Dam/End/Rech (Recipe).33
Numina's Convalescence: +Recovery and +Regeneration (Recipe).33
Numina's Convalescence: Heal/Rech (Recipe).33
Obliteration: Chance for smashing damage (Recipe).33
Obliteration: Chance for smashing damage (Recipe).33
Pacing of the Turtle: Chance for Recharge Slow (Recipe).33
Perfect Zinger: Rech/Acc (Recipe).33
Positron's Blast: Chance for energy damage (Recipe).33
Positron's Blast: Dam/Acc/End (Recipe).33
Scirocco's Dervish: Chance for lethal damage (Recipe).33
Stupefy: Chance for Knockback (Recipe).33
Some nice ones, some not so nice ones
Now I have to figure out what I want to keep and what to sell.
This is the first Numina Recov/Rech I've not bought off the market so was pleased with that. The Kinetic Combat has 57 bids and one for sale, last few sales for about 20 mil, while the crafted piece, except for 1 wild purchase, seems to sell for around 10 mil, and only 4 bids. Posi's and Oblits are nice.
All in all a fun trip to this point - will see where it goes from here! -
Another idea might be if you have something of value that might better server some one else and you have no problem parting with it you can post on the forums it is available.

I think because of my own playing habits I tend to be patient with afk's, as long as we're told, and it sounds reasonable. I started playing this game a week before my youngest was born so had many a late night with "Sorry, AFK, gotta throw a bottle at the baby." I tried my best to not make it too much of a problem.
One time, after my daughter turned two, during one pug, literally at the same time a team mate and I had announced that our two year olds had just fallen out of bed. Everyone was quite understanding, or too drunk to care as I primarily ran on Pinnacle -
With what little time I've had because of work and the holiday season I've been spending my time trying to get to level 33 blue side. I've been using my son's account to PL a new red side character so I'll have a running start when I transfer him over. Hopefully after this weekend I'll have more villainous time.
