WB Crest ... my Warshade version of Thornster is stuck at 32 in the Envisionnairies ... but my brute, Maiden of the Pit was moved to Justice in the meantime and she dinged 50 last week. I still have a villain or two there and yeah a reunion would be fun.

Great job LJ! And I agree with Juggy ... progress shots are always fun!

Very fun stuff (That I somehow missed the first time around). You do know that with the amount you posted in just that first post you could have kept us going at one a week until the end of the year ... just sayin'
Great job! -
Well being an altoholic has drawbacks ... one is that there are long lapses of time where you have no character dinging 50 ... and then ... they all ding at the same time.
And so ... to commemorate one such recent event ... I once again had Alex chibi the toon in question. This time it is my dual blade scrapper, Starslicer.

Quote:Great job! And it's very funny because the same kind of story applies to me and for some weird reason those lines caught my eye too and I did slap some flats on them with the intention of seeing what I could pull off ... but I have other stuff to work on atm ... so I will get back to this later. Here's a link to my final version of a simple bikini piece: http://pyronympho.deviantart.com/art...1995236?q=&qo=

Welcome back 8Baller =) Happy to see you back ...

That turned out great Kat! Both their expressions are precious. Kat has a rounder face in this one ... it's fun to see. It fits a little better with the pose she is holding. Great piece!.

There is a nice Saturday Matinee Task force posted here every week (Wednesday or Thursday) for sign ups. Starts at 1pm EST.
There is also the Tanker Tuesdays on Justice every 2nd Tuesday of the month (unless I am mistaken).
Regular raids as Q mentionned. Join the global channels JFA2010 and/or Justice United for updates and information.
Oh and yeah ... don't let Philly Girl catch you ... -

I like to think that he is actually walking all over them because Blackthorn is really a dominator ... he doesn't have the "ask nicely" sissy attitude controlers have. (That doesn't make him brave, but he dominates what he can
)

I should have time for this, I have multiple options but lets say Electromotion my lvl 30 Elec/NRG brute.

as a ref, we were doing a mock vote in this thread if you want to join in on the fun.

Yeah I think a contest by TA isn't the same as a contest by ... lets say ... me.
Entering a TA contest gets you free "radio publicity" even if you don't win ... where as entering mine would get you free ... "small town city hall pamphlet" publicity ... which means basically not much.
So entering TA's contest still gave artists a guarantee of some exposure even if they didn't win. Plus as mentionned before, it may be a thank you note for stuff he has done for them and if there are few contests running at this time ... then it could just be fun.
To that you can add a question of timing (i.e. when school's recently out is better than the Christmas holidays).
A large enough prize should draw in a crowd (see what I did there) anyway, even if you don't have all the favorable circusmtances someone like TA has.
I saw in one contest, the organizer offering to draw 5 out of the non-winning worthy contestants and give them an amount worthy of the work they had put in. He was actually asking how much the pieces were worth when they were submitted. I does show some consideration for the time spent on those pieces but yeah ... it must make managing the contest much more of a headache and it raises the potential drama to a whole other level. -
I don't have time atm to comment on why I picked each but here are my choices for now. Just so we are clear ... picking 5 was very difficult ... my first cut left me with 14!
1st place - #65
2nd place - #64
3rd place - #49
4th place - #70
5th place - #5
Oh let me take a sec:
#65
Very clean, crisp with a great layout and it goes the extra length of including all characters involved.
#64
This one was very close to 65 I just prefered the crispness and composition of #65
#49
This one was all about mood for me. The art itself is really nice but the mood that it conveys is what sets it apart for me. (The floating fabric, the stone on a cloudy sky, the ambers floating up ... all of it)
#70
Eventhough the face strays a bit from the references, I wanted to applaud the guts of not including TA and giving this piece a great mood that is very appropriate for the character. The painting itself stands out too.
#5
Similar to #49, it has a nice mood but I think that this one has a very defined styled that worked well with the selected angle of the piece. -
Personally it was just the sheer amount of amazing art ... I didn't feel like it needed any comments. I was just watching the show!
I will take the time to review all the entries and find you a top five though (for the fun of it).
And as I said ... don't take the lack of responses and a judgement on the quality of those entries ... they are amazing. -

Oh btw in case some of you might have missed this, after I did 2 more of Sanchez's torso sketches, I looked back at the one I had done of Thornster and it looked like the worst one of the three. So using what I had learned from the other two and some comments from you guys, I went back and did some touch ups. That eventually became my Avatar, and with a few more touch ups, the piece now looks like this:
