Yeah, I was under the impression the List Merge would occur in late Summer... not with i20. However, both the OP and my boyfriend told me otherwise. Obviously we know who is right based on our Lists... but where did that other info come from?
-
I guess my only issue would be the overall price tag... while there are many recipes in there that aren't a big deal... some of them are more pricey than I really want to toss at a character I only play occasionally. However, thank you oh so much for putting that together for me, I shall have to check it out when I get home.
-
Yeah, not to pour it on or anything, but that's what I was thinking. Unless you were on the last mish when that happened, wouldn't it have been easier to disband, grab one more, and start again as a new (functioning) team of 8? I mean, for WSTs, people are swarming to be involved with them.
-
Quote:Hmmmm, I was really hoping not to go the Darkity/Dark/And more Dark route, just because of how sickeningly common it is... but you bring up some very solid reasons here for me to reconsider this...Well, dark mastery has dark consumption, which will pretty much end any endurance issues you have, plus soul drain (+dam, +tohit) and soul transfer (self rez) which makes things much easier to handle in the long haul. Dark embrace gives you some resistance, and oppressive gloom could stack nicely with some of your other stuns. (but i don't recommend it, that self damage can add up pretty fast)
First off, to end your endurance issues you want the +end accolades, those right there add 10 max end, and allows your performance shift proc to give another 1 end per proc (as its a 10% end, not just 10 end), but i'm pretty sure you already know that much
Yeah, I didn't think about KB at all. Upon thinking about it, if I am mostly teamed with other folks, like a tank and scrapper... would I really need the -KB? I mean, ultimately I wouldn't be holding aggro for long. Also, isn't BotZ rather expensive?Quote:off hand from what I'm seeing, if you have 0 KB protection, so you may want to change that fly speed in fly into a BotZ KB protection (plus the fly speed isn't giving you anything, as base fly + swift caps flight speed these days) and swap the def in hover into a karma KB. that'll get rid of about 85% of the KB in the game, without really changing over any slots.
Typically Hover is on 24/7... but I haven't played this character much lately, essentially I am pulling him out of moth balls for the purpose of getting his build better and speccing into Inherent Fitness... I figured while I'm respeccing, I might as well make him nifty.Quote:Do you hover blast a lot? or do you normally just throw tar patch, put darkest night on the toughest thing there and let fluffy has his way with things while you nuke stuff down in melee or near melee range?
So, I imagine I will do a bit of both, depending on where my allies are so that i can position well for heals and rezzes and to hit as many folks with Shadow Fall as I can.
Yeah, I don't think capping Ranged Def should be hard... I just did that on my Grav/FF Troller, almost without even trying (of course FF gives me a good start there). And I guess I already sorta did some of those things already. I just have to figure out where to pull slots to get my blasts 6-slotted.Quote:A range capped (or even 30% range def) build could be pretty effective, and with shadow fall giving you a decent amount of def already (plus hover) it wouldn't be very hard to achieve. Thunderstrikes (6 slotted) in dark blast and gloom will add about another 4% range def each, plus basilisk gaze adds a little bit, as does sting of the manticore in your snipe. You can also grab a steadfast 3% def and put it in either shadow fall or dark embrace. Once you get within the 33-35% range (so a small purple will cap you, or just all your -tohit debuffs) you can pretty much work on +rech bonuses, with maybe +HP and +recov covering up the rest of your powers.
I wish you could too... I would love to look at what you did differently. Unfortunately, now I'M at work... and can't do anything but look at what I have above.Quote:I wish i could have mids at work and be able to piece something together, but i'm thinking once you hit 33-35% range def, with or without hover, you'll be a pretty nasty character.
-
Ooops.... I have never imported a build before... allow me a sec to fix that.
Edit: There!
I was mostly looking to not have endurance issues... ever. Beyond that, I had no idea what I was doing, but thought it better to offer a start, than give you folks nothing to work with.
Also, I went with Elec because the concept of the character is that he has sand related powers, and since the Dark Epic is not colorable, it would look off... So, I chose electric as sort of a neutral technologically explainable option. If Dark will allow me to do something specific, I am not against switching the Epic (but Dark or Elec are the only two I would be willing to use). -
Until recently, I have tried not to get involved with IOs and making builds... however, when I began IOing a different character, I actually found it less hurtful than I had ever thought. Regardless, I have been messing around with creating a workable build for my Darkity Dark Dark Defender, with the result that follows.
A bit of info about how I play: I do not ever PvP, I almost always team (though usually only a small team), and basically only pull out this character when I feel like it... as such, I don't want to spend 8 bazillion influence on this. So, an eye toward cost effectiveness would be great.
Thoughts?

I assume the point of this set would be to... eliminate knockBACK and make it into knockDOWN? I am unfamiliar with the numbers aspect of knock, and also was unsure on what " - %10000" really meant. Didn't know if that was a hyphen or a minus sign (assuming it is a minus... though I am still confused why the percent sign is in front of the number).
And, should my above assumptions be accurate: No, I would not seek out or slot this set. I don't understand how this will "fix" anything. There are two problems with knockback, and neither has anything to do with the actually ability. One is morons missusing it to the point of annoyance, and the other is morons being so anti-knockback in ANY usage that they make people with those powers feel like they can't use their powers even if they DO know how to use them. AKA, the way to fix KB is to teach people to not be idiots, not change the ability via IOs. This would only serve to further empower group two above, and be a cop out for group one to not learn anything. -
To the OP... if your main problem is perceived server emptiness... and you are a Euro player, than a fix is in the pipeline: server list merge. Soon you will have access to all of the US servers as well. And, I betcha that there will be another round of free server transfers when that happens so that we can "invade" each others' home turfs.
Also, I have to side with all of the above who do not think a pool of attacks is a good way to go to help some sets solo better. Honestly, some sets SHOULDN'T be able to solo well... it's part of the design. Empathy, for instance, by it's very nature excells in a teaming environment. -
It has this
symbol that flashes occasionally.

Quote:This seems like utter insanity to me... too many options? I am utterly flabbergasted!! And that is a word I do NOT use lightly!I find the number of choices in the CC so bewildering that I just hit random until I find something OK then change the colours to csomething that won't make my eyeballs bleed.
More choices in the CC?
<twitch>
Feh.
I'd rather the devs spend their time elsewhere.

For me, cool looking will always trump super powerful Powers.
-
I just wanted to toss out a brief comment on this part here... To answer the underlined question: No! For me, and I am sure many others, character concept trumps "power gaming" or number crunching every time. Granted, I would never be the guy asking to solo GMs or something, but I don't think it is a bit odd to want to preserve a concept while ALSO not sucking. And, I am also quite sure it is more than possible in most situations (outside of petless MMs, for example *shudder*).
-
Actually, that has nothing to do with math, and everything to do with a bit of an inside joke in High School that involves the funny tracks at the end of a "You Don't Know Jack" CD.
-
Need a math tutor? I love maths! Hell, I took a Calculus course in college just for the fun of it.
-
Check the links in the OP... I think Shadow may have fixed them per his post above. Also, I didn't bother to check if it actually downloads... just that a page loads (I was at work and wouldn't have been able to d/l it anyway).

Quote:Hmmm, that seems almost a bit TOO logical.Let's have a look at what we already have...
- Global Enhancement Slot (with non-Incarnate Level Shift)
- AoE Attack
- Temp Pet (with Incarnate Level Shift)
- Debuff Proc
- Team Buff (with Incarnate Level Shift)
So perhaps, as a kind of mirror to what we already have, we could get...- Self Buff (with Incarnate Level Shift)
- Damage Proc
- Perma-Pet (with Incarnate Level Shift)
- AoE Mez
- Global Enhancement Slot (with non-Incarnate Level Shift)
-
Ummm, first of all, I think you clearly have the wrong forum area... secondly, was there a point to that post?

The first Serrellian arc is about 98% complete! Jason and I just need to run through it one more time. I hope it is a good one!
It will be ready for us for tonight... if we wanna do it! -
Quote:Yes, they are. There is a functional link in Shadow_State's sig! What you are looking for would likely be the Standard version of the Enhancement Icon Standardization Pack.Is this still available? I have poor vision and enhancements always screw me up, this seems like a godsend.
