  1. I am enraged that no one else is posting about commissions! Also, I'm going to study Ysa's anime colouring style and see if I can steal it.
  2. Still in progress, this is the mostly-finished lineart:
    Pinup Girl.

(Hope I don't get in trouble for sharing it so soon!)
  3. This was a big shock when I read it this morning. I even posted about it on my blog.
    Rest in peace, Mr. Turner.

    MMO ART?

    Damn right, I do!

See, if you people hustled a little more for me, I wouldn't have to be such a disgustingly shameless self-promoter!
  5. How's the custom brush set up? Is there anything other than the opacity that you changed?
  6. I thought I'd make a separate thread rather than clogging up the MMOArt one.

    /Battlewraith on a friend's account

Well last time I checked Gill had a contract people signed when they commissioned him that did not allow them to alter the work in any way (including coloring his linework). The only reason I mention it is that it would suck if through some weird turn of events you had another artist finish one of these pieces and then you were forced to remove it.

I will also probably be open for commissions in the near future. Here is a recent black and white piece I did:

I'm doing some new pieces based on my current approach to digital painting and then i'll be reposting a price list/queue etc.

I really like that piece! You'll have to share your technique!

Also: I am always open for commissions, if people are looking for new art!

    MMO ART?

Also: The "Nectar of the Gods" piece is great. I can see how that'd be easy to ink and finish.

At this time, I'd like to point out that I am currently accepting commissions and cost way less that $500 for a colour piece!

    That's constructive, right? Constructive shilling.

It's true that mine'd be fabulous, but that's pretty much the exact pose and detail I was going for!

I'm going to have him killed for this. I hope you're happy now.

But...you're in Canada; surely murder for hire is a bit, well, impolite? Perhaps a mild talking-to instead.

Impolite? This is blood feud! I will feast on the entrails of his children!

    (Not really.)

I've been envious of Juggertha's, Graver's, and Gil's ability to list long lines of people clamoring for their work, but I can also see how that level of committment can leave an artist overwhelmed.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I agree. Right now, I actually have four in queue and I haven't been able to work on them solidly for a few weeks. It's why I don't take money upfront until at least the roughs are finished.

Which shouldn't deter anyone from contacting me and getting on the list! agentfoodotcom!

I'm sorry, Foo I still think you'd do your own fabulous spin on it.

But it is pretty nifty, ain't it?

  12. Okay, I'm totally NOT doing that pose anymore, 'cos I can't beat that.

Man, I feel bad for you guys. I can't imagine how annoying it'd be to lose that kind of money with no recourse.

Mind you, those EULA's are pretty much bunk in a court...

    [/ QUOTE ]

While a EULA isn't legally binding, it DOES give you a sense for what the company might perceive as an infraction, and when they might take action (even if that action is only to remove your name, or suspend your account).

My advice; don't bother re-creating the character in-game. It's not worth the (potential) problems.

I'm just saying you're horribly paranoid, that's all. Why won't you accept that!?

    MMO ART?

I welcome all my clients depositing more than the original quote!
  16. Mind you, those EULA's are pretty much bunk in a court, so it's not like you have to worry that NCSoft's going to start publishing your character and point to that as ownership.

You've always got control over the delete character button, anyway.

    MMO ART?

Luckily for me, neither has been a problem, though, again, it's probably because my commissions are pretty much just people from these boards who are well-known, and I don't do anywhere near the amount that Jomaro (or even Juggertha) do.

Regardless, this is not a good situation to be in for anyone.

    MMO ART?

It's stuff like this that makes me compulsively email my clients. I'm pretty sure by now they're all thinking, "It's okay, dude. Take a week off; there's no need to email me!" but I'd rather they know I've not forgotten them!

Of course, I'm not pulling down the numbers Jomaro is/was, so I can afford to be so hands-on.

Hopefully, everything's alright with them and this is slowly working itself out. Protip for them, though: gmail and hotmail are free and don't expire. It's not as professional, but you'll never lose your connection to the interwebs.
  19. And that's what it's all about! (Also, putting your right hand in, taking your right hand out.)
  20. The completed version of my commission for Synchrotron, based on Charlize Theron and TIME magazine.
  21. Ha. Now you get no thread for next month!
