Also, I will share with you the strategies that allowed me to become your 2009 champion: I posted my pieces when my lazy, procrastinating *** finally managed to get them finished.

Hooray, finally some who's not a giant baby!

Last night's DAD:
Tjorak
Also, we have a winner for the 30k contest! Congratulations LimeDolly, whomever you are! -
Did something last night, forgot to upload it.

Also: No drawing yesterday 'cos I was out being a nerd.

"Waiter, there's a skeleton lady with large breasts in my glass."
"Well, keep it down or everyone else will want one, too." -
Everything said about me should be heard in Mr. T's voice.

I agree: I am great.
No, wait, that's not what I was going to say. I was going to say: I am great.
Sonuva...
Here's what I'm sayin': Go forth unto college. Stop playing with us and go plays with some college fellas! You're living your life now, so don't worry about us interwebs. Go get your learn on and become an anthropologist extraordinaire.
Then, remember to thank us when you publish your first book. -
I gotta start thinking about my February piece...

Well, with the second one, you kind of diluted the shadows too much, which causes you to lose the dimensionality of the piece.
I commented on the first one because I thought it was actually better at defining the shape of him, aside from the minor things like the size of the figure shadow and such.
Also, I personally like the hard-edged shadows better than fuzzier ones, but that's maybe a stylistic thing. -
Quote:Yeah, lots of artists are doing just that. If I thought there was a market for prints of my stuff, I'd definitely do it.Wow, I've contemplated buying a print or two for my son but never realized it was DA that got most of the money not the artist. That changes things dramatically.
Although I know some of the DA artists have their own sites that you could purchase prints from. Maybe that would be the route to go CR.
Also, to be fair: DA does offer a premium print account to artist for a yearly fee. If you sign up for that, you get a larger share, and can also increase the print price if you so desire. -
The prints on DA seem really pricey to me, and the markup is ridiculous. At the default price, the artist makes ~10% of the print cost at best, depending on the item.
For something like a $5 magnet, the artist gets 16 cents!
Whenever anyone's inquired about a print, I tell them I'll send them a file and they can take it to Kinko's. -

Hmm. Can you do gradients with vectors? I think I might be able to do something with them if that's the case.
