First of all, let me note that you've chosen one of the two most populated servers. The other one is Freedom, which is more PvP and PL focused. There was just a new free expansion two days ago, which added a lot of new collectible achievements, and most people have dug out their high-levels to run around and get them.
Don't worry about the relative levels of other players. We have the Sidekick System, which makes all players in a party the same level. So if you're invited to a team of level 50s, you become level 49 for the duration - or you can invite them to your team, and they temporarily become your level, and gain the same rewards from your missions as they would from their own.
You may have a bit of trouble creating teams while you're still on a Trial account, because of the chat restrictions. Once you've upgraded to a full subscription, there are easy-to-follow guides to starting your own teams. For now, I recommend using Help Chat (type lines starting with /hc) to ask questions and find teammates, and putting something like "Trial Account, can't send tells or invites" in the window that comes up if you select "Team" while not teamed.
I'm sure there's at least three other posts with other helpful tips by the time I'm done writing this, so I hope this helps!
I personally chosen Virtue server because I heard it's the unofficial RP server and I'm a huge fan of RP. I'm so glad that you informed me about it because now I'm going to try out that by trying to get many high levels involved. -

I'm currently on my trial account, first day, and what I noticed is that most if not all players are well above 30 and most 50. I personally enjoy leveling doing missions on teams and on top of that you gain EXTRA exp when you are in bigger groups/teams.
I'm really-really do not want to start the game and just solo it to level 50. I haven't bought the game yet and I really do not want to buy it now and play only 10 days to for fill my urges to play with power for a bit.
Any ideas what I should do? How to gather people, maybe a different server to try? -

Illusion/Empathy is what you're looking for.
1 - Blind
1 - Healing Aura
2 - Spectral Wounds
4 - Heal Other
6 - Recall Friend
8 - Superior Invisibility
So you are now level 8 and you can hold/blast, heal from without dropping stealth and stealth missions of all levels (except Rikti, damn drones). The higher level powers are pretty good too I hear.
The generator is mad awesome! Than you very much for the advice. (2) Teams value most of the sets. The only one that some don't like on teams is Storm, but even with Storm, you can learn to play in a way that is team friendly.
(3) Most of the sets let you hang back if you want. Ice and Fire control do require you get in close for maximum effectiveness, and /Kinetics as a secondary can require that you get in close for maximum benefit. BUT, you can play those sets even at range and you'll do OK. Now if you mean "busy" then Mind Control, /Kinetics, and /Thermal can be busy. But they are all fun.
So, by all means, play what you want to.
By the way, Illusion Control and Plant Control are both highly valued by teams, so no worries there. So feel free to pick either one. Good combos for you might include:
Illusion/Radiation, Illusion/Empathy, Plant/Radiation, Plant/Kinetics.
But really, you could just about pick randomly for primary and secondary and get something pretty good. If you want to give that a shot, click the link in my signature and generate some random controllers.

I'm really confused on what exactly I want to be. I know it's important that I play the character I feel comfortable with but it's like I think I'm comfortable playing any control character/power-set.
What really-really want is;
-Power-set that is useful!
-Power-set that most teams want to have with them.
-Power-set that not exactly full-on combat but more in the background.
I was really considering Illusion and I love it but I also really like Plant control. I have really hard time to decide between them. I personally think that no team really want an Illusion controller to be on their team because they are not really team players I guess. Any ideas for me?

I was wondering, since right now I'm on a trial account, trying out the game and all, am I limited to customization of my character? Like the clothes for costumes; Capes, robes, etc.
I really-really wanted to build a costume with like full-on robe, not half-an'-half but like a robe from top to bottom, bottom to the feet. Where as right now it only allows me to have a robe that a a little above knees.
Oh and I was wondering if it was possible to obtain some sort staff or like an item that you can hold in your hands?
