Why do you keep replying to me then? Am I important? Do you like the look of my gams? Are you that much of a shut-in that arguing on the internet and communicating partly through gifs and youtube videos of a dead comedian fulfills enough human interaction that makes you get through to the next day?

Quote:Oh, I guess you are very clever.

Quote:There's that unwarranted self importance again.Oi. Following me around, eh? Here. Same reply as in the other thread.

Once more you miss the entire point. CORPORATE GREED. Not my outrage, not your ambivalence, not that ninja's stupidity....but the crap that kills people more efficiently than ANY war machine.
One last time. CORPORATE GREED.
Oh...and by the way....*points at sig* -

Quote:Wow, you're quite a character. If Carlin was alive he would call you a ******* moron for getting worked up over a video game. That's not the game's fault. That's still NCSoft's fault for not promoting it.
I personally also blame eastern culture and anime's "popularity" for the death of something I love. Hell, half the global channels I listen in on ingame STILL spout effluvia about their favorite anime shows or live action crap adaptations. That part is a culture war. Not entirely NCSoft's part...that falls back onto us, for making it so popular game corporations pander to that market so they can keep making money and go live in forty room mansions while those of us who make that money for them go live in an apartment with forty other people.
Bottom line? Corporate greed killed this. And you lot enabled it. Because I sure as frell hate manga, anime, and the whole eastern cartoon style. Ditto those silly as frack live action shows.
So....in closing....*points at sig* GG....listen to papa Carlin. -
The HoM is actually a clever system to get new GW2 players to buy GW1 all the way up to Eye of the North.
-
The reason CoH failed was because it didn't rake in enough revenue, meaning it had a low population of players. So if all those players boycotted NCsoft, it wouldn't amount to anything. The only real way to hurt NCsoft financially was to keep CoH running.
-
As for the whole "City of Hero" fiasco, it wasn't because Asians hate western super heroes, it was because there was no such thing as end content in the game until like 4 years later, and in most of the MMO world, the end content is the main meat of the game.

Quote:GW1 has no subscriptions and very few microtransactions, but with the very successful release of GW2, it will ensure that people will want to play the first one and even buy the expansions. If you look closely it was actually GW1 that made the least amount of sales but for some reason they are continuing it and not CoH. I think they should close GW1 since they have 2 now and consolidate servers for CoH to save money. Not close the game. Maybe go back to subscriptions if that helps. I know my dad and i never quit paying our subscriptions even after F2P. We liked having all the content at our disposal.

For people who were actual ********, the social worker who admitted he loved to taser the people he was supposed to be helping.
-
The biggest problem CoH had was the first one, which was it's rigid old engine that made it hard to add new features.
-
This thread embodies the CoX community in it's most distilled form.
-
The only real foreseeable problem was that the microtransactions had to be done through a third party company instead of NCsoft proper like in their other games.
-
Basically, just make the CoH game they always wanted to but was held back by ancient tech, then rename it.
-
I don't think VALVe will pick up an mmo, it unlike anything they've ever done. More likely they would buyout the license to the make a sequel and/or hire on some devs (Counter Strike, Team Fortress, Team Fortress 2, DOTA 2).
-
Should have made the GW2 one look like a Charr.
-
When did this thread become the Def Poetry Jam?
-
They should just make a spiritual successor. A City of Heroes sequel in all but the name.
-
How is he a jerk? All these games come to end and, but it is sad that this one was quick and very abrupt. What you can take away from this is knowing you spent 5 years playing a good game with good people.
-
What was the other IP you were working on and was there any solid plan for CoH2?
-
If there is one thing to look forward to after a studio closes is the hope of a spiritual successor. Fallout came from Wasteland, Bioshock from System Shock, Red Dead Redemption from Red Dead Revolver, and Dragon Age from Baldur's Gate. Hopefully enough of the devs can stick together and find greener pastures and hope their next game is even better than this one.

Wait, if PS had another, non Cryptic-engine game in development, why did they get the axe? I don't care about PWE now, NCsoft is where my ire is going to be.
