That... is... AWESOME!
Better than the original Tommy Lee Jones pic. -
Quote:Seems like Inventions would be a contributor to this homogenization of characters as well.Yep, the incarnate powers are another symptom of the problem that I've been ranting about. The overall trend is toward giving the players more gimmicks and less substance, where 'gimmicks' are defined as meaningless choices and 'substance' defined as gameplay. Both inherent stamina and the incarnate system are symptoms of that problem.

I've joined teams under similar circumstances that went on to do at least a few more missions. On the other hand I've joined teams who were between missions that break up just after a new mission gets selected. Player whims are fickle, and sometimes disappointing. I probably wouldn't have quit that team just because I thought maybe there was a possibility it wouldn't last much beyond the end of that mission.

Quote:At the bottom of the page there should be a skin selector. If you set it from Hero to Villain it should fix your problem (just tested). There is an odd formatting issue that's popped up with the Hero skin, which apparently affected those sections even worse than threads themselves. Why were dev/com threads broken? We cant really read them anymore in the new whacky style. Can someone please revert them to the normal style?

Quote:Indeed. Generally speaking, all knockback goes directly away from the user. The only time it's "radial", therefore, is when the user is standing in the middle of the group of enemies. (I say "generally" because I'm not sure if powers that put down pet/pseudopet patches that cause knockback (Ice Patches, Oil Slicks, etc.) originate the knockback from the pet or the player, and for the most part those powers use low mag knockback (aka knockdown) anyway so it's largely moot.)Psst...Explosive Blast looks radial in nature, but it knocks enemies all in the same direction just like Energy Torrent. Another thing you might know if you played knockback sets.

And if the user is hovering directly above the enemies, knockback essentially becomes knockdown (perhaps even a better knockdown, as I think the higher mag incapacitates the enemies slightly longer).
Personally, I still want a set based around Knockup. Or at least with an AoE Knockup power (if only Gravity Control had one). -
Because I'm stupid and should let someone else drive my browser when I've been up all night. Forgot the crucial step of changing the forum skin to villain in the options before applying the Zombie Skin.
-
Interesting idea. Alas, I avoid redside whenever possible.

Okay, well now everything is brighter blue but the width is still broken. Zombie Skin just managed to stab my eyes with brighter colours.

Quote:I wouldn't buy the Rocket Board anyway. To me it is far less desirable than any of the regular travel powers simply because it shuts of all your powers.I look at this from a business standpoint. Right now, the Devs are selling the Rocket Board. If they made the travel powers inherent, who would buy the Rocket Board (lost revenues), and you'd piss people off who have already bought this item (bad press and angry fans). Neither of those will help them.

Those statements, as you've put them, do not contradict each other. Min-maxers don't necessarily like powerful tools. For instance, Detention Field is a powerful mitigation tool that min-maxers might hate.
-
Last I heard, Air Supremacy was considered a decent power.
I don't think I could deal with travel powers going inherent. Since Inherent Fitness came about I've already been having trouble choosing powers all the way to 50. -
Quote:So I didn't truly have altism until they gave us more than 30 slots? And playing 2 or 3 characters isn't altism. Altism is when you have more characters than you can cycle through in a month of playing a different character each day.

On topic: I'd personally be all for adding more choices to existing powers at various tiers. Though they might be compelled to make the choices at each tier mutually exclusive. -
Quote:And those would be the players looking to take Maneuvers over Combat Jumping simply because of the %1 or so difference in Defense bonus, right?Don't get me wrong...I absolutely know that I am in the minority here...as most players only care about numbers.
I mean, if looks were more important than numbers, a player wouldn't need to take or run either power. But if looks are secondary to numbers a player might find themselves choosing the 'lesser of two evils' appearance-wise to grasp at the tiny bonus.
For my part, I find that of the two Combat Jumping offers the best bang for the Endurance buck anyway. It gives a nearly the same (or better) Defense bonus as well as Immobilize protection and greater maneuverability. I'll generally only look at Maneuvers if I'm trying to stack Team Defense. -

Quote:Wouldn't Power Boost take it up over 50?Ideally you need a slight bit more ... "As reported by Castle, the mez protection during the "triangles up" period adds 50 magnitude (stacking with inherent protection and any possible toggles or buffs), and covers Hold, Knockback, Confuse, Repel, Disorient, and Fear effects, but does not cover Sleep nor Immobilize effects." from >> http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Purple_Triangles
Can't recall if any of the current Incarnate Abilities boost Knockback magnitude ...
Edit (to add): No, none add to kb that I could find with a quick look over the Incarnate Abilities. -

It's somewhere between 18-22 for me... BUT that depends on getting on a decent-sized team that's moving along pretty good. And I can't queue up for random teaming. Thus, when the invites aren't forthcoming and I get sick of soloing I queue up. Unfortunately, there's very little available pre-50 at this point in time to queue up for.

Quote:Ditto.Meh, I noticed it but no way I'm swapping to the villain one...it hurts my eyes all that red.

Looks like that's only for Firefox. -

Suddenly, all the posts in threads I click on are wider than frames at the top of the page. Just started happening within the last several minutes.

Only bring them back if they get a footstomp that one-shots everything within an 80' radius.

Don't you mean Magenta rather than Red? And in any case, aren't they sometimes referred to as Process Red, Process Yellow, and Process Blue? Neither of which is particularly relevant to the typical RGB method used in displays, which, IIRC, is an additive method as compared to the subtractive method typically used in printing (well, inkjet anyway, I can't vouch for any processes beyond that).

Quote:Absolutely flesh coloured is not absolutely nude in such a way that violates a T for Teen rating. The absence of certain details sees to that. Which is to say it does not qualify as the 'graphic nudity' that requires a higher rating.Giving players access to a Color Wheel or RGB color picker could allow people to create potentially absolutely nude looking characters, which would be against the T for Teen rules.
In other news, a reptilian character can wear nothing but their skin if they so choose. No masks, no clothing.
