Well tbh folks games in graphics are getting better, and upgrading your ancient computers is becoming NECESSARY.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah. Sure. I'll have £500 please, and a free mouse.
Crappy is all some of us can afford, wether we like it or not. As soon as I can, I'll be getting the rig I've wanted for a long time. But, wow, lucky you, meanwhile you can still play at max graphics! Well done!

Try playing it on minimum. ALL on minimum. Now quit whining, plzkthnx.

Well if anything was done, its unlikely it wont go without supporting the old system as well and just have an extra few settings for those with decent computers. Much like EQ2 did.

That being said, CoH is going to die out someday and if your pc can only handle minimum settings your not going to be able to find any new games that will play on it.

See above post for 'Riggage will happen'
If not, Imma gonna go rob me some banks. Or maybe a politician...
No, staying well clear of that arguement

Good. Another two-hundred-plus tedious AE badge-farm missions gone, further narrowing down the pool of AE missions to those made with at least a modicum of effort and thought.

Couldn't care less about losing badges I had; if anything I'm glad to get shot of the need to beg other people to play my arcs so I can get whatever badge. And pretty much insta-accolade for the toons I've put a bit of badging effort in on.

    In summary, then: Good.

It's a badge. No, it's not even that, it's a VIRTUAL badge, on a virtual game with virtual stuff.

If your outraged enough to leave, so be it.
If your staying, maybe see you in MA where we may now see some REAL Story missions up =]
  3. Vix was about to reply, but glanced round first. With a particularly colourful swear word she ran over to Lieutenant Hicks and hauled him out under the armpits from the murky sludge.
"Don't envy this one," she muttured, leaving the rather sodden Lieutenant with his two companions, before turning to the Rector.
She had to fight down the impulse to blast the thing through three metres of solid wall. Still, one thing she would give the Rikti, and by and by the Lost, was they did have a sense of honour, of sorts. Slightly strange, slihgtly warped and twisted, but still present.
"I can't stand by and see people die. I can't speak for the others, but I'm in this until it's done."

Personally I've always wondered how the (bleep) the masked people see throught the masks. Even if they're fairly see-through it's still a huge risk to limit your sight like that.

Here's the secret (and I'll whisper it because it's a touchy subject) *it's not real*.

I'll be over here, with the robotic horde. Y'know, when you want to do some REAL damage. Sheesh.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's proper irony. Took me ages to get it :/

Get REAL! Get NUMBERS! Get real numbers... or integers, I'm not fussy.

I have to say, though, that I'm equally enamoured with the idea of other abstract concepts. The idea of trapping someone within an existential paradox or bamboozling them with a conundrum certainly appeals to me and my brainy scientific boffin characters.

Violation via Time/Space/Warp manipulation sounds perfectly decent and/or villainous. A set based massively on confusing the enemy so far that you could pursuade them to chew their own foot off, sounds neat.

    Maths? JUST maths?

  9. Vix swore, spinning to the oncoming horde.
"Hold it!" she shouted, keeping her hands ready, but at hip level. "We're not here for you lot...we're after the nutjob who's been commiting mass murder. Some of yours included."
She hoped it wouldn't come to a fight. She had no love of the Rikti, far from it, but she pitied those that fell into the clutches of the mind-warping Pariah's and Anathema.
It would help if the Lieutenant didn't keep shining the damn light everywhere and brandishing his gun. Fat lot of good that thing would do against some of the bigger ones...
  10. "Empathy isn't mind reading. It *is* rude to pry without asking, which is why I don't do it," Vix said, stepping out of the shadows. "What on earth are you doing down here, though?"
  11. Its Icon is one of the standard green circles. Its just up from the mercy Ferry, though, so it's not hard to get to =]
  12. Welcome to the Dark Side, young one

Redside, sadly, the main RP is to be found in Pocket D, as the Rogue Isles lacks anything like Galaxy Girl on Union server.
Personally, I've only been on Union, and I can atest to RP being not only alive but kicking.

Hang in Pocket D, best bet to get started =]
  13. Vix rolled her eyes, stepping back into the shadows. Her fur didn't blend with the brickwork, but coupled with her mostly black clothing it was dark enough to make her hard to spot. She peered at the figure down the tunnel with night-sight eyes, trying to figure out who or what it was. She also extended her empathic reach, trying to get a feeling for if it was hostile or not.

And, if needs be, to haul the Lieutenants backside out of trouble...
  14. I get demoralised by NO feedback. Like, none except for the people I actually know sort of none. Sure, got a few extra ratings. No feedback.
What also, on a creative footing, annoys me sort of, is the arc I was more happy with ending up a 3, while the arc I was least happy with still being on 5 and the arc I never intended to keep up aside from RPing it is on a 4...funny ol' world.

Still...need to actually do some work with MA, methinks. Think of something more widely creative.
And yes. HoF and DevChoice atm contains a few gems, and then so much B-S as to be staggering...
  15. Vix peered into the darker depths that were the sewers. She hated it down here, nearly as much as she hated the sanity forsaken caves of Eastgate Heights in the Hollows. Dark, dank, cloying air and a hive of dark feelings and emotions.
They didn't want to attract too much attention down here.

She blinked, eyes glowing red for just a second, until the contrast of light and dark had shifted enough to give her an adjusted vision, suited more the dark down here.
"Don't bother with torches...that's like dropping prime steak in the middle of a school of sharks," she warned, beginning to extend her mind to replicate the temporary change on the others. "If anyone objects to temporary induced night-vis, though, just say the word..."
  16. Vix growled quietly, having to will herself to not snarl openly. The Lieutenant was obviously sort of new, and most people who didn't work in both a Hospital and a warzone would be rattled by this much death. Given the circumstances, she still was, and it was giving her temper an edge.

"Lieutenant, I don't need to 'Prove myself'. I know what I'm capable of, and pin-point accuracy when I'm this close to so many dead people is not one of them, ok?"
    She winced, slightly, glancing down.
"Sorry...I know this is going bad real fast, and, like I said, all the dead aren't helping. Whoever it is is down, down in the Sewer Network somewhere. Once we get clear of all this, tracking it might be easier. Even if it's not, we can always 'ask' some of the Lost, right?"

She glanced around, dredging up a map of Skyway and trying to remember the nearest Tunnel entrance.
"Oh, and if we're going to work together on this one, let me just make it clear that things like 'Furball' won't make it easier. You think I asked to be this way?" she added, glancing at him as she looked around.
  17. Vix winced as Samantha lost her breakfast, a result she herself had managed to prevent due to practice and training. The feelings she sometimes got as a result of psionics and empathy combined were still unpleasant, but at least she could hold onto her lunch.

Her head snapped round, spine tingling and ears flattened. Another death...and ripples, echoes. Some powerful psionics, all of it still clouded by the linger of death. But it definately came from nearby. But...down? Wait. They were in Skyway. What was underneath Skyway, and for that matter most of the city?
    Sewers. Miles of sewer tunnels.

"Somethings still going on...I think whoever did this is still here, right under our feet!" she called, going to help Luminescence up and trying to get the attention of the other Hero and the PPD Lieutenant.

((Let me know if I jump the gun at all, never quite sure whats too much/too little ^^; ))
  18. Vix blinked, but in that moment there was enough time to extend the empathic sense. Being both a psionic and an empath had caused her more than a few major problems in the past, but it had it's uses.

There was no mistaking the dull ache of a death. It was all around, anyway, but thin, slimy, days and weeks old, like the thin, sickly layer that grew on top of old paint, or gone off milk, and felt like it was crawling down your spine.
This feeling...this was new, sharp, like acidic brimstone on the tongue, and like electric-tingling oil down the back that clawed at your ribs and made your heart ache on the off-beats.

<I don't know where. Just that it happened> came the reply, along with an apologetic feeling for the unsettling sensation that was the sense of death.
  19. Vix frowned. Even without empathic senses, she could tell the Lieutenant wasn't really interested. With a sigh she flipped out her double-side booklet, the one that held both her Hero Registration ID and her Chiron Medical ID.
"Kitsune Vixen, Doctor, field medic," she snapped, making sure that her tone was still polite, but also showed she wasn't here to mess around. "Lieutenant, those bodies haven't been touched. Not physically. Theres just lots and lots of blood. Some of those bodies are weeks old, too."

She paused, glancing at the buildings around them. That feeling, the crawling itch on her spine...
"And something just happened. Something...important. Believe me, I know that sounds like so much Bee-ess, but it's not just a hunch..."

She was quite glad the accelrent of her mutation hadn't given her a tail, let alone nine...right now it would be as on edge as her. Even so, her fur tingled and her ears kept swivelling, as if trying to pin-point a distant sound.

((See Vix's handbook page to clear things up if needsbe))
  20. Vix watched silently, examining the bodies as, almost ghostlike, they floated into the ambulances. She helped shepherd them in, given Luminescene was somewhat distracted. She also took the time to inspect what was left, to see if there were any wounds that had any sort of origin that might be obvious.

Her ear flicked. The fine fur on her spine tingled slightly, and she got the overall feeling that someone had just poured something slimey and unpleasant all over her, then wshed it off again all in one go.
She moved over to the Lieutenant, her image becoming a lot clearer as she stepped out of the shadows and into the rising sun. Black leather trousers, leg and rump-hugging, with red flameburst patternings rising to the knee; a simple belt with a few pockets, one with a radio; a black tank top, that only just met her belt; fingerless gloves, strapped and a worn, that looked tough enough to give even a Troll jawache if used to punch; and a pair of round glasses, perched on her nose, one eye hidden by her crimson hair.

"Lieutenant?" she asked, the english-american mix in her accent, "Something's up...something else. I think it's close, but given what's happened here I can't be sure..."
  21. Death. She had caught the sharp, nauseating stench over a mile off, the feeling like a punch to the gut and an instant, chilly migrane.

Kitsune Vixen stood, looking at the bridge. She didn't need to see under it to know what was there. Death was like a dull ache, a grim throb in her mind, grating against her psyche. She rested her palm against her temple, brushing aside the blood red hair, brick red fur catching the first rays of light slightly.
Kitsune Vixen...now in appearance, and not just name. Chiron Doctor, Field Empath, Heroine and Psionic.

So, much though she wanted to turn, run, slam the door to her room and dive under the sheets, curling up and quivering and wishing it would all go away, she knew she couldn't.
Instead she made her way to the two figures on the fence, noting the PPD insignias and ranks.
"Captain?" she said quietly. "What happened?"

Other moment that left us all awestruck.

Party encountered a Wraith, The fighter charged the Wraith but thanks to a critical miss, had his sword lodged into the wooden beam above the door leaving the Wraith a free shot.

The Thief then declared that he was going to "run along the wall, jump, grab the sword, spin and shut the door" the GM looked at him with a smirk saying he could well try it but he'd have to roll for every action and they'd all require atleast 16 or more on a D20 for running along the wall and jumping and an 18 or more for grabbing the sword and getting the door shut.

The bugger promptly and rather casually pulled this off all off (so 5 dice rolls, the last of which was a natural 20, forcing the GM to give the thief enough time to say a pithy remark before slamming the door), preforming what was essentially a Legolas style move...as a halfling thief...
