Seriously, where did all of you get this uber ST post I3?

It locked down mobs that never attacked?
    It immobilized mobs?

Wow! That is incredible. Here's what would happen if I used ST:
    1. I cast ST.
    2. I get shot at by every mob.
    3. 7.5 seconds elapse, and ST casts again.
    4. I get shot at by every mob.
    repeat Steps 3 & 4.

Yes, over time their accuracy dropped to the point where I was safe, but it took a while. I could mitigate this by casting PA first to soak agro, but I was still in danger for the first few volleys.

Was there an immobilize? God no. Sure, mobs weren't running all over the place to get into melee, but it wasn't an immobilize. You'd still get the occasional runner, and Knockback would send everything flying.

Would mobs sit there cowering while I picked things off one at a time? No, ST broke its own fear causing everything to shoot. There's 0 lockdown here.

Was ST an excellent debuffing tool that took some risk and power management to use? Definately!

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for situational powers (take a look at some of my recent posts on bonfire), but a power that just makes mobs flee away from me? That's not situational, that's near useless (esp. when you add in the fact that I'm still going to get a good amount of agro from it first).

What if we made ST work just like it did with I3's release, but we drop the stackable debuff? Make it a set amount that you have to slot up with tohitt debuffs. To me, this makes ST still uselful, but not as "uber out of the box" as some people believe it to be. And if you want that mighty debuff, commit the slots.

You know, I've been following this thread since Geko posted it yesterday, and I can't help but to notice that different people expect very different things for this power.

I know I personally think of it as an ACC debuff that has a slow effect from the cower.

Others want it to be more of a rooting tool, keeping everything in place

Others seem to want it to create a "safe zone" much like bonfire does for a fire controller, only using fear instead of knockback.

So here's my question, what intent do you see this power being, Geko? Is it meant to keep you safe from melee, or is it meant to be a bit more crowd control?

Personally, the best idea I've read on this thread is the guy who recomended that ST drop the pbaoe fear aura, and drop terrify and just chain cast Fearsome Stare from the dark set. This would be exactly what I want from the power, but it seems to me that Geko has something else in mind...

Woo hoo! Good to see that ST is being looked at, but are you saying that ST is going to be smart in its targeting? 'cause if the cone is meant to fear the tougher bad guys, I'd hope it does so and not attack randomly like PA.

But my main question is this: We are we keeping the running? Can't we just do away with it? ST was at its best right after I3 came out when there was nearly no running at all (up until the 1/18 patch). Can't we go back to that or was that considered too powerful?

It's bad enough we have our pets knocking everything back, but to have a second pet that makes things run is really annoying.

How about its big brother Comic Con this July?

    I know I'll be there.

Aw, they're destroyable? Why not give us an option to make an invisible (thus non-distracting) version that can't be targetted, and just disable chat while in that mode?

    [/ QUOTE ]

What a smart person - like me ;P - would do:

    1. Activate 'Spy-Cam.'

    2. Activate Invisibility. <Chat now disabled.>

    3. Zoom around to see where enemy is.

    4. Deactivate Invisibility.

    5. Tell team where the enemy is!

    Duh! ;P

    HOLY CRAP!

That's even better then I imagined!

So... what happens if your camera is destroyed? (Too soon?)

*Edit: Also, if you're defeated, would going into camera mode make it so you could not be rezzed by a teammate?

    A suggestion if I may.

Right now setting difficulty higher gets bigger spawns. I've heard your not supposed to but this occurs, I have seen it. This better be changed because I am gonna hate fighting named Lt's as I will for any future characters be bumping up the difficulty since this game shouldn't be so easy on me. Also, if I set myself to Invincible, can all Named Bosses because Elite Bosses? This feels appropriate if you guys fix the "bug" with setting reputation higher and getting more spawns when soloing when sometimes all people want is higher level enemies.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Actually, it does both.

    HardBoiled/Hero = What you Have
    <Forget Name> = HardBoiled +1
    <forget name again> = HardBoiled + 1, more mobs
    Rugged = HardBoiled +2
Unyielding = Hardboiled +2, more mobs
    Invince = Hardboiled + 3

    (The +'s are levels)

Sorry to jack, but I wanted to help. Just to be safe ::hugs states again:: seriously, I'm giddy over here
  10. Wow, States. I'm impressed.

This sounds like an Excellent solution! I love that teams are getting an XP bonus now. I definately think it encourages teaming more, as I've always felt a little something extra for teaming would be nice.

This also returns a lot of fun for my squishier characters.

So in short ::gives Statesman a HUGE hug::

You nailed it, man. Head on!

And attack/passive/defend modes for the pets.Maybe like a SEPARATE window that was optional for all people on a team to open to see pets, like a second team window...but with pets!

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Yes please!
  12. Ah, cool!

How about the lack of pet controls? We can control the enemy but not our own pets.

I'm not asking for a lot, but I've heard a lot of suggestions based on "mode": Defence - keeps them close and protect me. Offense - what they are now. Travel - Dear god, please don't attack.

Something like that would be amazing.

    But, yes, elevators first!

    "1.21 Jiggawatts?!"

    [/ QUOTE ]

OMG! You hit my #1 pet peeve of what is a truley GREAT movie!

It's not a "Jiggawatt" like they say in the movie... it's a "Gigawatt" (one billion watts). Just like you're hard drive has "Gigabytes" (one billion bytes... sorta. It's actually 1073741824 bytes, but now we're getting into 8-bit counting and that's a different subject )

... I'm not sure what made me do that, but I do feel better now!

(also extra ironic that I just finished the Ubelman arch just last night)
  14. Does this mean people are going to complain about knockback less? Or is that still on?
