The community as a whole is currently on a PuG doing Frostfire, not giving a monkeys about who said what about who, what epic AT they are going to use come I14, or whether fezzes will ever be included as a costume option (well possibly not that. Everyone wants fezzes), and they are having a blast not worrying about such stuff. I'd hartily recommend joining them occasionally, as it is jolly good fun.

Again what you saying is something that everyone does. I teamed for quite a while with coalition/SG/friends etc and for 1 week i was getting team in hollows randomly. Actually the vast majority of the players especially long term ones follow this practise.

Yes so the players attitude suck the place is getting worse and the community events are a drag for the last two months.You arent exactly calling for more open community.You want more open community?i agree noone wants anything different from the people that have been here from the start. And this is why 1 year after the majority of long term players that have stuck around are doing their best for this community by participating at community events and getting involved,focusing on creating well established and friendly SG's that make new players feel welcome (Femme Fatales,Paragon Defenders,Forgotten Warriors,Goonies,HU,Plastics,TC,InnerCircle and so many more) and try do their best in supporting this lil place despite the sometimes difficulties that are thrown from Devs or situational events. Till now this place is more welcoming than any other MM Online Community you will find out there composed by awsome people with a variety of thoughts and in depth debates in the most civilised way.

Saying that this community is derailing etc and putting the basis for that on your global friends list is i repeat uncalled for plus is not really calling to be friendly but strikes as a rant to me and this is what was called uppon debates that took place in game about it.

So if this community is derailing i would like explained how this is done cause so far the reasons i saw for this are really really not ver viable. A global friends list and the whole teaming issue are really not community indicators. Community indicator is the friendliness from the majority of people,the willingness to help new players learn and have fun, the atmosphere during community gatherings and the amount of community participation are true indicators. So far the community events have been good fun, the raids have been smooth and always a good laugh,new players express how satisified they are with this lil place (with the occasional tools slaggin about) and finally there is still this feelgood vibe that has been around this server since day 1. The only thing that has caused a negative shift is the influx of a specific kind of players due to CoV and the introduction of PvP but these are minor bursts that are easily put behind. And Lode you are not the only one who wants a community to be open people like Empath,Aerie,Gen,HM,Proxy,Pyra,etc etc who are long term subs here would be long gone if there was a general downhill slide of this place. You are not the only one who would go if things got hectic here.
This whole thing is getting overdramatized imho with no obvious reason.

I am sorry but this is wrong. Noone can dictate me who is good to team with. My SG is small i like to level up with them and that makes me play in small teams with people from my SG and coalition. Thats is not clique thats is having friends and actually hanging around with them. You cant seriously tell me just because i not go in PUG's thats means i am clique. I have to point out here that if this is the case its getting personal between you and the people that have this behaviour towards you and in my opinion simply remove from list if you are sure this behaviour is on purpose.

However calling the community events a drag as posted in the hami raid thread and saying that community is derailing because you are facing indeed some hard time with certain people is uncalled for.The majority of the long term core here is trying really hard and all doing their best to keep this place we care about intact and to keep it going despite the cracks we seem to receive occasionally either from imature players or from devs at times. Bridger Jaws and the rest of red names in EU as well as majority of this community care loads for this place and do their best so is a bit uncalled to point out its derailing as a whole due to some people simply being imature towards you if this is the case. Simply ignore and move on plenty of awsome people out there to hang out with.Tbh i havent noticed anything against you on the various global channels i am in in fact some pretty good convos in Evo chat as usual and always fun. So simply ignore and move on.

This is the basic reason why cliquing as you call it goes on right now within the server. People dont want the few hours that come to escape and have fun to be ruined with profanity and abuse and harassment that spits out at occasions through the channels. Hence they maintain a tight circle of people they rely on to enjoy and keep having fun. The whole community spirit is still there but it has been somewhat erm spoiled i think is word by the shift that took place sometime ago.

CoH community still stands out as one of the best out there. The people that compose this place are pretty unique and although we have our ups and downs and clashes and sometimes a fair share of mishaps its still friendly and pleasent to hang around here. Yes there are the usual lurkers like Wingy and FFM and many many more but the usual tone is very good debate and joking around with people that are from a different server and u not see at in game. This is where everyone meets up when they are supposed to work. No profanity and always civilised (with the occasional mishaps ) is what clearly makes this place fun to hang around and useful. For 1 year now its been always fun on the boards even if game got hectic at times

Here is where i start to disagree at some point.First of all cliques within a forum is kinda hard to form up especially when the forum relies on debate and presenting arguements to what you have to say regarding the issues raised. As far as within the game goes depends what you call cliques. As you notice most people posting here they clearly state that they stick with SG avoid pugs and generally stick where they feel comfortable with. This can be called clique. You have to remember that the more you know a certain group of people and more time you spend with them the more bonded you get and this is how human nature is.

A community event is a gathering of people where people you not like might be there. Defiant has gone through many changes right after ED and CoV launch. I had same discussion with Silver weasel the other day and it seems its same on Union. Mainly when CoV was introduced a whole new breed of players droppped in this game making the whole place shift. What i mean by that is there has been an increase in terms of abuse and harassment as well as an increase in harsh in game situations. This is one of the reasons you see these cliques in game as well. People dont easily go in pug teams now and prefer the established circles of coalition/global channels for teaming and having fun. And this is the change you actually see regarding Defiant since it was quite different before.

Hmmmm this is really situational..i got currently a full global friends list and i use it mainly to look up people i need to talk to etc.I always say hi in 4 different channels so i not leave anyone outside rather than sending tells etc and from that point on people can see i am online and send me tells.Thats of course the way i go.

the first part sounds really familiar i seen it before.All you got to do is not let things like this get to you.For coalition chat since the Warriors are on coalition with us all i can say for sure is i know that usually in coal chat when someone asks a team and there is no space or nothing really going on there is usually silence.Its not like noone wants you on team.At least thats how i see it.As for the global chat channels i know many people that while missioning turn the global tabs off.At least i do usually due to my current UI arrangement.
