Description: The Silver Guard is an RP-based supergroup exclusively for heroes of security level 10 or higher with a heroic costume and a bio (sorry but dark heroes, such as Spawn, wouldn't mesh well with our group). We are a close-knit family who are justifiably proud of the group we've built. We have approximately 30+ members of all archetypes and levels (including kheldians), though the bulk of our membership are in the 30s. Regarding membership, players who join the Silver Guard are required to log in once every 14 days, or make a short post on the forums explaining that they will be absent for a time. This helps us to keep our roster from filling up with people who join and are never seen again. We believe in fair play, having fun, being social, trust and friendship. Our core values of 'Protection, Respect, Truth and Trust' are very important to us, and we try to maintain those values at all times.

There are two dedicated arms of the Silver Guard: The Silver Guardians (who are PvE oriented and have opted not to participate in PvP), and the Silver Knights (the PvP arm of the supergroup). Membership in either group is completely optional, and beyond PvP events, our supergroup runs all kinds of special events together, regardless of affiliation with the Knights or Guardians. We have costume contests, run task forces, aid each other in missions, and generally have a great time. We're quickly becoming one of the most recognized and respected young supergroups on Virtue, and our ranks increase every day.

If this sounds like the kind of supergroup you've been looking for, please feel free to check out our website. The application process is relatively simple, and you'll have an opportunity to meet with one or more Silver Guard members in-game to make sure our group is right for you. We look forward to hearing from you!
  2. Eh. In tells, or if there's just the two of us in a team, I just drop to OOC without the (()) if it's understood that both of us are OOC.. besides, if you can't tell if I'm IC or OOC without the (()), I'm prolly doing something wrong anyways. =^^=

In an RP context, however, all channels are RP. Broadcast can be IC if it's in the D, same with in the SG base. For me, SG/Coalition chat is always IC.

But then, it depends on the people you're with.. if out of every 30 sentences only one is IC, maybe you ought to drop to unbracketed OOC.. Especially in PuGs, where it's clear that there are no other RPers, or you aren't IC. RPing in non RPing PuGs is an exercise in futility, anyway.. only rarely has it ever paid off, for me.

    Just MHO. =^^=
  3. Think about it. Is the complaint that everyone is running around with the same powers, just because of variety's sake? NO! The problem is that blasters/stalkers are running around with an overpowered set, trivialising PvP.

And you want the other sets buffed to that point? You want all blasters functioning on EM levels?

    You're crazy.

I grant you that some sets are underperforming. There's no question that if you have /fire, sometimes, you may as well not have a secondary in PvP. Sure, buff /fire if you want, for blasters. The fact that EM is over powered doesn't mean that the other sets are underpowered - there can be both at the same time.

But to say that /claws or /spines or /MA stalkers are underpowered? That you can ignore them in PvP, the way that EM ignores just about any defence you can have? That we should have every single stalker on EM levels?

    You're crazy.

There is nothing particularly overpowered about stalker EM.

  6. The reason it lights is because fire or energy attacks set it alight. The reason why Arrows kills the slick is because the lethal part kills the slick, and not the fire part. Therefore, a pure energy attack such as Ball Lightning will 100% light the slick.

IIRC, healing aura does it too. =P
  7. I saw one gunner in Port Oakes having a firefight with another gunner...

    "Line of Sight! Try it!"
