I have a DM/DA scrapper who is a beast and love playing him, BUT I've also discovered that you really can't build a brute the same way and expect him to survive. Thus, you have to put more emphisis on Death Shroud, Dark Regeneration and Dark Consumption to keep yourself vertical in large mobs or dicy situations.

With that said, here is the build I'm currently using and it's working out fairly well. I've just hit lvl 29 and don't even have DS, yet I was able to demolish every mob (6-min/2-Lt) during a solo AE farm I ran this morning with little trouble. I would imagine that once DS is fully slotted, this brute will be one serious monster:

Of course, ymmv due to playstyle, but at least this will give you another option to consider.
Ok I have a DM/DA Brute and love him to death and I have to say first DA does offer decent resistance though I have found that in my current build that the trick to any dark set is too balance your healing powers with your
resistance. I decided to focus alot of my sets with regneration/HP in mind and has worked out very well. There is a balance in which works very very
well as your resistance will mitigate some of the damage, your increased
regeneration will help to take more damage, and above all else with your
heals siphon life and dark regeneration you will be very highly survivable. As for the end issues with endurance reductions and stamina its pretty
much not abn issue too much either. I personally think the balance listed above is the true key to DA.
  2. Hey all and just wanted to start by saying Hi and wanted to ask a few questions for advice on my Brute. Well to start off I rebuilt him for PVP and as
of now he has a very nice healing/regeneration toon more than ever before. My first question and correct me if I am wrong is that touch of fear has a very nice Mag fear affect and hit debuff and heard it can be pretty nice in PVP. If either was the case would it mae more sense to slot it for hit debuff ather than fear with DR in place? Anyother opinions or advice on Dark Brutes would be great thanx.

I belive the PFF build will be better since i can get a major defence boost and with aid self i can get my hp back so long as i'm not on caltrops or have another dot on me, i'm open for the hibernoob build too i just think the PFF one will be better since there is no 90 second cooldown on the pff but there is on hiber (curse you no phase) and so long as i'm not in the red i can get out quicker and prevent my target from using hiber (which they r bound to have) or rest which some people use when u hiber, i would slot my stamina better but i don't know where to steal slots from sure i can take 1 from bone smash but thats it as far as i can see
First off PFF in any Arena/PVP has been nerfed and I will tell you that just about anything will blow right past your defense even though you do have resistance with it. I personally would take as a Patron set Electric armor, Power Surge, and the Mu Guardian which can heal you as a buff. The scorpian shield and Pff are like having nothing as you will be seeing the ground more than anything else as I discovered many times. I agree Max your HP, good damage, and Accuracy. I suggest Maxing out your power push as KB is going to be nerfed again as Blessing of the Zephyrs are planned to be nerfed too. Good luck hope it helps.
