You're referring to the release of I6? That was on training pretty short if I remember correctly, but then again, they did have an official deadline of CoV pushing them. This time they're free to just take an extra 2 weeks.
Anyways, this thread is about the arena brawl, and about how much I'm gonna kick butts there

Considering it's not on the trainingroom yet, I highly doubt it will be on live in 2 weeks!

I too am running a kinetics char, and I still think getting a travelpower is not necesary. Siphon Speed is almost as good as super speed, the only downside being you need to hit a target to activate it. But especially if you're taking super speed as a travelpower, you may want to consider just not getting it, and using Siphon speed to get around. Saves you an extra powerslot.

Incidentally, doing this could let you take hover. Why hover? Once you reach SO lvls, you will be nearly teleporting around the map when you stack siphon speed twice. This can literally get u killed. Hover slows you down a lot, but with double siphon speed means you still move about as fast as normal flight. This is more then fast enough to maneuver in a fight, and not so fast you'll overshoot targets.
Most importantly, hover will protect you from knockback, which is deadly from the lvl 25ish region!!!

I'd just like to thank Max and heck, the rest of EVIL too, for me getting my healer badge tonight. I know how much Max loves to give the Violators stuff (like a bigger ego, every time he cowers when we challenge him), and I thought it'd be appropriate to thank him for this!

So, is repel usefull for PvP? Let's say I'm a corruptor raiding a base, and I want to keep those pesky brutes and especially stalkers at bay, will this work? Or will their knockback resistance make the power useless for this goal?

Anyways, I've also got an energy/kinetics. I must say it really isnt that bad. When you've got siphon speed, you can get to your target in the blink of an eye anyways. If your knockback attack throws him away a couple of yards, you will be right there anyways. (just hit follow and you will zoom right to your target)
Not to mention the fact that you'll mostly rely on single target attacks, and you are rarely fighting a single target. Just shoot one and debuff the other. I really dont think the knockback is an issue.

I have a lvl 16 called .Kosmos but he takes a long time lvling (limited time available to me). Once you catch up to him a bit send me a tell and we'll do some teaming

True, demand differs per team. But a stalker that takes the initiative to form a team will always be able to do so. Besides, they can definetely be usefull for taking out the bosses in groups. It's just not a lot of stalkers that realise they need to focus on this and not stuff like minions or LTs.

Always keep in mind you should play what you like. Dont mind the opinions of others too much, in general you'll always get a team going no matter what your AT if you go about it the right away. (for example, dont be reliant on invites, and invite others to form your own team)
Dont worry about what everyone else does and just pick the AT you find most appealing

You were hard to get tho Max (from a brute perspective), I dont think there was anyone that was as slippery as you hehehe.
I also thought letting heroes in was a bad idea. A villain group with a hero amongst em just doesnt make sense. Villains only next time?

Well I had a great time. Base raids are amazingly fun, but 5 SGs fighting randomly in the street is possibly one of the coolest things you can do

I *definetely* think this should be done on a regular base. Monthly sounds good. Any other people that are interested?

I have been playing for quite a while now, but have only limited experience with Rob/FF MMs. However, I can point you in the right direction. Of extreme use are the boards, both these and the american ones: US Boards

Go to the playerguides section, and then the guide to guides thread. (page 1 has a very detailed list)
Or to be more specific, here is the MM guide section.

For your forcefield powers, you might want to look at the Defender guide section. (these are archetypes in CityofHeroes, and they have had the ForceField powerset for much longer, therefore there are more guides available. Your powersets arent identical, but VERY similar)

As a final note, posts with questions like these should be made in the player questions forum
