  1. I don't know about it just being a client issue. That first day they wouldn't respond to petcomall. Fortunately since the quick fix maint they did on the servers I have only seen it happen once (I think), and it seemed to be fixed by clearpetnames.

On that point there is an issue with pet names getting scrambled a bit. It doesn't matter for most sets. On my Mercs I was finding the name I'd allocated my pull pet (DeadMeat) was occasionally getting stuck onto my Medic (DocSuicide) who'd run off and get killed when I hit the macro.

I set up some binds to rename the pets, so when it happens I just hit CTRL+N three times and it resets them all.
  2. I quite like Suppress Pain:

The heal effect isn't fabulous, but it's about 40ish% as strong as Nullify Pain.
The bubble isn't huge (36% the area of NP)

Multiply those two and you get it healing maybe 16% as much as Nullify Pain.

But that's not the whole story:

    * As it's a regen boost I think higher Hit Point ATs (i.e. EVERYONE else) will benefit from it more, with Brutes getting probably 80% of NP out of it.

    * If you can position your pets and the team can stick together the bubble's not a *bad* size.

    * It's a Toggle, so it leaves you unrooted and free to chase the pets, heal, or shoot things (yep, I'm one of *those* MM players - I have to shoot things or I get bored).

    * The self-regen boost is mostly unmolested by the Share Pain debuff, which only cancels the base regen.

    * End usage is so low it's practically free, no reason to turn it off.
  3. Suggestion:

    * Let Trial accounts send tells to Global Friends.

There doesn't seem any in-game way to know when a friend is playing if they're on a Trial. At least if a Global Friends rule was in place I'd only have to trade one phone call to set it up.

Many valid animations for captives and allies are not listed in the animation selection menu. Such animations can be added manually via editing the mission in a text editor, but the animation will be dropped again the next time the mission is edited and saved through the MA interface.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sometimes the select list for animations doesn't seem to be consistent, either, and you can lose an animation that you had selected on the next time you enter into the MA interface.

Last I looked (after the last patch, I think), animation availablility varied depending on the type of the objective strangely. For example I could choose some animations (WalkieTalkie) on an enemy that are unavailable on an captive using the same model.

For a while I was just editing the .storyarc, but couldn't be bothered after a while and set it back as my second choice animation.

The animation is changed in Issue 11 (not sure if this was before 11, I've been leveling my daughter's dress up brute to get fly/wings).

Flares are back in baby! Now, off to the disco!

Endurance costs of some sets (Jan 13th)

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm of two minds about the End cost for /Icy.
Ice attacks have a recharge debuff, so are buying some control as well as damage with that end. So, it's not unreasonable for Icy attacks to cost more for the same damage.

I guess the question in my mind is - "does the End premium the Icy is paying match the cost of an equivalent control power". Can a dom with /Icy forgo using some control set usage and use that end for damage instead?

I'm not sure that was clear even to me - so to put it another way: Is the problem that /Icy costs too much end, or that it is right for what it does but encourages overcontrol?

EDIT: I wonder if the devs have gathered exciting live stats on how much Icy/ control is wasted on average in attacks on mezzed opponents and if so if they factor that into cost.
  7. I don't believe Cinders takes range enhancements anymore. Will double check.

EDIT: Double checked and it still takes Range. I went onto test pre I9 to test this very thing and I swear it didn't take Range enhs then. Maybe I have a brain thing happening....

I've made up a little zip file with a silence.ogg and a batch file to copy it to all (I think) of the power sound files to give a starting point for working out what your particular sound file is.

Changed ISPs, so here's an updated link for when the old one gets around to disabling the web space.

  9. I've made up a little zip file with a silence.ogg and a batch file to copy it to all (I think) of the power sound files to give a starting point for working out what your particular sound file is.

There's a powerogg.txt file in the zip explaining what to do.

Please look at the .bat before running it because
    1) You should never just run some batch file someone sticks up on the internet without checking it first
    2) Looking at it will let you see what it's doing in case my instructions are incomprehensible garbage/misleading
    3) It may just be broken somehow... horribly horribly broken...

    http://members.westnet.com.au/pengui...ent_powers.zip

When you work out what the sound is please post it back here for others.
If there is something horribly horribly broken in my zip please let me know. :-)

    rage loop is: glow6_loop.ogg
    unyielding: forcefield5_loop.ogg

    [/ QUOTE ]

After a lot of hair pulling it turns out that the Rage loop is actually the forcefield5_loop
    Description: Rage looping sound
    Folder name: powers
    File name: forcefield5_loop.ogg

I guess the moral is "if in doubt silence Forcefield5_loop"
  11. For the cash strapped amongst us:

    ## If possible respec at the same level you'd buy your new SOs, before you buy your new enhancements.

After you choose your powers and the number of slots in each one your current enhancements get put in a big bucket for reallocation. If you don't allocate them to your powers or your ten loose enhancement slots they will be sold at what seems to be around the price you'd buy them from a vendor.

So, by repecing at level *2 or *7:
    - Old enhancements you'd effectively lose when you replace them give you back a bucket of cash
    - If you're doing a radical respec and need to buy a lot of new enhancements they are the best value you can get as they're the highest level you can use and will last a full seven levels - all the way to your next SO purchase.

    ## Consider turning off SG Mode
