Hi all,

Recently returned after a long time away and looking to start playing my old WS again.

He currently has a horrible build (not sure what issue, but he still has fitness as a selected pool not inherent, mostly SOs with a few IOs and only 1 human only build set up).

So I have done lots of reading around the forums and seen some really great builds, but I only seem to have about 10 mil. I have started to flip salvage and such to build up some cash, but I would like to find a starter build to get myself playing while I save up for a nice purple perma eclipse build for trials and such.

I have no pref on forms, just something so I can get back into playing him asap.

Any tips on a cheap beginner build?

Hi all,

I rolled a character to have a go at some PvP a while back, but got side tracked leveling him and never got around to actually doing any.

He is currently on Victory but as there are free transfers at the moment I am thinking about moving him to a different server. Which is the most active? I have seen most of the events seem to happen on test or freedom, but do I need to move to be able to play? Could I stay on Vic (As my SG is here and I can easily find teams for getting the money together for a good arena build. )

I am interested in doing all types of PvP.

took a bit of finding, but found my old thread.

I have taken some time off and am now going to get my defender finally slotted up.

I looked at the suggestions and have tried to make a build to give perma-AM.

Not overly experienced in the build making side of things so any glaring mistakes let me know. I did notice my defenses are a bit low. any way to improve them without killing the +rchrg?

I did have to put a purple set into thunder stirke to get that last bit of +rchrg, Gonna be pricey. anyone think of a better way?

One other quick question, what lvl should these hancies be?

Is it better spend the cash and get em all lvl 50s? or should I get the procs lower so they exemp down (never know what I may end up doing with the char)

Wow, Thanks for all the suggestions. I put the build up cos I knew it had gaping holes in it. I can suck it up and deal with being told I am a muppet.

Never been to worried about not having a travel power. This guy was rolled just after I did my VEAT 1-50 in the first 2 weeks of launch so was not as obsessed with them. He still has the temp travel powers if he needs some vertical movement =)

I know BF was an issue. As I said, I logged onto him after my 6 months break and that is what he had.

I take it you all seem to mean, have tough, put the steadfast in it, but dont run it?

And cheers for the tip on the export. Was wondering which format to use.

Now to go make some money to buy what I need. Prices seemed to have risen a bit during my abscence...

Which sets could I pick up for end recov without sacrificing my Def

Logged on to my DB/SR last night after a while of not playing him and realised I had almost finished IO's him up. So a couple of mil more and he was done. Am V happy. He is tough and spits out lots of dmg.

But his end is a bit of a prob, I get pretty much drained fighting EBs. Any suggestions to help this?

That is a valid point on hasten. Normally I dont take it unless I think the build needs it (Have it on my Arch blaster). I dont really have end issues (powersink covers that) But keeping AM up would benefit the team more. Will look into it.

When I am teaming I enjoy being the tanks BFF. I hide next to his ear and dump my debuffs, once they are up and the tank has aggro, I then make merry with short cir > Powersink > Ball lightning. Maybe thunderstike makes me happy sometimes. But am aware of the KB. Heal is spammed as needed. Don't seem to have any issues with end (due to power sink mainly).

If I was to work out a purple build what would I get out of it. Obviously and tank goes for def/resist. A blaster and scrapper goes from def/recharge/dmg. What should a defender look for? would I be able to increase my dmg by much? would it be worth it? Or do I just go for survivability and recharge?

After some time I have finally got my Rad/Elec to 50 and I have loved every minute of it. At high lvls I just shout 'Rad def LFT' and I seem to get a team. I love the sets and love the fact I feel I am really contributing to a team.

But now I am wondering, should I spend money on sets? I know why tanks and blasters and scrappers would want to. What benefit does a def get out of it? What should I be aiming for in way of soft caps?

TBH I have never had much experience of getting builds together above SO lvl. Any ideas?

Trying to get this one to work, but having issues. First, it tells me that /send is an unknown command. I tried altering it but I then get that i am not a member when I use - instead of space in the channel name

Don't worry BW, I will be fine. My personal mental health coach, Barry McGodlike, says it is fine to drink after midday. He also says that it is midday at anytime so why the [Censored] haven't I got the beers in yet, am I some kind of pansy who wears womens clothing and doesn't eat raw meat or drink? He then hits me with a wet fish until I begin to cry.

This is to help me deal with my mental issues and my pride. Because unless I learn that I am scum and I will never amount to anything God will always hate me. I must also learn that I am filled with dirty sin and only by following his advice to the letter without question do I have any hope of becoming well again.

I hope I get better soon as my friends have stopped talking to me on the grounds that I 'smell like a convention for unwashed ladies'. Not to mention that I am now barred from all farm animal markets. ( PS I hope the cow is better farmer Davies, I didn't want to do that to it but I needed to to become sane again)

But I trust Doctor Godlike, or 'My most worshipful Grand Overfiend' as his University Degree has deemed he be called. It is apparently a very good university. He went to Essex Bay uni (he gets rather cute and shortens it to E-Bay). I have not heard of this place so it must be VERY exclusive, kind of like Hogwarts. They gave him a certifcate and everything!!!

Hi! My name is Swifty and I just spent 2 Weeks with 200 children/teenagers on an Army Cadet Force camp. All that time as a platoon officer would have killed me if it wasn't for BW. I owe my sanity to the fact that I sat there rocking myself gentley to sleep knowing that all you pestulent dogs were reading the story before me. Malcom disappeared after the first week. He returned later with a little bit of entrail hanging from his mouth, but I am sure that it was from a bird or something. As is the braclet that says 'Tina' and the wallet.

No, There is a whole Army of forum Mods, They tend to strike without overt posting. Normally the just delete or edit.

But, Listen closely,

DO NOT incur the wrath of CuppaJo. For she is terrible in her a fury, yet cuddly and happy in her joy.

But for the most part she is the best mod around. Just don't push the limits.

I don't think that she is the top boss. But she is definately the front face of CoH on the boards. There are a few other mods, but CJ is our favourite.

Jack (Statesman) is kind of the overall boss so I guess him.
