Quote:I sure hope that is the case. The Ramiel arc is terrific (hero side, I still need to run it for my test villain once they fix the Recluse/Statesman mission).I'm pretty sure that's the way it is now, too. However, we should test that theory to make sure what was once in the code is now removed.
I'll make a note about that until we get confirmation.
I am finally happy they they pulled it from Going Rogue and made us wait. -
Quote:I'd totally buy that booster pack.I've been thinking about something another MMO I've been playing has just started doing.
In addition to issues like we get here they have just started releasing storyarcs spaced out over a few weeks. What happens is they release the first mission on a Saturday and then each following week they release the next installment in the story arc. At the end of the story arc (and before the release of the next story arc) they give a special reward to everyone that completes the story arc in that time frame. The reward is the same for everyone.
This has generated a lot of interest from the playerbase and their servers are hopping each Saturday with people eager to do the next installment, and they spend the week between and the time before the next story arc running their alts thru the missions to get the reward.
I think something like that here could do a lot to keep people interested between the release of new issues.
That would actually be a pretty sweet thing for level 50 characters since they wouldn't have to worry about outleveling it and it would be at least one special "end game" thing. -
Quote:Yeah, well I am sick of all the people spamming broadcast in Atlas Park to form their sewer farms. I mean sewer "teams".I'm not saying that people should play how I want them to play, I'm saying that I would like to play the way I want to play with others who like to play the same without the intrusion of farming. (No confusion at all right?) If others find farming fun thats fine but I would really prefer if there were two zones for Atlas Park this way they can have their fun while I can have mine. It's not a huge problem because most players who don't farm rarely visit Atlas Park, it's not a huge problem but I just wanted to see reactions and arguments. Sewer teams are not farming, if this was farming the size of enemy groups would have been reduced long ago. I've also never paid for a sewer team
I'm trying to read all the broadcast spam about the costume contests and your kind of players are messing that up for me. -
Padme Amidala.
Oh boo hoo, my rage filled loverboy is actually truly evil. I just cannot live and shall orphan my children because I lost the will to live. -

Quote:I would too. But you know that the whiner brigade would be whining about those instead of the boosters. I have found there is no end to their ability to find something to complain about even if they have to make up things that have not happened but might.Yeah true. Though they say most expansions are optional, in reality they are not.
As a personal aside, would I rather have had expansions in this game instead of the boosters: Yes.
When I played EQ I bought each expansion and enjoyed it. Just as I will do here for boosters that have something I want. All the handwringing in the world by the tremblers won't affect my decisions in the slightest. -
Quote:I did. Perhaps you don't understand that you cannot control which one you get and you cannot get a different one for the duration of the one you do get. It's just one of the six powers, yeah, the others are a power that's almost as good as the Weave pool power for no End Cost, another that's as good (or better) than many of the Auto defense powers in Brute defense sets, and the one that gives the End Redux/Regen/Status Resistance.
At least four of them provide very significant bonuses for a significant period of time.
Maybe you should actually READ what the power can do?
You were the one who singled out +Recharge and I was responding to it.
Meanwhile someone who knows what they are doing doesn't need it. They use IOs and/or base empowerment station buffs.
You are welcome to be concerned about things that aren't a concern to thinking people who know what they are doing but don't expect us to join you trembling in the corner as you dodge every intelligent rebuttal to your irrational concerns. -
Quote:That even works for trying to get quick bargains or making good sales.variation on Option 2: find someone else's niche and 'cut in line' so to speak.
10,000,000
3,001,100
3,001,100
10,000,000
3,001,100
someones buying stacks at 3,001,110.
You can't know what they're doing with them, but it is safe to assume theres PROFIT involved.
Place a stack of bids at 3,001,101 (I like to go one over so they know someone's messing with them) and figure out what to do with them later. =P
(in the hypothetical case above, I'd probably just re-list them at 5m or so for quick, mindless profit) -
Quote:Nope. But the others tended to sell expansions on a regular basis with prices relative to the time frames between them.uhhhh I agree with boosters being used, but I have to ask, has ANY modern mmo increased it's sub fees from where it originally started?
They're going to get their money one way or another. -
Quote:Make it happen. You think +30% Recharge makes little difference? That's more than +Rech than Accelerated Metabolism gives.
Go ahead. I'll wait.
There are 6 powers. If the devolution rarely happens and we choose to ignore it you have a 20% chance every 20 minutes for that boost. Good luck.
Meanwhile there is a base empowerment buff for 20% I can have whenever I want.
Do you know anything about playing this game? -

Quote:Teleporter with 1 hour timer. A waste when in the same zone so of only occasional usefulness. You can teleport instantly to missions, get a permanent assemble the team, teleport to Pocket D from anywhere, the 30 second jump pack, the Secondary Mutation (+30% recharge for 20 minutes, 15% Movement Speed, 30% Regen/30% End Discount/50% Resist to Hold/Stun/Sleep/Immob/Terror, +5% Def(Smash, Lethal, Energy, Fire, Cold, Negative), +3% Acc 60% Perception +3% Def(Ranged, AoE, Melee), Devolution) and finally the Super Tailor.
Heck, the Secondary Mutation alone provides significant boosts (most of the chances, anyway) for a long period of time.
Plus, it's cumulative, everything they add will combine with everything they have now.
Teleporter with 30 minute timer to Pocket D which may or may not be helpful. I probably used it once in the last week meanwhile I use Ouroboros TP and base TPs dozens of times a night.
30 second jump pack with 3 minute timer.
You only get one of the secondary mutations at a time and one is a 2 minute can't do anything as a Rikti monkey.
Super Tailor? Oh I see a huge benefit in changing my character's gender. Are you throwing that in because you don't know what it does or to try to make it seem so overwhelming?
You sure are making your case there to anyone who doesn't actually have the ability to use them on one account and not use them on another to see how little difference they actually make. -
I can only echo the subject line for "Mr. C" to rest in peace.
-
Quote:Nice try but if you want to defend your position in ignorance close your eyes because since last November we got:That's because they were busy on the expansion =P Now that that's out of the way they can work on other booster packs alongside the issue work instead of it.
Mutant Booster
Issue 17
Issue 18/GR
Party Pack
And they are still today working on Issues 19 and 20. You've convinced me. The game is doomed. -
Quote:I have 3 accounts and only one has all that yet neither of the other two are suffering as you seem to claim they should be.Yes, because a full attack chain at level 1, early travel powers, and a load of other small boosts equal to 0.0002.
I've been getting early travel power of flight since they added the safeguards and mayhems.
Perhaps if you would list all these amazing small boosts I get at level 1?
Ninja Run? Nope level 4.
Early Travel power? Level 6 at the earliest though I don't take it there because there are more useful real powers to take.
My buff pet?
I get to 50 just as fast on my account with none of it as I do on my account with all of it. Your concerns are complete and utter nonsense. -
I can see that. I mean look what we got after Ninja Run was added. When was that? Oh yes it was November 12, 2009. They have certainly gone running pell mell into overpowering us in the last year with these things.
-
I am concerned that they will stop selling Super Boosters due to a slippery slope of scaring people who don't think about them and get concerned over nothing.
-
-
Quote:Yes you keep writing that as if it has been unbalanced by the powers they have sold us.You can sell Super Boosters without unbalancing the gameplay =P
I was never against Super Boosters, I'm just a little concerned about the powers is all.
Perhaps you consider two things unbalanced if one is 50.0001 and the other is 49.9999 but that returns me to my mountain and molehill.
You are welcome to hold any silly assumptions and impressions you want but don't expect others thinking rationally to fall in line with you. -
Quote:They aren't handing them out. They are selling them.Y'see, there's a difference there. They aren't hiking up the price, but they are giving out powers. Meaning one's being increased, you know, like math. Where one number stays the same, and one changes. Y'see how things can be different like that?
I'm just saying they need to be careful with the powers they hand out.
And if they aren't "careful" and decide to sell a PvE super power for $10? Then what? People will quit because someone else can beat the same enemy with one attack less than those without?
What if they decide not to sell that power? Then it is a valid concern they would have to raise subscription prices to keep the game going. Or just shut down the game.
So given the choice of:
a) NC selling booster powers
b) NC raising subscription prices
c) NC shutting down City
You find option "a" to be the worst one? -

Quote:I heard we didn't land on the moon and that Elvis is alive. For example, from what I've heard, it's possible with Hurdle for Ninja Run to be better at Horizontal movement than Super Jump. And with i19, Hurdle's going to become completely inherent.
Does that sound like Ninja Run's a simple novelty power?
If you can get Hurdle + Ninja Run to get you over 150 yards in a single bound, let me know. Meanwhile I will keep Super Jump. -
Quote:Written that way it seems like a major issue but when I play on my account without them and my account with them while I miss them they hardly inhibit my ability to play or level.Look, I don't mind booster packs myself, just the unbalancing nature of the combined mini-powers.
In other words "making a mountain out of a molehill." -
A player wants it. A player doesn't want to pay extra for it. A player rationalizes why they shouldn't have to pay extra for it.
Meanwhile at McDonalds meals go up. In vending machines and at convienence and grocery stores snacks and drinks go up. At the bars and restaurants and liquor stores, alcoholic beverages go up.
But if after 6 years the monthly sub goes up or items get sold to prevent that...
