He said Tuesday. He should have said Thursday...
Personally I think any AT under 50 isn't going to be much use.... -
My favourite tactic is to wait for them to start fighting someone or something else, then swoop in. Or, to ask them a question or wait until they are typing something, then attack.
And yes, I do play a hero, before you ask... -
And another thing!
Why dod people as soon as they get murdered a few times shout NERF This, NERF That.
The correct thing to do would be to come on these boards, explain the problem and see if anyone can come up with a solution to the problem. Instead of shouting Nerf from the get go and assuming that there is some hideous imbalance in the game.....and it certainly can't be due to the fact that they are complete donkey schlongs when it comes to PvP! -
Rubbish. Although it was fun getting my PvP score much higher.

To whoever said 'why are there so many threads complaining about stalkers if there isn't a problem with them'?
The reason is that stalkers find it quite easy to kill unsuspecting players. Its a sharp wake up call for them. But if that puts them off then are those really the sort of noobs us PvP'er swant around? People who fall at the first hurdle and give up? The weak? The lame? The meek?
They would just cry again when blasters or controllers started killing them.
The would be like...'Holds are over powered! Neft holds!I got held for 30 seconds and couldn't do anything about it!'
You'd say to them, did you take a break free and they would say that they didn't believe that you should have to take break frees or respec to get some mez protection.
Same with stalkers - get some yellows, some +perception or do one sunshine!
Like I say - stalkers are there to sort the wheat out from the chaff. You cry about them and you know which one you are...
Back to my original point about the person who said that. well I'm sure that many people complain about taxes. Doesn't mean they are wrong and should be abolished. I'm sure many Daily Mail (spit) readers complain about loads of things. doesn't mean we should listen to those thick idiots. Isn't it the daily mail that harps on about how computer games will turn all children into killers? Millions read the daily mail....does that mean they are right?
In conclusion, the majority should not be listened to because the majority are thick as pig poop and don't even know whats good for themselves, nevermind anyone else.

At the end of the day - I kill more stalkers than kill me. I have been killed twice by stalkers and I must have killed about 15 of them.
If I can kill them, then anyone can (who hasn't chosen bad pvp powers) with the right powers.
I can see most of them, I can out manauver most of them and I can out think most of them. There are very few stalkers that escape all 3 of those categories (think of a ven diagram folks).
Stalkers are like the noob PvP's champion. Easy to build an effective noob killer stalker, but up against a player that knows what they are doing, stalkers have a very hard time indeed.
And yes, this is another 'you suck if you can't handle stalkers' because its true. But then again, its easier to say that an AT is overpowered than to admit that you suck monkey twanger.
The point where you first avoid being one shotted from a hidden foe is when you are chooing your powers, not when you are stood in the middle of sirens call expecting a fair fight! Your chance at a fair fight is when picking your powers. You get the wrong ones and its TS mo fo. -
Why do some people think that every 2-bit build should be able to cope with every situation and every AT in PvP?
You can't do a lousey PvP build and expect it to work.
IMHO, most builds need invis and one +perception power to be decent at PvP. Fly is also a boon in many cases and TP.
Not saying thats perfect, but those powers will allow you to cope with many situations. -
I also have a 50 PB. She is 2 form really as I have concentrated on squid and lobster powers almost exclusively. This does mean though that I did have to take some human form powers for the sake of it.
I slotted up all my powers for both forms and then took the invis and medicine pool....which can be handy in an emergency and make PvP scouting much easier and safer. I have found them quite handy to be honest. -
Sweet Chilli - controller, 50, char (six slotted - WALLOP!)
-
I was thinking of this too.
Sometimes you want them a little more spread out so those AoE attacks aren't hitting them all... -
Sorry - I don't think no PvP was Coh's USP. I am sure there are planty of MMORPG out there with no PvP.
CoH's USP was the ability to be a superhero in a MMORPG world with decent graphics (as I'm sure there's a MUD out there that allows the former). -
And saying that you don't feel like you can refuse a contact or a mission is rubbish.
Thats a self imposed rule....and is due to you being a mental head-case. Nothing to do with the game.
Its like me saying that I don't like contacts who's name begins with the letter z. The game I bought didn't have contacts with the name Zack. However, as a hero I don't feel I can refuse to visit a contact. CHANGE THEIR NAMES PLEASE!
Weird mental rule that has nothing to do with anyone else except the demons in your head.
Of course heroes have to be selective. They do it all the time. Plenty of level 50's don' stop and defeat level 1 baddies who are robbing people. Do you stop every crime you see? No - because there are lesser heroes to take care of that - you're after Mr Big. So you leave the small crime because otherwise the big crime catching chance would be lost. Same could apply in the PvP zones. Leave the crimes in there to the heroes who are better equiped to dealing with villians due to the high level of villian activity.
Use that to surpress the sweet, sweet demons in your head. -
WildDok, did you buy a game that promised never to have any OPTIONAL PvP content?
What promises were there written on the box? Did it say that the game wasn't subject to change?
IMHO choice is a good thing. You have a choice to completely ignore the PvP side of things if your morals will allow you.
You remind me of people who complain about programs they have watched on TV. They can always turn the thing off...but instead continue to complain about something that others enjoy that they didn't have to watch.
