Quote:I know, right?I miss Sidney_B. There was someone who always made every conversation they took part in infinitely better.
She could wield snark like a surgeon wielded a scalpel, like a damned virtuoso on the violin, but with a casual subtlety that gave one the impression that, where she to turn her full attention on you, nothing but a charred corpse would remain. -
I can kind of see why you wouldn't be able to attack stuff in coyote form. Just imagine a coyote running around with a titan weapon clenched in its jaws, jumping up in the air "little mac" style to smack people around with it.
No, wait. That would actually be awesome. -
Dear Virtue,
So I was putzing around on the beta server, like ya do, and decided to try out the coyote travel power.
It's quite fun, I can imagine we'll be seeing a lot of them running around in pocket D shortly, doubtless with notes in their bios that say stuff like ((Coyote is actually a twelve foot long dire wolf that shoots black lightning out of its eyes. Also has pixie wings.))
One thing kinda struck me as odd, though I can see why they would do it for balance issues:
Coyote travel has the same basic move buff as ninja run. Coyotes in paragon city can jump forty feet straight into the air.
So...yeah.
<3,
Sween

Addendum:
Judges 1: 19 -
And the lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
Iron vulnerability? He's not just magic, he's a fey creature. -
Speaking things into being? Animating clay figures? Turning towns to ash and people to salt?
Sounds a lot like magic to me. -
You know, I'm positive there's quite a few people who would love to do this, and giving the obscene dearth of PVP on this server...why not start?
I'm sure there's more than a few people reading this now who are in SGs and know folks in VGs (or vice versa) that can organize up a little storyline brawl.
Hell, even within your own SG (or even circle of friends) you could hop into warburg and throw together a blueside fight club, or live-fire sparring, or "grown up paintball" as a team building exercise.
You know what? I'll take the initiative here. My global's in the sig, If someone wants to start a rivalry or something, I've got lots of characters on both sides from a bunch of backgrounds. Hit me up.
If this works out to something interesting I'll post a topic here so we can get a few more participants/audience/whathaveyou. -
Let's see...
First thing that comes to mind when I think of this is "lots of different, varied things," which to me means thugs/traps MM. The big bruiser dude is all tattoo'd up too, if I recall correctly, which is also sorta thematic with the various colors of paint.
You could even be kown for putting up huge, impressive peices that no one person could do in one night, and you do it by painting your own assistants. -
I would just like to comment on how hilarious it is that the anime and manga icon in wikipedia is an archetypically giant eye.
-
And wouldn't you know it, it's available!
My gift to you, typefappers. Use it well. -
If I were the type to ERP, I'd roll up a praetorian loyalist named "Propaganda Organ."
-
And that fourty-five second thing wasn't a joke. Seriously, grab a stopwatch and hop into pocket D sometime. You'd think people that involved in conversation would be able to type a little faster.
Blah blah blah, joke about typing one-handed, etc. -
PvP still happens?
To be honest, I don't think a PvP environment would mesh well with the lion's share of the RPers we have here. Far too much banal minutiae being rattled back and forth by people who take fourty-five seconds to type "/em nods in agreement" would be interrupted by PvP-focused people (who designed their characters less around concepts and more around pwning people's faces) running up and pwning people's faces. -
It is also not eternal night in Ouroboros (which makes sense because it's in another time), Cimeroa (ditto), The Abyss, and The Hive (hamidon's not a holiday pers-er, ameoba I guess?) either.
-
...which is itself a witty retort, or at least an attempt at one, while trying (unsuccessfully) to pull off an "I ain't even mad tho." U clearly mad, bro. U mad.
If I knew you were going to be so overly defensive for no reason, I would have honestly trolled you instead of just trying to be cute. Serves me right for being nice, I guess? -
Quote:Indeed, Mostly everything I post here is some sort of snarky joke.I don't think it was meant to be condescending; I think he was just making a funny.
Condescension, on the other hand, would look more like:
Quote:You know, that's an excellent question, capslock. If only there were some way to find out... -
Short Answer: Halloween Event.
Long Answer: uh...Haloween Event. -
Thank you for reminding me to put that back up.
that was taken in Galaxy, incidentally.
09-13-11 - NEVER FORGET. -
Whelp, after three and a third years, I've come back to what has always been my favorite game in which you can blast berobed cultists off of rooftops with giant arcs of glowing blue energy, then jump down off of said roof and punch them in the jaw, simply because you were on the way to the train station and felt like it.
So what'd I miss? -
(Very convenient that the free reactivation thing went down just as me and the wife were getting the itch to throw on the capes again, wasnt it?)
Hope you all have been well, I've been killing time (and dark elves, oooh do i hate dark elves) on a stubby AR/DEV blaster on PCP-laced mead. The game is quite fun, and while it doesn't have the frantic, 40-against-one, action oriented PVE that this game does, it's definitely nice to see PVP actually work. I never thought I'd actually like PVP after this game, but it's really a major draw for me now.
Speaking of games other than this one, Champions Online: Holy crap, just looking the clips from reviews you can see just how much content was lifted right out of CoX. Granted, Cryptic did develop this one too, and all, but come on.
Anyway, i'll probably see you all out there. Once this blasted patcher finishes, that is.
PS: Hey, Devs, long time no see. Quick question: mission building, power customization, and the ability to switch sides were like the ONLY THREE THINGS I ever wanted out of this game...did you REALLY have to wait for me to leave before letting this stuff out? Was that a conscious decision on your part, or am I just that unlucky?

What I am just furious about is the secrecy about the future of the game. WHY does it have to be such a secret. You have all these big plans for the game and are working on them already. So why can't we know what they are? We are paying our monthly fee so that the game can be updated for our enjoyment. I think that we deserve the right to know what the plans for the game are. There is no real reason to keep everything a secret for so long.

If they announced every single little thing they planned, or are working on, people would howl and scream when wanted things don't get added, or don't get added on time. This game is a service they provide, and it's never a good idea to overpromise on a service unless you know for damn sure that it's going to be provided just like you say it is.
You'll get no sympathy from me for being impatient. Especially when you pull that "we pay our 15 a month" entitlement nonsense. -
The question is, how much more full of win can this be?
And the answer is none. None more full of win. Bravo, good sir. Bravo. -
