  1. Eh...it only takes like 5 seconds for a "full" attack chain. Meaning screech, shriek, scream, shriek. At that point, the target's res is pretty significantly debuffed. If you hit them with shout at this point, it'll do quite a lot more than normal.

Of course it's not something to build a big team strategy around, as there are far better ways of getting -res on targets, but it does help, especially in 1v1 or small matches.
  2. Easiest AT's for a beginner:

    hero: scrapper
    villain: stalker

But that doesn't mean you should start on one of those. Like many people say, it really makes you a worse player if you learn the game on an AT that takes practically no skill.

Exactly. I didn't say it's impossible for a stalker to kill a tank. I said if it happens, that means there's something very wrong with the tank. And that seems to be the case here.

    Sudden Death

No need to AS. I think whoever does any damage first wins. As a stalker, that's probably a 100% guaranteed win, since you can always be the first to attack.

    PvP defence?

Defense is ok when it's something like Elude levels of defense. Anything less is basically not even noticeable. And some people will hit you with every single shot even through elude.

I was like that too with my em/regen for a few months. It felt like a joke compared to how it used to be, and I just refused to play it. But then I tried it again, and it wasn't that bad. Just gotta give it some time, and then you kinda forget the glory days, and you're ok with being a gimp.

  8. Even without caltrops or quicksand, if a tank or scrapper manages to get killed by a single stalker, there's something very wrong with that tank or scrapper.

No. While the game IS horribly broken, in this case it's mids that's broken. It's had wrong numbers since I13. While the powers do good damage, they are not as good as mids shows.

What does make them really good is that they all have a short recharge, so you can spam them non-stop. So for melee fight club, you really could get away with just having like 2-3 power pool attacks. But melee fight club is lol.
  12. I think energy is better than AR...probably better than elec and ice too.
  13. With your limitations...

EM or elec / WP or regen or Nin

WP is probably the best overall for secondary, but regen and nin can do well too.
  14. Well, at least people know about it. Maybe half a year from now, the devs will find out too. We can hope.
  15. I'm surprised that I haven't heard a single thing about this from anybody else in the community. I noticed it months ago, but that's about how often I play my widow these days, so I forgot it about it until this weekend, when I played her again.

Night widow (and fort) kb protection was IGNORED when they fixed the whole "mez suppressing kb protection" bug. That's right, it's the one kb protection left that still suppresses every time you get mezzed. Every single time. Very easy to test - simply get hit with a ko blow, and you'll go flying every time. As far as I know, this is the ONLY remaining kb protection in the game that's still bugged like this.

Has anybody heard anything about this before? Is it a known bug? Or do so few people play the AT now, that nobody cares?

I really don't understand how they could have fixed the bug for every single power in the game, except one. It leads me to believe that they simply forgot that widows are an AT in the game, because they're like 0.00001% of the PvP population now.
  16. Siphon life does cause HD. Recon and DP aren't supposed to, but I think barrier is right that recon is broken.
  17. What's the cool thing about nin these days? Thugs = damage and necro = self heals and -tohit. But what does nin have? Fast movement speed?

I never played anything besides thugs btw.
  18. Archery can do more quick burst damage than fire. But fire is capable of more damage over time in today's damage spam game. And since most fights come down to who can spam more damage over a fairly long period of time (at least compared to PvP 1.0), fire usually comes out on top.
  19. What a coincidence....I was drunk last time we teamed eps.
  20. You should be happy with EM/WP for sure.
  21. BB, do you have tactics on yur regin?

I think if you can get away with not taking stamina (and getting tactics) due to really good recovery bonuses, then yeah, regin can't be bet. For those times where you really need to AS a FF or storm, you have MoG.

Yeah, a regen stalker is really god mode as far as survivability goes. Nothing can kill you 1v1. If anything gets close, you can just phase or hiber, like all stalkers.

The (big) problem with regen is no perception and no repel protection. Especially the perception makes a really big deal. It's really annoying to not be able to see half the people in the zone.

I don't think there's any question that regen is more survivable than WP. Even the biggest WP lovers have always admitted that. The thing that makes WP better overall is the almost-as-good survivability, combined with the offensive perks.

To the OP: Just to make sure you understand, ninjitsu is not bad. It's just the ninja blade part of your original build that's weak. But if you're gonna make a new toon, you might as well do new powersets, so that the PvE won't be as boring.
  23. I'd be willing to bet that freedom has more dedicated PvP'ers than all the other servers combined. So yeah, move to freedom.

But ninja blade does kinda suck. You might be up for the challenge now, but just playing a stalker vs good players is challenging enough, as you'll learn. In the end, you'll most likely regret not having a top-tier build.
  24. Supermax

    Corrupters.

Really? RV PvP on Freedom is like nothing else in the game. The numbers can be ridiculous on some nights. And when the sides are even, it's pretty amazing.

I stayed exclusively in sirens from I13 to about I14, because RV was really laughable in I13 when elusivity was king. Imagine a whole zone of defense melee toons, with nobody being able to hit anybody else lol. Anyway, sirens can be very fun, but lately it seems to be a ghost town compared to RV. Seriously.
  25. It sounds like something I didn't see got deleted. But from reading this post, I agree. PvE does need a new level of challenge, because with IO's, it has become a joke once again.

It used to be a joke before. My blaster was routinely #1 on Freedom back in 2004-2005 for killing werewolves in PI....because I could take out an entire map in 1 shot. That was fixed. But IO's have made PvE laughable once more, at least for those that can afford the IO's.

Tone down the power, just like in PvP, and suddenly the game becomes fun again. Because instead of farming everything, people will actually be challenged. XP can be increased, due to this. And of course, it would greatly close the huge divide between PvE and PvP, for those players who might be interested in both. Right now the difference is just too much for people that are on the fence about it.
