Help for a Returning Player
Whilst I'm not very good at pvp, I know there's a couple of mm types that can be nasty to fight against in pvp.
Secondaries that is. Storm, and, poison.
As for primaries, I can't help much there.
Storm highlights:
- The knockback from hurricane along with -accuracy
- Snowstorm slows stuff real nice, and drops flying enemies
- Freezing rain is a nasty defense debuff
- Lightning storm kicks ***.
Poison on the other hand, as a mm, you can solo elite bosses and some AVs thanks to the awesome debuffs it does. In pvp, I am assuming this would help just as well vs some players.
Hopefully some other players will give you more info

I figured I'd give you some starter info at the least

Thugs, Nin, or Necro paired with Pain, Poison, or Therm. Storm is okay but the toggle drop rules make it not so much.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
What's the cool thing about nin these days? Thugs = damage and necro = self heals and -tohit. But what does nin have? Fast movement speed?
I never played anything besides thugs btw.
Thanks for the replies. I have a good concept for necro/thermal so I think I will go with that build.
Any tips for that specific build? Do you think it has the necessary control for arena and zone pvp?
Hello there. I'm returning to the game after almost 3 years. I have been doing a lot of reading as of late and it's amazing at how much has changed.
Mastermind was always my favorite AT and concept. I love the ability to solo as I often play on my own. Another thing I used to really enjoy was PvP in Siren's Call. From what I have read, pvp has changed dramatically.
Many threads seem to indicate masterminds are not good at pvp, but it seems it's because of their lack of mobility rather than their lack of survivability.
I myself am somewhat of a min maxer. I don't have a strong preference on primary or secondary. I would however prefer to stay away from robots and do enjoy secondaries that are capable of healing. I also am not afraid of a challenge and enjoy builds with "high skill caps" for what that's worth.
So I ask, which mastermind build would best suit my goals, solo pvp and solo pve? I understand I cant overcome mobility issues entirely, so maybe a build that will allow some control? I understand people slot to prevent knockback now, so that doesnt seem to be an efficient method. Or is it?
It's important for me to come up with a concept for the build as well, but I can probably think of one once I get some feedback on builds.
Thanks for reading and your time.
