Hello my lovelies...I'm DJ Sultry Siren and I'm the PR Director for The Cape Radio. You've probably seen me about town or posting all our fun events on the Player Events thread. I want to make sure you know about all the cool events we have coming up, but rather than cluttering up our corner of the forums with thread after thread of events, my...minions...and I are going to keep them all here in this one nice neat pile for you.

My favorite memory...that's a tough one.
The first one that comes to mind happened my very first day playing CoH five years ago. I was a lost little nooblet standing under Atlas on Infinity and a lvl 50 came up to me and gifted me with 150K influence. Totally blew me away. About 5 minutes after that, I joined a PuG that eventually became the 5th Element. I love you guys!
The second is a bit of an offshoot of this first snippet of charity and that is how many incredible players participated in the first run of the RealWorldHero.com charity drive and how much amazing support we received from the devs. You all never cease to amaze me.
There's tons more...HeroCon 2008 and our staff of uber pwnage, the wonderful folks I work with at The Cape Radio, attending HeroCon 2009 as the Wentworths and having PirateCashoo kill us...it's all been a blast.
Here's to a happy 6 years! May there be many more to come!

Also, when the in game advertising system was introduced, it was mentioned that players would be able to use it as well for advertising for super groups and such. As the Public Relations Director for The Cape Radio, I would -love- to see this actually implemented. We host several large events throughout the year (as well as a myriad of smaller events) and I would love to be able to add this to our advertising arsenal.

I'm so sorry to see you go, but I'm happy that you are excited for what's on your horizon. You'll be missed, but I'm sure if we work on our enhancements and pop enough yellows, our aim will improve.

Here's how I figured it out...
- It's got a very blue background. First thought: War walls.
- Not Kings Row or Dark Astoria, the colors are wrong. Possibly Atlas, Galaxy, Talos or PI.
- Load in, hit Galaxy. Hmm, problem: the war walls all have a large brown/gray base to them and the foreground is too short.
- Flip to Talos. No buildings in the exposed area, so it has to be a pretty exposed skyline with possibly a statue.
- Hunt around for a moment and then realize there is a gap of sky on that right hand leg of the cross.
- Can't be one of the regular trees because to be close enough for the tree to intersect the top of the screen, the leaf part would be huge.
- Try to think of any statues in the game that have some sort of wire coil holding up something. (think a swirling rocket or something in an orbit). Can't come up with any off the top of my head.
- Lean back and stare at the war walls.
- THE WAR WALLS HAVE PILLARS! Doh!
- Can't be in CoH, but be in CoV and must be -very- close to the zone walls or the color would be drab and grim.
- Load into Port Oakes. During load, think about what could possibly be that orange speck. Car part? Piece of trash? Dead Hellion pant leg?
- Hit refresh to see if anyone else has figured it out. New image!
- Not a statue. A statue would be wider in the middle...must be a tree, but a tall skinny tree. Must be a palm!
- Open screenshot folder of neat places, flip, flip, flip. Ah HA!
- Load into Cap, race to corner. Try to be patient for daytime in the Etoile Islands. Give up. Take shot anyway.

Just to help nudge this back on topic, about 2 1/2 years ago, I was in your shoes figuratively. I'd heard a lot of good stuff about the rp on Virtue and some of the scary stuff and my main SG on Infinity had become kinda quiet as folks were very busy with RL, so I decided to take a field trip. Started a character in Atlas and after running with a PuG for awhile, I took a shortcut to KR through the D. Holy smokes! At the time Infinity's D was almost always empty and Virtue's was chock full of people actually using the space. I ended up wandering over to the upstairs blue side bar and people watching for awhile until someone approached me, struck up a conversation and was patient enough with me to not laugh and scream "NOOOOOB!" in broadcast as I clumsily rp'd. (Thank you HM!) I rarely visit the blue side bar much anymore (got tired of getting propositioned every 5 minutes), prefering the center platform or Monkey Fight Club/Arena area and other areas out in the city, but for the most part, people are welcoming and open.
Couple of things to keep in mind, just from my own personal experience:
Some characters are complete jerks, it doesn't mean that their players are.
Spelling counts, or at least coherent basic grammar. It's difficult to rp with someone who constantly text-speaks.
There are elitist cliques. It's pretty easy to tell who they are and just like in high school, 99% of what's actually happening doesn't involve them. (Also not everyone that is involved in one of these groups is a jerk either, sometimes it's just one very obnoxious player.)
