No, I'll likely not get any name I actually want on Virtue. So I'm not gonna bother trying to think of one yet.

Hmm... are there content concerns you might have when choosing a provider?

This, coming from someone who blatantly broke the rules last year. LOL

There's more than enough reason to make a case out of it.
  7. It's not an extra parameter, Wassy. It's an extra restriction. Perhaps that is why some people might feel frustration towards it. You've artificially limited the artists further, driving them into a narrow field simply to satisfy your own likes. It very much smacks of backpedaling from your original stance, when the threat of losing artists to some arbitrary rule that should have never been included.

You want to keep as many artists in as possible, but also eliminate artists at the same time to make it a competition. Those two don't work together. Choose one and stick with it. I would have respected you much more if you actually enforced your 'Hot Chicks' rule more strictly, rather than calling it a hard rule and then waffling around it like it was a suggestion. That's exactly the situation that existed before you took over, and that was what you seemed like you wanted to avoid. Looks like it didn't turn out that way at all.

This is the original problem. If it's not meant to be a rule that's clearly defined, it shouldn't have been in the main rules for each month. Who's to say that a gender queer male is more or less of a 'Hot Chick' than an underage girl? There's a definite case to be made for and against them both. Because the judging qualities are so ill-defined and the decision process isn't transparent, there's quite a lot of room for debate.

Your baseball analogy works well, because it also exposes the flaw in the system. Everyone's seen biased calls made and dirty judges. In a situation where there's no publicly clear criteria to make judgments on, it's very easy for the ruling party to play the system. I'm sure you're aware at how upset an obviously bad call makes the team who got punished for it. The same thing applies here too.
  9. Rules have to be stated clearly and enforced clearly, or else there's a murky area of favoritism and opinion that can ruin any competition. If people don't know what the boundaries are, then how are they supposed to stay within them? Also, it's unfair to the people who limit themselves artificially in order to try and stay well within the undefined limit.

It's essentially like trying to play Four-Square with the playground monitor saying that Jimmy is out, but Sarah is in, when there's no lines on the blacktop. Everyone is going to question the decision, no matter how biased or fair it might be.

The moment you subject people to rules, you're responsible for their enforcement. Don't get mad at the players for their confusion. From the outside perspective, this could seem entirely unfair. This responsibility falls upon the rule-maker solely.

You said you'd enforce the rules carefully to avoid last year's dramah. You put in the 'Hot Chicks Rule' in the official rules. I wouldn't blame anyone for calling you out on it, because you want to enforce it so lackadaisically. If it was never a requirement, then you should have not added it in the first place.

It's fine if you don't want feedback on your stuff, but I'm genuinely baffled as to what the purpose of posting the WIP is then. If I didn't want people to comment on a WIP, then I'd just post the final alone.

I would suggest lowering the face on the head a bit more, as she's lost the majority of her forehead and hairline. Her eyes are still a bit far apart, giving her a bit of an alien look. Her ponytail should be directly behind her, since she's looking at the camera straight on and the hair trails that come from her sideburn area should be equal in length as well. Her chin is pointing to the camera right, so that needs to be evened out with the left side.

The fuzz on her shoulders is uneven, with the camera right side being much even with her shoulder, while the camera left side is noticeably higher. Her camera left forearm is also bulging too much, making it look non-congruent with the rest of her body's flow. The hand on that side should also be more flat on the ground, as it's very difficult to pull your palm upwards when the arm is pushing downwards on the ground. It's a stress position that opposes the more relaxed mood of the pose.

Both feet appear like they're pointed straight down into space. The only way that can work is if she's floating. Otherwise the tip of her boot toes would be pointed towards the camera a bit, to account for the perspective.

Also considering TA and Dragonberry redesigns.
Everyone thinks that their design is the best, because they're so personally invested in it. I frankly believe that most people, including myself are wrong. So I want to see a neutral third party's take on it, especially when they're knowledgeable about basic design structure, like BW.

Aside from knowing what's wrong with a particular design, it's also good to know what already works with it. I firmly believe that there's some merit to be found in most every one of the iconic forum characters, just some are buried under unnecessary qualities.

I dunno the majority of the characters well enough to know which ones would pair up well. I won't suggest Mel either, cause frankly I feel like I'm already getting far more worth out of the payment than I should. So, I guess I'll just leave it to other people's suggestions instead.
  20. It's nowhere near the usefulness it used to have, regardless of procs or not. It was good for a perma choke/vomit hold on very large crowds, because of the way it spawned pseudopets, but you had to toe bomb it, so there was risk involved. Now, it barely holds things at all and you won't really be able to take the damage you'll get from the risk in toe bombing it. It's still got a decent recharge debuff and a strong -regen debuff so it's very effective against AVs. Just don't count on it for crowd control anymore.

I always thought that this forum was for sharing screenshots and fan art - not for tearing others apart.

    /shrug

But that's just one unsophisticated opinion.
Says the guy who has both me and BW banned from his DA page, as well as re-subscribed to a game he wasn't playing, just so he could argue in a thread where his name was mentioned. Seems like you create a lot of dramah yourself, bud. Me? At least I'm open with it. :3
  22. LOL, shoving the dramah under the rug does nothing to alleviate it. Just makes a bigger mess to clean up when it finally spills over.

Frankly, I've been enjoying the entire board a whole lot more over the past months. Even if people are "fighting" about things more, it's a hell of a lot more healthy. You actually know where people stand now, no more back alley allegiances and hushed smacktalk behind other people's backs.

Everyone's got an opinion to share, you either learn to deal with it somehow, or lose what makes people unique in the first place. Other people may enjoy beating up mindless robot zombies, but I prefer my forum mates alive and kicking, thank you.
  23. As far as I'm concerned, it's not the opinions that are at fault here. It's the non-adherence to your own self imposed rules. Would have been much better if you just said "I like this piece because..." and not stated any method for choice at all.

I can't argue what you like or don't like. I can *certainly* argue based on an agreed upon rule set. Therein is the problem. Something to think about in the future.
