  1. This is turning into a disappointment.

I have a toon that was logged out at the black market. HE accrued almost 2 hrs of in game teleporter time somehow. He was logged off for a while, but that seemed sort of reasonable. When I've tried it on other toons since then, they only accrue time at a fraction of the rate. I was thinking the toons accruing less time were bugged.

But, I guess the slower rate is what is normal and its pretty pointless. I can teleport to a BM within the first 2-3 minutes of logging on, but I log on to the BM anyway. So no benefit from that. There's benefit from a map to map teleport feature, but for the effort of parking myself at a BM, I could just go to that map before I log off anyway.

They made a huge mistake talking about this before announcing the list.

It gave people all kinds of time to get worked up both for disappointment and envy.

Who are Legacy Chain? I don't play CoV much LOL

Kind of a cross between Archery Blasters & various Controller types. They are kind of like a mystical form of longbow.

I've wondered about them being mystical. They give technology drops.

Their dress mimics a pseudo-celestial Middle Ages Knighthood. Its like a secret society playing dress up. Just like their dress pretends to be mystical, I've wondered if their powers are technological diguised to seem mystical. Hence the technology drops.

They also seem to be anti-magic or anti-dark magic at least, too. All the more reason their powers are actually technology based despite how they appear.
  4. Imho, Plant is the best Dominator Set. I just can't get over the Plant Theme so I only took one to 10.

In my limited experience nothing is lacking from Plant. It has all the requisite Hard Control, some Damage, but more importantly some serious Soft Control including a Mass Confuse up regularly and a damaging/aggro drawing Tier 8 power. Enough Soft Control to make up for the lack of a Buff/Debuffing Secondary that Controllers have and enough to make up for the lack of Debuffing Secondary Effects in the set itself.

It makes sense to me that it was introduced new with Doms and is likely more balanced around the AT than the sets copied from controllers.

It's a snake eating its own tail, the symbol for Ouroborous.

I learned this from Red Dwarf Season 7.

More info regarding Ouroborous. Really opens up alot of ideas and questions.

One thing is different. It is a twisted Ouroboros.

Some kind of rebirth perhaps from villian to hero or visa versa from the cyclical meaning.

Or some kind of unity between villian and hero.

Or through some cosmic event, Heroes find themselves as "outlaws" in an upsidedown world and Villians are treated like Heroes in their world. Somekind of reversal that needs to be worked through.

Be interesting to have heroes do Villian content while villians do hero content.
  6. There's the confuse effect as well.

When a target is running he could be running to get in melee range of a new target (his ally) or jockeying for new position to use a ranged attack.

So when they are just standing there. They could be either waiting for recharge on a power or they could be confused and don't have an ally to target. I also get a sense there's a minor warmup/cooldown period between targets as well.

Also when they are hit by confuse, they lose interest in their original target. So they may reacquire a new one.

So they may target you, run to melee, get confused, acquire on of their allies as a target for an instant, then lose the confuse and switch to one of your allies other than you.

If they are in melee mode this whole time, they will look like they are running around randomly.

Toss in the flee effect, and what exactly is going on is very complex and changes with the number & position of enemies and allies.
  7. There's problem now with, as far as I know, Heroes which are bald and have pointy ears. There's and extra layer of 'skin' that seems to float over the scalp.

    Pointy Ears with No Hair

I have several Alts built with this combo that now don't look right. Under the correct lighting, it is really strange looking.

I believe the bug was created with the change in options. With the new standard Head options, I believe you can still pick none hair option. But when you pick pointed ears, the option becomes 'skin' instead of none.
  8. My guess would be one of the more borderline characters of comics between a tank and a scrapper.

His attacks would be a combination of a weapon and martial arts.
His defense would be a combination of sr, invulnerability (shield) and a pinch of regen.

I'd say tank because the deadliness of his attacks is somewhat limited.

But that's my pre-80's world impression of him. YMMV. Basically if hypothetically you could make a tank with the SR as a primary, I'd say that would be a good match.
  9. My 2 cents, late in the thread:

Defenders (other than empaths) are perceived as not needed because what their powers do isn't telegraphed very well.

Take Darkest Night for instance. The benefit is that the badguys miss more. But its easy for someone to think that its due to luck. Or that its due to a change in some enhancement of their own. Or they may not even notice it at all. By contrast, Empaths get big green numbers.

If you could bring hard numbers like DEF & RES for yourself and your target, then people would appreciate what Defenders do for them. Otherwise they can easily attribute the benefits of a Defender on luck, good players on the team, or good teamwork.

There have been many times I know I made a huge difference in staving off damage and faceplants. People notice play went smoother than expected, but they don't attribute it to my Defender. They say 'This is a good team'.
