You can set it to auto-accept within a certain threshold supposedly. I haven't messed with it myself, but this is how I understand things.

Grats
And inquiring minds want to know, how did you go about it? -
-
A cap on prices would create a player-run "black market." For all effective purposes, you would be able to wait in line and pay capped price with about 500 other people, or you would be able to buy it directly from "the source" for twice what things cost now.

Funny, semi-related story. When i15 was released, there was a bugged zone that you could get to from either red or blue side. This zone was not flagged for co-op, so it had HvV PvP without any of the new rules (in otherwords, it was just like i12 PvP).
It only lasted for a day or two, by the time it was fixed, I had seen several times where there were around 50 people in that zone actually PvP'ing. I think that says something about the current mindset involving PvP. -
Quote:I was actually only a week or two worth of work from each of them, I had just been lazy about it for awhile.Immortal is the only one I am sad about.
I was the only Immortal, excluding Ant, who stopped playing for the most part.
And, my main has 9B on him at the moment and no Leader. With the lowered requirements, I am still approximately 60M away. I never understood why earnings from sales couldn't count.
'Grats on all those epics at once. It will likely be badges abound for several people as they log on.
Oh, and Ant still plays, he's an SG mate of mine -
Quote:I got lucky, I get to log on and Stray will get Empath, Immortal, Leader, and Fabricator.I am still holding your second runner-up name. I did trade the other one. What times are you on or can you get on?
As for what to do first, if I decide on a Villain, I may roll it and stick it wherever Oz is getting his pL'd.
In the interim, I will likely be on my main Villain working some solo, seven-man spawns of +2 and +3 enemies to finish off the Leader Badge, since its requirements have been insanely reduced.
(I suspect Net will be doing the same ..) -

My personal belief is that they realize that it will happen one way or the other, regardless of what they do. The challenge isn't to stop farming altogether but rather to curve the gross imbalance between risk and reward that the current farming has shown.

Here you go, fixed that artifact for you

Eventually, I may start using this if I ever get around to posting my screenies, but for the time being I'm too lazy. -
Quote:Conflict of terms, in this sense I mean real arcs as in, any that don't drop just tickets. >.>"Real Arcs" IS normal AE. What people have chosen to do with it (farming) is not what it's supposed to be, hence all the changes to it. Normal arcs don't get changed much.
Basically, I'm saying that if people get away from the ticket farms and get back to the farms that drop purples then you should see prices start to drop. Certain rares will tend to stay relatively high though because they typically don't drop except through merit or ticket rolls.
And yes, I know AE isn't just about farming, but for the purpose of the discussion at hand I felt it was easier (and didn't change my point) to make a sweeping generalization. -
Well, I was referring to normal AE. I consider Dev's Choice in the category with "real arcs"

I wish I could, but unfortunately I can't make it on Wednesdays until the semester is over. However, if you all want to run something on a Monday, Thursday, or Friday night (after this week, I'll be out of town Thurs - Sun) then just let me know and I'll be there.

If it had just been players leaving the game, both the supply and demand would've dropped in roughly even proportions.
Part of the reason (imo) that they're "nerfing" AE is to try to coax people back out into the real missions where purples will drop. As it stands right now, you have what appears to be a majority (or a very large minority) of the player base racing to 50 in AE where purples won't drop, and the ticket cap per mission cut down on the number of rares you see rolled from those. After they hit 50, they have a fairly large amount of surplus cash with which they're going to try to purple out their toons, so they're effectively generating demand and influence without contributing as much to the supply. -
Well, most of this thread has been tl;dr, but I can say this in relation to whether we've realized the potential of the new PvP or not. If McDonald's suddenly started putting Vegemite on their Big Mac, would you tell the people who thought it was disgusting the same thing? Sure, some people like Vegemite (supposedly) but does that make it a valid thing to say that people just haven't gotten used to it being on the burger? Of course not, people would demand the original back and McDonald's would probably admit they made a mistake (and possibly still offer the Vegemite burger as a separate item if it actually sold at all).

Quote:If you really did stop at level 8, you should've gone one more level.Well I got my mage, Sanaki, up to lvl 8, and a scout, Shikkoku, up to lvl 3.... both completely solo, but I feel like the game is more geared to solo play, at least at low levels.
Playing on the the Zikel (or however you spell it) server on Elyos. Will probably switch when I find out where some of my friends will be playing. -
I haven't really thought about any servers yet, I was king of thinking of Lumiel but nothing concrete.
I'll probably start out as Elyos, the back hair/mane thing for Asmodian looks strange imo >.> -
Interesting bit of trivia, AE is to blame for a lot of the high market prices on purples and rares. I'll not go into detail, but a bit of perception should make it obvious.

Quote:With EQ it was that you couldn't access a certain area, which doesn't seem like a big deal until you considered that EQ was very gear based (of course) and that you would have to travel to the newest place to get the best gear.Do you /have/ to buy the expansions like you /have/ to download them in CoH to play the game? Or are the expansions like if you don't buy them you cant access a certain area or soemthing like that?
To make a comparison, imagine that with Going Rogue they released an entirely new batch of IOs that put the bonuses from any rare/ultra rare set to shame, but they only dropped from a certain enemy group in the new zones. Now, imagine that everyone was able to at least guess what you had slotted just by how you appeared and would make a decision whether or not to team with you based on whether you had those enhancements or not. -
You must have a connection speed of about 10 Mbps to get that kind of dl speed >.> I was limited by my connection speed more than the server speed and it took me about 7 hours.
-
The thing that worries me about SoE is their tendency with a few games to release a new paid expansion every 3 - 6 months. They may have relaxed a bit on that front, but that was ultimately a large part of what made me leave EQ.
But as I said, if there really is no subscription, I figure it will at least be worth a look now. -
Quote:From what I understood you would be able to fight alongside of the signature heroes, not as them. Granted, its hard to know which information is real and which is speculation right now.I was reading an article out of a gaming mag (I can get the title if I need to, it was at work) and it talked about being able to play Superman, Batman, etc. At that point they totally lost me. How can you play signature characters in an MMO setting? Everyone get their turn in the barrel, so to speak? And the rest of the article talked about various negative (as I took them) points of the game.
That said, I'll play anything that's free. Hell, I lasted months in Perfect World before the flying elf, panda with a hammer schtick got old for me.
That being said, free to play? This even has me interested after I had decided not to bother with it. -
Quote:Ah, fair enough, those are pretty typical of your sword and sorcery MMOs so I expected that to some extent.Well I only played Wow a week, well not even, maybe 10 hours tops. I specifically remember when I did play it ...looting dead bodies, having a lot of country terrain, killing stuff at a farm, walking very slow and far. I remember the power trays being very similar to Aion. I remember looting different armor or weapons from kills and not being able to use them without training for them. I remember the whole Mages, warriors, scouts type of characters. I also remember not having a lot of character customization available. Unless I am not understanding how to make my character it was the similar in Aion, not as bad as WOW though. There is a lot more I could list but I will just say its similar in playstyle to me. Of course I am talking about 10 hours of Wow and comparing it to about 5 hours/5 levels of Aion so far. So I could be off with my first impressions.
I didn't like WOW at all, and I enjoyed Aion. So I wouldn't let it being similar keep you from trying it.
Thanks for this (and the subsequent link), last I knew it was just for premium subscribers. -
Just wondering, what makes it that much like WoW? Control scheme and such, or is it just that they're both "sword and sorcery" style MMOs. I ask because I haven't had a chance to try Aion, and I've been looking forward to trying it for a little while, but if its that similar to WoW it may dissuade me.
