I haven't gotten further than the vid on the site - having a fangirl moment because the music is Corner Stone Cues
*goes back to look at the comic now* -
Ya... 20th is bad here. We have a wedding to attend that weekend. 13th may be out as well. How about the 27th?

The only character I thought they got spot on was McCoy
[/ QUOTE ]
McCoy was good. There were some parts where he was trying too hard to be just like Bones, but good for the most part.
Kirk, on the other hand, I felt was spot on. He was arrogant and self centered, and the ending scene with him in the crowd (trying not to be too spoilerish here. If you saw it, then you know what I mean) was screaming "I can't hear y'all through the sound of how awesome I am."
It was a good movie, all things considered. Definitely an "alternate universe" spin. -

One word of caution:
While purchasing this pack and you click on the Confirm purchase button....and it takes so long that your browser window times out...do not hit refresh or you will have bought to packs like me
Not to big of a deal for me, I had another account that I was able to apply the second one to.

Seconded and thirded except for the fact that I only have one account, and it glitched and said that I bought two codes. Click once, and get two emails saying "you have purchased..." -

read through some of this thread.
I gotta say: there are definitely some lessons to be learned here.

Sad but true.
I know this piece of advice is too late for some, but if you pay with Paypal, keep track of the date you paid for your final payment. Do look into your options regarding filing a complaint with Paypal, do pay attention to when the cut off date is for filing a complaint and whether or not you've received the piece before this window closes.
I'm not kidding when I suggest to file a complaint with them if it's feasible. Looking back, I'm fairly certain that's the only reason I finally got my prints. I waited and waited for them after being told they'd be sent, and after over a month, nada. I broke down and did my research on filing before actually going that route. -

You still have Citadel listed as Bastion?

I had a nice little nostalgia chuckle at that.

I just got a mass-mailout from MMOART today regarding the 'reboot'. Hopefully, it will reach all of their old customers so that they'll all have the option of continuing on with them or not.
((odd though, how did the whole mass-email work if... ah, nm.))
[/ QUOTE ]
Interesting... I had signed up for the email list before and haven't seen this update. I wonder how the emails were generated for this to be sent to. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, I saw that. Frankly, after 2 years of being jerked around, I've lost my enthusiasm for my order. Since I put my original order in in August of 2006, they have gone through at least two "rebirths". During each lots of promises get made, a little bit of art gets done, then 3-4 months later, more silence, followed later by the same cycle.
I'll pass on this round.
[/ QUOTE ]
I can't say as I blame ya. I had noticed that trend as well with the same promises being made with this incarnation that were made previously. Glad to know he's okay, but yeah. I wish you the best of luck on getting your money back from them. -

Oh, and DarkJedi? I hope you're taking commissions!

I'd feel extremely guilty to post any screenies of any sort, but I am looking forward to seeing the pieces that come out of this.

Man, Juggy just raised the bar. Looks like I gotta step in and pick up one of Gill's commissions too...

Duuuuude. Wow. The willingness of the community to step in is amazing. As a new person to commissioning arts (MMOArt was my first commission experience and the worst), seeing this camaraderie is rapidly improving my willingness to want to commission more arts in the future... funds pending -
When I filed at the end of May, it was 45 days and I had sent payment towards the end of April.
I just searched Paypal's help page for "how to file a dispute" and this is the text on the page:
How do I dispute a payment?
Question :
Answer :
A The best way to resolve a problem transaction is to communicate directly with your seller. Most sellers welcome the opportunity to work out problems and provide good customer service.
If you and your seller are unable to work out an issue, you can go to PayPal's Resolution Center to open a dispute within 45 days of payment. If you're still unable to resolve the problem, you can escalate the dispute to a claim. A dispute can be escalated to a claim any time within 20 days of the date the dispute was opened. By escalating to a claim, you are asking PayPal to review the case and decide the outcome.
I don't know why they would tell you 20 days in the canned response unless it was for the claim portion. You have to file a dispute then escalate it to a claim if there's no response in that window. -
[ QUOTE ]
Since I've received no reply to any of my requests, I went to file a dispute with PayPal over this issue.
Turns out that they won't do anything for you if you made a payment over 20 days ago which I certainly did. (April 15, 2008, I believe)
[/ QUOTE ]
It's 45 days from date of payment sent to file a dispute before you can no longer do so. That was something I was researching as communication options when email didn't work. I know it doesn't help youbut knowing that information may help someone else. I honestly don't know at this point.

[ QUOTE ]
If it was just the one commision (a contest entry) I'd not be as concerned. But I paid to upgrade it, plus put a deposit down on a second piece that I've not seen so much as a scratch of graphite on paper for.
So yes... 'concern' is the operative word here.
[/ QUOTE ]
*nods in agreement* There have been long, long lapses in communication, email problems that keep recurring, etc, etc.
I should consider myself lucky that I was able to get the physical prints after the last resort option of filing a dispute with Paypal. It sounds like others haven't been so lucky.
I don't like bashing people in a public forum so I've withheld my experience with my commission pieces until now. I think Gill has a lot to learn on the business side/backend of running a business. He's got the art side of things down as he produces beautiful work. But I don't think trying to sweep things under the carpet and ignoring them if there're delays/setbacks/whatever from a business perspective is healthy, nor is it fair to the clients who have paid hefty sums of money for a product that they may or may not see. -
It's people who have commissions in various stages that can't get ahold of them.
-
I talked to Jomaro last week (commission related) and he sounded fine to me, a bit overwhelmed, but okay. He basically lost all his email and email is borked quite nastily. He did give me mmoart@gmail.com to get in touch with him.

Gonna have to vote Aerones. I loved the comic panel style. It was a tough call, but loving the Aerones art.

It's actually StarVyxen vs. NightVyxen Alt =P =P
Yes, they look alike, but are two individual toons. One is a PB, one is not (part of their bios actually)
