That bit there I always kinda questioned, as she doesn't really have any powers or anything that would do that. But since I ended up being so delinquent on my payment, I couldn't really say boo about it. So I came up with the "teleporting away" explanation (for which she's actually in the correct pose); my No-Prize is in the mail!

Thanks! I'm sanding down the rough edges of the protagonist's (Moxie's) background, but yeah, I'm really looking forward to delving into the Rogues Gallery. Should produce some cool art to look at, at any rate.
  3. Thanks (for the part of the praise that was for me, that is) ! Yeah, Moxie's super fun, and she's probably my most fully realized character; I'm particularly happy with the supporting cast (Jake Danger and Guy Friday) and rogues gallery (Crime Queen, Satin Fox, Velvet Siren, Doctor Deathtrap) that I came up with for her.
  4. It took me waaaaay too long to collect on this piece (pretty severe RL things and all that), but now that I have (and also re-snagged the name in-game), I wanted to post it up. Here's Moxie Danger, superhero private detective, as she's about to teleport away from certain doom...for the bad guys!

This is actually the character I had in mind when I started this thread oh so long ago.

    MA/SR vs. SS/SR

Yeah, MA is far more attractive now than it used to be; I wouldn't be fussing over this decision a few issues ago.

    Any other thoughts?
  6. Is Confront enough to overcome the scatter?
  7. It was probably 35% to S/L, not Melee. It'd be helpful to know what you want to do with the character; farm or general play?

In any event, getting to 35% S/L isn't too hard. One quick way (not on a PC w/Mids atm):
    4 sets of Kinetic Combat=15%
    4 sets of Reactive Armor= 6%
    Steadfast Unique= 3%
    Weave= ~5%
    Combat Jumping= ~2%
One of the Taunt Sets= 2.5%, or 3.13%

That gets you to ~34.13%, if you go with Perfect Zinger, or ~33.5% if you go with Mocking Beratement. Either one can be bumped up to a little over 35% by slotting Rage with either 2 pieces of Rectified Reticle, or 6 pieces of Gaussain's.

    EDIT: edited for sloppy math

    MA/SR vs. SS/SR

    Soo...it's a toss-up?

    MA/SR vs. SS/SR

I'm having a hard time deciding between these two combos for a new character. The sticking point is basically ST damage; should the latter (the SS/SR Brute) be able to reasonably compete with the former in this area? My assumption is "nope, yer dumb", but as long as it can put out enough ST DPS to solo AVs later on, I like the tradeoffs (Footstomp, more HP, smash).
  10. Please post regular updates to his kick counter here...I'd love to see the bump he gets if he ever goes to the AP AE.

  12. Yay for me just buying this same thing one week ago for triple the price! *grumblegrumble*
  13. I love that Clap-San piece; congrats!
  14. The "Shades of Grey" contest was pretty cool (and not just because I play Judge Midnight); since it wasn't really a "theme" contest, but more of a "color palette" contest, there was a lot of variety. Hopefully some screenies will get posted; this was probably the first contest in this thread where I wouldn't need captions with the screenies to figure out who everyone was.
  15. I remember being on a few PuGs with Desert Owl back when she was a Storm/DP Defender (if it's the same player/character); watching that character in action is even more fun than scoping out the costume. Congrats, Desert Owl!

    CC Recon Virtue

First Spider Jersualem I've ever seen in game. Not a bad approximation, too.

Aside from Carnifax's response, the quick and easy reply to that is: Procs.

  19. Oh, absolutely, the +rech comes in handy with the primary. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something on the WP side. As for the +HP, I'll have to take a hard look at that build in Mids; it's possible that I hit the HP cap via ancillary benefits from Def/Rech sets, but I'm always looking for oversights on my part.
  20. There likely haven't been many posts about this combo since /SD offers "most" of what /SR does, although with the tradeoff of lower DDR/less recharge for additional damage buff/more HPs/more resistance/AoE nuke. Also, KM Scrappers benefit greatly from even more +Dam from the secondary, hence the proliferation of KM/SD and KM/FA combos, two combos which also shore up the relative lack of AoE in KM itself.

None of that is meant to shoot down the idea of KM/SR, of course; totally viable option, there.

Quick question on this point: why +recharge on a WP character? There is literally only one power in the WP set which would benefit from additional recharge, and that's the self-rez. I ask only because I built my WP Tanker for typed soft-caps and the HP cap; if I'm overlooking something, I'd love a heads up.

(Apologies to the OP for the further derailment)
  22. That's what I'm leaning towards, too; the only thing kinda-sorta holding me back is Accuracy. Kinetic Combat sets offer skimpy Accuracy values, and that build gives up the 15% Accuracy bonus from Hecatomb. Although it does still get +13% toHit from Tactics and the Kismet.
  23. I spent a couple of hours digging through just about every KM thread since the set's been introduced, in an attempt to see if Burst's denial of KB sets had already been addressed. Having not found anything, I was wondering if anyone who was in the i18 Beta knew whether or not this was an intentional design decision, or an oversight?
