keep trying, I just keep clicking and backing out of the server above free, and eventually it has a spot
-
Mine were on guardian. Still there too.
Still have friends there but zero pvp + low pop = eh, unfortunately. my big thing is villains now and well, no one plays villains there. -
The virtue/freedom fighting is so retarded.

Well, it's a damn good time for him to troll if nothing else.

I don't get my issues and updates for free. Last time I checked, I pay 15 dollars a month, and it's hard to charge two different fees for the same exact game that is hosted on the same servers.
Many other games charge for transfers too, but other games, like WoW, provide their higher population servers transfers for free to lower pops to balance the population out.

I apologize then. I meant, you don't pay extra money for more content, where as other games you pay extra money for expansions.
Provide server transfers for free to higher population servers to balance the population out? I would agree with that. It would probably be the best approach.
What I was responding to, was that you said that "All they want is our money. They don't care if the populace is happy or not".
I don't know of many game developers out there who are more involved with their community than this one. They care about their fanbase, believe it or not. We may not get every little thing we ask for, but they do listen, and they try their best to do what they can for us.

They don't listen. They're too busy "fixing" rage, a power no one had a problem with. While making "fixes," in the process, they break other things.
The current toggle debuff animation bug is a result of a "fix," yet we still haven't seen this issue addressed. It took how long to fix the arenas?
They made a poll for new powersets, and then when one beat out another, they chose the losing set because they didn't want to make the winning set (I believe it was willpower) probably because they never intended to do it in the first place.
They change defiance, villains are getting mauled, they say they will consider lowering unresistable damage, its warned that it'll not really help the villains so much but will just slow down hero vs hero and what's the plan? To lower unresistable damage.
Grandville is still a laghole.
I know everyone was JUST DYING for the -1 imp level nerf, because it did so much to slow down fire/kins.
Heroside TFs are still a billion times longer and more repetitive than villain SFs.
Still waiting on pvp brute fury fix.
Still waiting on villain PPP love.
How long is that costume request thread? So many cool, interesting ideas and we get random patterns and the you-know-no-one-asked-for-them boxing pieces and greek letters. You'll never see 99% of that thread come to fruition.
I've never seen such an [censored]-backwards performance.
Most people with CoV paid for it as an expansion for CoH, which included new content, so I don't see how you can say that they've never had people pay for an expansion. Same servers, new content, more character slots. So I really have no idea where you get "Well OTHER companies charge for expansions!" -

That's three month's worth of play just to move two characters to a server where my friends play.

This is why people like to play on freedom. Because their friends play here. It's not cool to have to drop a ton of money to do it either. WoW bit the bullet on a lot of server transfers from overpopulated servers (like archimonde in its heyday) to help populate the lower popped and new servers that they were working on, but NC can't be bothered to try that approach, because it doesn't make them money. I've never seen a game with such a drastically dispersed population as this game. Some servers are wastelands, and some are overcrowded.
It's amazing to see how many people scorn this though and expect people to play on like eight different servers. -
Why make it free when they can charge you?
They want the money. They couldn't give a damn if it made the populace happy or not. That's how business works. -
If I could transfer the characters I wanted to work on off freedom for free during this weekend to work on, it wouldn't bother me so much.
Many of us saw what unmoderated transfers would do to freedom. I don't remember so much encouragement to transfer here as to prevent it. Same with virtue. The populations on these severs were aware what would happen, but the devs wanted money, and they wanted easy money, and there was easy money in letting people transfer to freedom and virtue at will.
It's a case of greed more than anything else. -
Virtue looks like it's about to hit the cap too, but I guess I'll have to play an alt there until freedom frees up. If both of them lock down, I'll just have to forget this crap.
I am amused that people expect freedom players to just roll alts that they will probably never touch again elsewhere just to take advantage of double xp weekend. The reason we're on freedom is for its activity, so we generally have zero interest in being one of 30 villains on protector. -
they'd never make transfers free. too many people believe that it costs them money to do (because they made it out to be that way,) when they've been doing free transfers to test for years.
-
My anger isn't directed toward lighthouse. I'm not here to shoot the messenger. Most of us know who king liar is on the cryptic team. (Hint: He tried to tell us that they've been trying to put repeatable respecs in for years, but somehow couldn't figure out how to do it)
-
Please. Server transfers are there for you to make an extra buck. It was seen that transferring to freedom and virtue was profitable, so it wasn't halted for sake of the server populations. Now it lands us here.
-
sure am glad that I can't play on double xp weekend
-
I spend them not playing, because I can't get on my home server.
-
I take the Range SO over the HO or recipe on STF all the time. I don't know what you take, noob.

"Radio Freedom" should be listed as "RadioFreedom" however, due to constraints and the inability to kick inactive accounts, it is generally full, but sometimes opens up a spot.

CoH has a bigger population, who whine more, and whine louder than the CoV community. They hold forum population majority. CoV was made specifically to generate more econ to pump into CoH. The devs can save both time and funds simply by creating co-content that short-changes CoV but is specifically, for some reason, beneficial and useful to players of CoH. Any and all one-sided villain content is eventually transferred to CoH and given a buff. Content that was originally hero-side, will, with some reluctance, will be given to CoV. However, said content will be thouroughly re-worked, and it will be stated said content will be 'more powerful' than its hero counterpart, and it will turn out to be craptastic in comparison. Villain issues will be backburnered in favor of hero issues. There will never be any more villain-side only content, but expect more hero-side only content in the near future.
The Devs do not give a [censored] about CoV in the short run. They only care about it as long as it brings in money so they can fuel blue-side, which in turn, means they have to make a few mediocure attempts at improving the red-side content. They do so slowly, reluctantly, and poorly.
That turned into a rant. All of the above is OPINION, only SOME of it is necessarily fact.
