Ive been on Virtue a year now and ive still not found a good active RP SG ? Ive got MANY characters. Anyone recruit one of them?
[/ QUOTE ]
My observation has been that RP SG's don't necessarily recruit...this is subjective of course. The RP SG I belong to just invites people that mesh well with the team...an evolution from friend, to global friend, to SG mate. If you ever consider building a character on Guardian, check us out (info in the sig) and send me tell to team up. Incidently, I've never found an RP SG on Virtue either and I've gotten to know more people on Guardian who RP. -

(( Indeed it is ok...Welcome to the thread! I will write some along your story))
Clarisa decided not to follow Kashaye, instead she was alerted to some more suspcious activity on the other side of the building. She threw open the hall window which nearly shattered and ran at top speed toward the fire escape. With her super reflexes, she swiftly made it to the bottom in time to see a teenage boy standing over the Legion agent. The boy then ran inside the office no doubt to call the authorities. Clarisa paused a moment to see if Legion would come for this man. And they did. Out of the corner of her eye, she also saw the mangled car.
She ducked inside the office via the revolving door, which incidently was left spinning at a dizzying speed from the force of her push. She approached the boy.
"Good work young man. Are you alright?" As any good company woman, she was worried about potential lawsuits and realized being nice to witnesses made them more pliable if a cover-up was needed. Now where was the driver of that car...she needed to make ammends with him as well. This was going to be a long day at the office! -
Hi Kelp, I'm relatively new here too. I wasn't sure how to jump in so I started my own. Now I've seen how others jump in and it doesn't look too bad. Here's what I've seen:
<ul type="square">[*]Witness an event that someone else has staged [*]Link up in a pm with someone who can "introduce you" [*]Learn the theme of the RP thread, determine how it fits in your character's life, and react to it [*]Just jump in with "here's how I became a hero" (need to introduce yourself)[/list]
I hope this helps...I'm no expert. This is really fun though and I can do it from work. -

(( Thanks, we're having fun here too. I've got some ideas and the vetern writer may have some too...here's a few:
You might know Mallory
You might have a beef with Crey, Legion, or Greed Inc.
You might just witness one of the many events like Mallory has
You might be doing an internship at Physiks and help out Soulll Trainnn
I hope this helps )) -
((Right...sorry we "faded to black" on that encounter too early. Feel free to RP your invention with them, then just pick up this thread where you are in the meeting with Soulll Trainnn and I. Is that ok?))

"Indeed, that's why Angelstryke is here. Angel, do you have any further information and ideas on how to prevent future breeches? If the twins hadn't been there, I'm not sure we would have prevented this one. Nothing against the twins, but they aren't on my payroll like you are sweetheart, so I can't be sure of their intent." Clarisa said while sitting on the edge of her desk and sending a text message on her cell phone.
((I don't want to cut off any further dialog that Soulll Trainnn may have, but what follows is directed only to Angelstryke and will be said once she has left the room.))
Clarisa touched Angelstryke lightly on the arm to suggest that he hang back a moment longer than Kashaye. "I'm thinking we might need to take the offensive position on this. Do you have any contacts that need intel from Crey Labs? Perhaps, you could take a look at certain activity logs and see if they mention Physiks? Or "ask" the right Cryo Tank before sending him to the Zig?". There was a gleem in her that told Angel she wished she could go with him on that mission. -

((Hi, read the posts and I think I'd like to get in on this. I like these games))
((This post is sort of an introduction. I'll get in with the rest of you guys in the next post))

Welcome, Mallory sounds like a interesting new character to this thread! -
"I see...", Clarisa said to the twins, "...it's possible that Greed, Inc is involved? To be honest, I haven't paid them much attention. Since they had that antitrust lawsuit against them, I thought they were pretty much out of the picture. Perhaps I was wrong."
Clarisa scanned the room for her assistant. She saw him entertaining the Nobel Prize recipients, encouraging them to stay and enjoy the free food now that the science part of the show was over.
They made eye contact and Clarisa pointed at her cell phone to indicate she would leave him a message. Jordan would probably be up all night researching Greed's current activities, per her request, but that couldn't be helped. He was a good assistant, trustworthy and loyal, but not smart enough to take her position...or maybe he was smart enough to not take her position, depends on how you look at it. In any event, she trusted him with her life and had come to rely on him.
Clarisa turned to the twins again. "I'll give this party a few more minutes, then I'll ask Ms. Parker and Angelstryke to debrief me, would you care to join us?" . -
Clarisa had been watching the activities outside via security cameras. She didn't see any evidence that her new employees were altering the scene or assisting the Crey agents. One had to be careful of double agents in this day and age. It was so hard to tell which side people were on. Most of the time, heroes were on the side of law and justice, but there were those who skirted the edge.
"Hmmm..." Clarisa caught herself saying this allowed. "I wonder what the twins were doing back there. They must have been first on the scene." She decided to meet them before they entered the main hall where the festivities were still going on.
Down the length of the corridor, she saw Soulll Trainnn and Angelstryke walking in the lead. There seemed to be an uncomfortable distance between them. Neither wanted to be behind the other, yet they didn't want to walk side by side. Trailing not far behind, were the twins. They were quite striking in appearance, so young and innocent looking. Experience had taught Clarisa that could be innocence could mask great strength. She would do her best to make them feel comfortable here and earn their trust.
Clarisa met the team half way and started walking alongside Kashaye. "Ms. Parker, thank you for responding. If everything is under control, I'll set aside some time after the party for us to chat, so I don't interfere with your lab opening. Is that appropriate? Also, I'd like to invite Angelstryke to that meeting as well. I think he will have some thoughts on the matter." She nodded questioningly at Angelstryke to see if he approved. Angelstryke tossed an errant lock of hair back and nodded in return.
Once she had a reply from Kashaye, she shortened her stride to walk with the twins. "Welcome to the lab. I want to thank you for responding so quickly to the potential infiltration." A calm smile warmed her face and she slowed down a bit so the gap lengthened between the twins and the two heroes in front. "I would be most interested in your thoughts on the matter too. Just a few days ago, you brought me information and now this happens. Do you believe the incidents to be related?". This was a leading question and she feared that it was thinly veiled. She really didn't want to insult their intelligence, but she didn't want to start speculating either. They obviously knew something more and wouldn't be here if they didn't wish to share it. -
Clarisa made her way over to Kashaye to congratulate her. She noticed that the tall, dark man from Legion was with her. Probably they wanted an answer soon to their proposal. As a gesture of good faith, she had invited them here, to Kashaye's lab opening, but sooner or later, she would have to sway the board one way or the other. Question was, which way would she sway them.
Slowly, she approached the two, and put on her best fake, but convincing smile. Luck was with her today though...the gentleman was leaving. "Thank you for coming." She told Victor as he walked quickly toward the exit. Her attention turned towards Kashaye. But before she could open her mouth to speak, her cell phone text message alarm went off with the urgent ring tone and vibration. It read "URGENT: DISTURBANCE DETECTED AT SOUTH ENTRANCE". Instead of congratulating Kashaye, she said, "Ms. Parker, I hate to tear you away from your soire', but I believe you may be interested in this and I may need your special talents while I investigate this." She showed her the message. "Can you break away for a few minutes?". Clarisa expected that Angelstryke was earning his money and already on the scene, but she still wanted to be there to get the information first-hand. Less time for anyone to hide facts and strategize information trades. After all, Angelstryke was available for the highest bidder. Last week, that was Physiks Tech, who knows who it is this week.
(( Your photos of the lab are fantastic! I love the way you edited it to include the company name. Nice job...it sets the stage nicely.)) -
(( This is getting fun! I have so many ideas, I've got to keep them in check. Also as luck would have it, Real Life rears its ugly head and I won't have more than a few minutes until the weekend to read and contribute to the forums. That said, I'd like to jot down a couple of ideas, so you can continue writing in my short absence.
I'd like to have a situation where Angelstryke "earns" his protection money. I'd like to visit Soulll Train's lab once it's setup. I'd like to find out if the twins have run across anymore info. And last but not least, see what Legion has in mind for Physiks Tech.
Keep up the good writing and new contributors are welcome!)) -

--------------- Start of report --------------------------
The green substance brought by Angelstryke is strangely unique. It was tested to find mutagens and how they make this liquid unique. Several of them were substances commonly found in steroids to enhance muscle growth and strength. There were also traces of Arsenic, Carbon, and Selenium, their applications in the substance are unknown. The most active and quizical substance was that of a chemical that is used only for the purposes of cloning. Last but not least there was a large trace of human blood that contained DNA. A search was ran on the DNA and it matched to a hero by the name of the Invisible Falcon, a hero that had disappeared some time ago.
The sample of Angelstryke's blood was tested for chemicals in sample #1 and the blood does macth up with the sample. However the blood had vast amount of Superdine in it, more of the drug than most Trolls.
It is unknown of the effects that the sample would have on someone when mixed with Superdine. The effects the chemical reaction had on Angelstyrke are unknown and he should be tested of the effects for more data to be gathered on these substances.
--------------- End of report --------------------------
[/ QUOTE ]
Clarisa tucked the report into a confidential sleeve and asked a nearby technician to see that it was delivered to her office vault. She wanted to keep this handy.
Suddenly, the sound of the 2001 theme song was heard in midi tones. Clarisa looked down at her cell phone. The text message indicated that Physiks had visitors from Legion. Actually, more than one and classified as "potentially dangerous". She smiled broadly. "Things have been very exciting around here lately ladies and gentlemen. Keep sharp and focus on your work." With a bounce in her step, she walked swiftly toward the elevators leading the lobby to greet them. -
After spending the morning in the satellite office, Clarisa headed over to the main office to stop into the Biochem lab.
"Greetings Ms. Feynman", "Hello Ms. Feynman", "Good day Ms. Feynman". People said as she passed by them on her way through the vast lobby to the elevators. She passed them an acknowledging smile and said hello to a few of the higher ranking scientists.
When she got to the Biochem lab door, she held up her access card. The door glowed green and opened to admit her.
Immediately, a chief scientist came over to her with a report in hand (they still used paper for confidential information as electronics could be hacked and paper was easy to destroy). It was the result of Angelstryke's blood test and the preliminary analysis of the vial of green liquid. She was looking to see if the blood had any elements or compounds in common with the green liquid to verify it was as Angel had proported. Also, she was hoping that this early report would give an indication about how valuable the liquid was. This is what the report said:
((Soulfire, can you provide some info from the report, since you have an idea of where it came from and what it does? No need to give all the facts, just trickle some info and some leads for Physiks to follow.)) -
As Clarisa was being driven into a Physiks satellite office in Steel Canyon, she read and replied to her email.

Ms. Parker:
I have reviewed your requisitions and found your requests to be reasonable. All the orders will be placed by close of business today with high priority. I expect you will take delivery on the items by Friday at the latest.
I will be stopping by your lab soon to see how the setup is going and to ensure you are getting the attention you deserve.

[/ QUOTE ]
She made a mental note to stop by the biochem lab to see the results of Angelstryke's tests. She would be contacting him soon for an update, so best to have as much information as possible beforehand. After all a little bit of blood goes a long way. -
"Those children were quite amazing. First delivering useful information found on a very dangerous foe, a Paragon Protector, and secondly, disappearing without a trace from her heavily surveilled office." Clarisa thought. She raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Christina and Christopher..." She would be asking Jane to call up their files to find out when and where they might meet again.
Clarisa still had the viles in her hand. She placed them in a biohazard carrying case, lined with foam and brought them down to the biochemistry lab. After filling out some paperwork, she excused herself and headed back to her penthouse apartment.
During her limo ride, she called up details of the agents reports, threat reports on allies and foes, and Soulll Trainnn's order form. All the way up the elevator, she listened to her voicemail. Jane had left her a message asking for the next couple of days off, Officer David Wincott left contact info for an undercover officer named Flux, and Agent Rosalyn informed her that she had reached security level 18. She frowned slightly as a new problem presented itself. Soon, Physiks agents like Rosalyn would be getting missions to inflitrate Crey. She would have to carefully monitor that situation.
She disrobed and climbed into the small sonic shower stall. Within two minutes she was out and pouring herself a stiff drink. If she didn't dull her reflexes and senses, she'd never get to sleep. Despite the attempts to fall into a restful sleep, she tossed and twitched, expecting to find someone standing in her room threatening her. Luckily, she could see in the dark and was able to open her eyes quickly, see no one there, then drift back to sleep. And so ended a normal work day! -
Her eyes were on the vile. It glinted in the light. Ideas raced through her mind on what possibilities this would bring to Physiks Technologies. She reminded herself that she was not a scientist and that she should leave this to the experts in the lab downstairs, but there was a pang of envy. Her father had been one of the greatest scientists of the century, Richard Feynman. It was in her genes.
Clarisa picked up the document and read the first and last paragraph. She then stood up and casually walked about the room, a common behavior for her as she was conducting business. "Angelstryke, I realize the significance of your offer. I also find your ethic of not killing innocents to be admirable. We certainly do want to protect our assets." She let a little more leg show through the slit of her short skirt. "But your price is high and Crey is not above sending a double agent to its competitors. However....", she paused and tried to keep from hungrily staring at the vile, "...your bonus is good collateral and we accept it gratefully. Perhaps you would agree to let us draw a small amount of your blood in our lab, for comparison of course. After all, we have to validate your claim beyond doubt. In return, we shall deposit 2.5 million in a retainer account set up in your name. The rest will be payable to the same account in one year."
She smiled at the twins from time to time to see their reaction and acknowledge their presence. She wanted to make sure they didn't feel forgotten in this conversation.
"One more thing...Physiks Technologies is building a reputation of goodwill in this community. We do not want anything to jepordize that. Crey may be our competitor, but the police force and public do not take corporate espionage lightly. Anything that would marr our reputation will not be tolerated." She wandered over to the wall sporting several framed newspaper clippings detailing the company's humanitarian efforts. "For the present, let's keep your assignment strictly to protect. Your other contacts may have assignments for you that bring you to Crey labs, and naturally, we will be interested in your findings, but in that case, WE did not send you there. Is that clear?".
Once again her glowing blue eyes seared in Angel's direction. She didn't care about his egotistical demeanor, in fact, she thought it would be useful if she ever had to bring him down. But she did want to make sure he would not be a loose cannon and interfere with her project. Respect was important in leadership, but scientists and heroes often didn't respect authority because of over confidence in their abilities. In those cases, motivation would come from the overall goal. Clarisa wondered if his overall goal was truly money or was their something else.

CRUNCH! The sound of boots crushing broken glass shards could be heard from a corner of the lobby. Jane looked over and felt of flush of relief. She excused herself and put down the drink assortment she brought for the 4 guests in the reception area.
Jane opened the door to Clarisa's office. "Ms. Feynman, I'm sure glad you are here!"
Clarisa passed the threshold from the reception area to her office. Her tailored jacket was sooty and her long, red hair a bit tossled. She was in the Hollows when she received Soulll's call. Normally, Clarisa would have cleaned up after field work, but she had obviously rushed here and there was no time to waste for astetics.
Clarisa turned to Jane. "Jane, please show the guests into my office, then take the day off. You deserve it."
Clarisa then turned to Soulll. "Thank you very much for responding to the situation as you did, Ms. Parker. Please stay if you like while I learn more about our guests."
With the same grace and poise she showed earlier, Clarisa took her place behind the mahogany desk.
The guests took seats and settled in for a chat.
"Let me say a couple of words to welcome you, then we'll talk business." She said with a smile. "This company is a friend to all heroes. We have a common goal to improve the lives of others. Physiks Technologies does this with technology, but we all have special talents to contribute. Already I can see that YOU are motivated heroes that have an interest in our common goal. Welcome!".
"Also, let me say, my door is always open, so I would greatly appreciate it, IF (emphasis there), you would use it." She looked directly at Angel with a playful grin, but steely, cold eyes. She softened her glare and crossed her hands on the desk. "I'm very interested to hear what has brought you here today. Who would like to start?".
(((If you both have storylines that you'd rather share with Clarisa on the QT, just RP it that way and she'll set up private meetings. ))) -
((( Sorry folks, RL kept me from writing sooner. My, my...this thread has become very interesting in my absence! I'm going to reply today...just need to get some names spelled right and grammer cleaned up.)))
-
Clarisa was just finishing up on the phone, when Kashaye signed her name.
"I'll walk you out to the reception area, Ms. Parker. Jane can take a list of what you'll need and give you the keycard to your new lab. Basically, we are writing you a blank check as far as supplies go, so order to your heart's content. An if there is
anything you need that is not obtainable through normal scientific supply companies, just ask, we have many sources." Clarisa made a mental note to review the order before leaving.
"I'll drop in later tomorrow and see how you are settling in. I would walk you there myself now, but I've got to catch up on some other work." She had been meaning to check out that Trolls base in the Hollows for a week, but it was such a long way from the office. She sighed at the thought of traveling there on foot.
Clarisa walked out with Kashaye. Jane looked up from her paperwork and smiled graciously. "You'll be wanting this requistion form for your new space, I imagine."
The form had several pages. The first couple were standard office supplies, but the subsequent pages got far more technical. Spectrascopes, nitrogen gas, parafin wax, lasers, and other tools of the physics trade were listed. The last page was just blank lines for write-in items.
"Oh and before I forget," Jane slipped on a glove and took what looked like a credit card out of the drawer, "Here is your keycard. "Once you grasp it, it will record your pulse, thumbprint, skin opacity, and other biometric readings. No other person will be able to use this card after that. The card reader has already been programmed with the magnetic signature of the card, so the first time you swipe it, you'll complete the id process." Jane paused for a moment. "Any questions?"
( OOC: Recruiting for this thread is always open, please feel free to join at any point with your story.) -
Clarisa admired Kashaye's down-to-business manner. "Finally, a straight-shooter!", she thought.
Aloud she said, "Great, then Welcome to the Company, as we say".
Clarisa stood and once again extended a hand. They shook on it, then Clarisa pulled a 3 page document from her folder and slid it across the polished table top along with a Cross pen.
"Please take your time and look this over, we want you to be completely happy with this agreement. While you are doing that, I will make the arrangements for the setup of YOUR new lab." A broad smile crossed her face, hoping that Kashaye would return the positive expression.
( OOC: Recruiting for this thread is always open, please feel free to join at any point with your story.) -
"Welcome Ms. Parker, if you will kindly take a seat here..." the secretary gestured toward the wing-backed chair facing the polished mahogony office desk, "...Ms. Feynman will be right with you." the secretary smiled and left the room, closing the door silently behind her.
Within two minutes, Clarisa Feynman entered the room. "Hello Ms. Parker" she said enthusiastically, "I have been looking forward to meeting you since your phone call a few days ago." In truth, Clarisa had cleared her schedule specifically to accomodate this meeting. She had a feeling that Soulll Trainnn was key to the overall plan for Physiks Techonologies. Hand held out, she said, "I am Clarisa Feynman, director of a special projects, please call me Clarisa, do you prefer to be called Soulll Trainnn or Ms. Parker?".
Clarisa took her place on the other side of the large and prestine desk. The light scent of lemon wafted about indicating the desk had been polished recently. All the folders and desk accessories were perfectly arranged. The only imperfection on the desk was a 6" scratch on the left surface. Clarisa unconsciously moved the folder to cover it.
"We are very glad you are entertaining a contract position in our R&D department. We are very interested in innovative technologies. According to this file you have an interesting thesis. Care to talk more about it and explain what WE can do for YOU? We are prepared to offer you virtually unlimited resources to do your work."

This is an open RP for anyone who would collaborate or conflict with the base character. I'm trying to breakaway from my usual upstanding-citizen heroes and run someone who is more objectionable.
Base Character: Clarisa Feynman
Description of Character:
She's a corporate diva. She's got a pleasant disposition outwardly but it's a means to an end. Likewise, she is a "hero", saving innocents and the like, but for her own purposes, not simply to do good.
Description of environment:
Basically, the settings can be anyplace in Paragon City. Mostly I will write from the offices of Physiks Technologies (made up...hope it's not a real company). They are a competitor of Crey Industries.
Starter ideas:
Feel free to jump in with your own Crey ties (be it for or against them). Clarissa will be interested in any heroes that have inside information or have been in contact with Crey. If anyone has characters that are also corporate climbers, please do post.
Other notes:
I would really enjoy some banter. Don't feel obligated to write situational stories only. Throw a couple of dialog lines up and I or others will respond as if we were standing next to you in game. And lastly, have patience with me...this is the first time I've tried this in the forums.

Day One
Clarisa briskly walked down the carpeted hallway. A short skirt and designer knee-high boots accentuated her long, confident strides. She was a sharp dresser that made the simpliest suit look stunning. Long red hair pulled back with a few tendrils grazing her face made sure that she was easy to pick out in a crowd. She entered the board room at the end of the hall, moved to the head of the long conference table and put down her leather covered folder.
After a quick gaze around the room she said, "Right....glad we are all here on time, let's get to business". She did not sit in the high-back chair, instead she preferred to stand and walk while she talked.
"Now, I have been able to go through the initial stages of hero training." She crossed her arms and meandered toward the wall of windows.
"In doing so, I have found they are a wellspring of information on our competitor. Most are good-natured and very willing to assist with the current task at hand. The PR from helping citizens has been FABULOUS", a genuine-looking smile crossed her face.
"I think sending Physiks Technologies agents into the midst of heroes is the best promotion we have ever done for this company. Thank you all for designing this program. Give yourselves a pat on the back from our CEO." Most of the women and men around the table started to chatter in cheerful tones, obviously pleased with themselves. Clarisa eyed them and mentally checking off this stage of the project as successful.
From the back of the room, a man cleared his throat and spoke above the din. "Ms. Feynman, can you please explain why YOU are participating in the field implementation?"
Clarisa slowly walk over to the gentleman who asked the question, giving time for a hush to fall in the room. "Mr. Evans, I am personally overseeing all aspects of the implementation because the team respects a leader that rolls up their sleeves and does the work, from time to time. If you are worried about my well-being..." SCHNICK...She flicked her wrist and exposed the surgically-implanted claws. "...Don't be."
Quickly, she broke the silence by heading back to her folder and pulled out hardcopy reports. She handed them to the person next to her and asked them to be passed around the room. "Please read these full reports when you have time. It contains the information found to-date, and what is in the funnel. I expect our results will increase exponentially as the agents increase security level among the heroes."
Straightening her suit jacket, she said dismissingly. "Thank you for your time today. We will meet again in few weeks, your secretaries will mark your calendars when a mutually benefitial time is agreed upon.". Then she turned on her heels and exited the room. Another silky smile was allowed to pass her lips. Time to get out into the field. -
Dui Zhou reads this announcement and wonders what it's all about. She reaches for her steaming cup of tea and glances out the window of her Galaxy City apartment. Who is Dr. Victor Rush? How would he convince heroes to turn against their principles? What is Sagitaria like...perhaps we are similar in age or interests?
Dui puts down her now empty cup and walks across the room. She picks up her mission roster for the next patrol, flipping the pages back in quick review. Back to Striga! -
