1. I'll have to use that. I had the same problem. Trying to delete custom characters once they exist, seems a real pain. Is there any way to delete a custom group? I haven't been able to do that either.
2. The pack looks great to me. Plus it comes out on my Birthday, so that means I have to buy it.
3. I can understand the reasoning behind the Superleader concept. I could wish that it were an optional thing for a supergroup to have, however; our supergroup has been active since the early days of City of Heroes, and we began with, and have always maintained, a group leadership. I do not *want* to outrank my fellow five leaders, nor do I wish them to outrank me. I like the way we've developed as it is. We've met a lot of great folks, many of whom have joined our supergroups. Several members have created their own affiliated supergroups, and we've all created heroes to join each of those to support each other.

One of the aspects of CoH that I have always preferred to playing a game like WoW is that the competition is a much gentler thing. I'm in no way trying to bash WoW - it's a good game - but I prefer the attitudes I run into in CoH.

I'm usually in the vanguard of the "Give this a chance before you squawk" brigade, but this time I have to say: Can't we please have the option to leave this alone? I'm already seeing this impact a couple of folks, and I simply don't want to mess with the status quo.
4. A thousand cures on my work filter for blocking Deviant Art.
5. I actually don't mind nothing new this year. It'll allow me to get the badges/costumes for the few alts I care about, and then not worry about it. I have to admit, all I really want is the badge/costume unlocks. I've grown tired of the missions themselves.

My wife and I usually just pair a low lvl villain with high hero, or vice versa, and just rip through them as fast as possible.
6. I upgraded my account with the new Mac Pac, and I only have one complaint. A trivial cosmetic complaint, but it irritates me a bit. The new Vakyrie costume clips with pretty much every single shield in existance. Anything that can be done about that?

You've already seen all our responces to the salvage "nerf" as many would put it, so I'm not going to repeat myself except to toss out a couple ideas.
<ul type="square">[*]Would either creating a separate bin for event salvage or tieing them into the personal vault be an option instead[*]would it be easier instead to rewrite the code be so event salavges is counted in the bins the way it is on a character
[/ QUOTE ]
you're skipping a potential third idea...
<ul type="square">[*]If holiday salvage can be easily put into personal vaults (which already contain code for multiple tabs of many salvage types) that would leave more room for *sharing* salvage in the SG bins since there'd be less need to *stash* salvage there.
[/ QUOTE ]

I want event salvage in a public place. I could keep it on my person if I really wanted, the point is I'm trying to share.
8. I just want to go on record saying I think the salvage change is a horrible idea. All my reasons have been stated before countless times now, so I won't repeat, but I did want to get my opinion voiced at least once.
9. Goodbye Lighthouse

You were a great forum wrangler. Good luck in your future endeavors.
10. Could just be an old animation from when they were considering bash instead of the shield charge.

Anyway, both shield and pain look good. I'm very excited to start my Shield/Mace tank, got the name and look already set and everything.
11. Looks more like a robot to me then cyborgy. I expect a cyborg to have a bit more human flesh showing here and there.

That said, I've got a couple robot characters that will make good use of some of these costume pieces, so I'm ok with that.
12. This looks very cool, I'm very excited about this expansion.

Some character creator things I'd love to see added.

1) More user friendly proportion sliders to make it easier to replicate builds across characters. Maybe put a number system on them so you can know your chest size is 75 and your shoulder size is 20. etc.
2) More colors
3) Fill out some of the incomplete costume sets. There are a bunch that could use gloves/boots, etc. My personal pet peeve is the glossy tights (tights 2 I think) not available in boots or gloves. I'll put a few more tails in here to for the werewolf set and such.
4) Perhaps just maybe kinda hopefully, the ability to adjust heights and body builds between costumes????

When I first saw the post for this award I was to say to least extremely pleased. I thought finally the Dev's decided to give something really cool as a thanks to the long devoted players. After reading this thread I have to say, I'm not looking forward to it anymore.

I mean damn, 10 hp -75% resistance, its a clear slap in the face. With all the AoE heavy enemies end game, whats the use of this pet. Can the pet itself be buffed?? I've also heard rumors it can only be used 3 times.

[/ QUOTE ]

In the early game there are actually very few AoE types. Some bosses, but that's about it. The lil bugger will probably be fine. Getting a few of these on a team could be a real boon to the low lvlers getting started.

High lvl, not so useful. Much like a necktie or stiletto heels shoes, they look nice, and occasionally get you a little action, but don't have much real use.

Despite a few faults, I think this is one of the cooler veteran awards.
14. I'd like to start by saying, the pets look really cool and I even have a couple characters who they'll fit conceptually really well. Plus I'll get it in July, so not that long a wait. Would be shorter if I hadn't had that hiatus.

My only concern, and it's not really a huge deal, is that this pet vastly favors ranged AT's. For my fire tank that pets going to last about 1 second. The moment I go in for the alpha strike it'll poof. Some way to plant the little bugger at the corner of the battlefield and say "Sit, Stay" would be amazingly nice. Otherwise I'll summon it on my blaster/defenders/masterminds, but probably never bother on my tanks.
15. People keep calling those who disapprove of this change the vocal minority. When does the minority become the majority, because every single person I know in real life, and nearly every person I know in game, disapproves of this change as it was implemented.
16. [ QUOTE ]
I can get behind that: just make all TFs with the exception of those that are intended to be 'hardcore' have a minimum spawn size of 4, regardless of how many you need to start the TF.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'll also agree, this is the best solution.

I will request that the few "hardcore" TF's they have keep their length below 4 or 5 hours, just for the feasibiility of keeping any group together that long. Currently I view only Statesman, and L. Recluse TF's to be "hardcore." They are a pretty good length. I don't mind adding a couple more hardcore taskforces, but they should be a similar length.

I do feel that the VAST majority of Taskforces should be at the 4 person level.

On a side note, please shorten the Freedom Phalanx and Shadowhard taskforces, they are just needlessly arduous. I would be thrilled if one entire issue was just dedicated to renovating existing Task Forces, and adding a couple more, especially villain side.

Now I'll feel like I can't drop without seriously hurting the team. I'll probably have to say I can't do the TF.

So, why not arrange to complete the TF over a few days?

[/ QUOTE ]

We are doing it over a few days. That said, when my son wakes up in the night with nightmares, or my daughter wets the bed. Or when I have to suddenly run to the drug store for XYZ I have to leave for a chunk of time. There is a reality to being a gamer with a family. The family comes first. If I don't feel like I can react to these minor household emergencies (which when you have a 4 and a 6 year old your house is full of) then i can't do it.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, in reality you wouldnt have been able to contribute 100% to your team to begin with?!?

I'm missing something here I'm sure

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm guessing you don't have kids.

I would be giving absollutely 100% every moment I'm there. But like I said, if a little 6 year old boy wakes up in the night screaming (and I have one prone to that) then are you saying I should ignore him.

It looks like you are say either

1) I should ignore him
2) I should never do task forces.

Otherwise I can't give 100% all the time to the TF. This is a game I love to play, but it's still just a game. Family takes priority.

Luckily I do have a very understanding Supergroup, the core members have been together for years, so thinking about it I can probably get away with a few absenses. There are some however, who can't. This is just one more hurdle.

...edited to add the last 2 sentences.
19. Well, there's a good chance my post will be lost in the general din, but I feel I must say my piece as well.

This is going to kill my TFability. My wife and I can only play for a few hours after the kids go to bed each night. It is very hard for us to get a Task Force together and play the whole thing through at maximum level. Our SG is getting ready to do the Quarterfield TF starting in a few days, and I'm signed up to be a part of it. I can do this because I know that if I have to drop out for a few missions to do familly stuff or help with my kids, they can carry on without me and I can rejoin as soon as I'm able. Now I'll feel like I can't drop without seriously hurting the team. I'll probably have to say I can't do the TF.

This is a change that will seriously hurt the casual gamer, and I'm pretty upset about it. The strength of CoH is it has always been very friendly to me as a part time/casual gamer. I won't run out and cancel my subscription or anything, but it's one more thing that will make me scan other upcoming games.

Valentines Event

Can somebody give me a rundown of what the normal valentines day event entails. I've managed to be away, or unavailable, or whatnot every single time valentines day rolls around. I dunno how I've managed it, but I'm one shy of the highest veteran award, and have never done the event.

What's the general synopsis of what you need to do?

22. I personally don't understand the mentality of "I must experience everything on every character." I'm thrilled that there is so much content that I can't experience it all. That just gives me incentive to do more alts. This is the only game I know where people complain that there is to much content.
23. I'm just doing my best to find a grandparent to watch the kids for a few extra hours so I can get some play time in. Normally the wife and I can only play after they go to bed at 8:00ish.
24. First off, in general I really do like the Halloween event, so please take the following complaints as just looking to improve something I generally enjoy, not trying to grouse.

The costumes are fun, but the costume gathering badges actually discourage teaming, and are starting to get tedius and annoying. I already have all the Halloween badges from previous years on many of my characters. It's now actually non-productive to team those characters for ToTing. Because I only get the costume when I click the door, it's more productive to just have my watch and click every 60 seconds. having to share a door with others on a team actually slow you down. Luckily for me I have a great global chat group, so I can chit chat even whilest I pound that same poor door into a pulp, but it could easily be a real drag.

On the characters without any badges at all it was great fun. The costume badge took me maybe a half hour more then getting all the other badges, so it didn't add much burden.

Oh, and I know it's just my own bad luck of the draw, but I had to log after about 3 hours on my Fire tank last night just looking for Jack, and he never spawned in Talos. My group, and several others, were extremely frustrated.
25. I have to admit for Willpower what I'd like to see is a video of somebody just standing there for a 10 or 20 second period with all the effects going. Whenever they showed shots of the powerset it seemed like they were activating it or it was pulsing. I want to see what the long term look of it is. Not very dramatic I'll admit, but it would be more informative to me.

Other then that, it looked like a great video.
