I'm sure there are many people who have lost a lot of friends/members/teammates over the years and this would be a neat way to start fresh with new characters without having to deal with all the old backstories of older heroes.

I am an old player who recently decided to return to the game. I played a little bit in beta through all the way to when IOs were introduced (I9 I think). So I’ve been gone for about three years or so.

I certainly didn’t want to jump into my 50s and expect to play at high levels so I did play some lowbies to get back into the groove. Now I think I am ready to progress my 50s into the new content but I have a question.

Here is my situation:
All of my 50s are still equipped in SOs. I do have some influence and IOs that I had crafted long ago so I’m not completely starting from scratch. I even have Hami-Os that I can sell once I respec my characters (to benefit from the inherent fitness).

Equipping IOs are obviously the first step but I don’t want to work on equipping all three of my characters. I don’t have the influence to fully equip one of my characters let alone three.

So, to all you longtime vets, if you were in my shoes, which character would you work on?

I have a…

Kat/regen scrapper
Energy/energy blaster (a blapper…are blappers still viable?)
Illusion/Radiation controller

Of the three I’m least interested in my controller. It always felt kind of cheap using her because illusion coupled with radiation is incredibly powerful. I used to solo AVs with her when PA was perma (which I understand can be once again with the proper IOs) before the nerf. But that didn’t really stop me since I later duoed with an ill/kin controller. We used to fly out to monster island to duo GMs…good times.

I do solo a lot but I’m certainly not adverse to joining teams. I would love to be able to solo AVs again with incarnate powers. I’m assuming both my scrapper and controller will be able to do so with the IOs and incarnate powers. I’m not so sure on the blaster.

So which one should I focus on?

Still looking for late night roleplayers.

If you are reading this post, then you must at least be somewhat curious about a late night RP group. If you are not, perhaps after reading this, you will be. After visiting some SG sites and basically trying to reacquaint myself with the game (I’ve been gone for about three years), I’ve decided to start up a brand new roleplay supergroup.

I understand there are actually some good SGs on this server but none fully met my criteria. They were mostly active around 8pm EST, which is too early for me, or the theme didn’t appeal to me. Large SGs would have members who played late but I prefer smaller groups so that everyone can substantially and meaningfully participate in all the stories and roleplay. And joining a well established long running SG would mean playing catch up and my past experience has shown me it’s not easy integrating oneself in such a group.

I’m hoping this post will generate enough interest that we can build a small SG that can collaborate on interesting plots and stories as well as playing the game together. I’d be happy with 4-8 members and probably stop at 12 if by some miracle if I am flooded with players who wish to join. We’ll be starting from scratch, developing our characters together.

If you are interested, these are the criteria I am looking for:

• Late Night Players: I live on the west coast and I can’t login early. Usually I log around 9pm-12am PST. If you are a late night player too and are tired of watching all the server events take place at 5pm PST (when you are either at work, coming home from work or eating dinner), then you are the type of player I’m hoping to attract. All our RP functions will take place in this time frame.
• Roleplayers: This will be a RP SG. I don’t care if you are a vet or a newbie roleplayer, as long as you are willing to immerse yourself into your character. If I had to categorize, I’m expecting the SG to be medium to heavy roleplay.
• No Alts: I don’t want this SG to be a dump for your alts. I’m looking for main characters. This requires more explanation and I’ll explain more below.
• Writers: Ideally, every member will enjoy writing and developing stories. I’m hoping members will regularly update their characters through writing.
• Adults: I’d like every member to be adults in age and maturity.

Once there are enough interested parties, we can work together in coming up with an IC theme and purpose of the group. I will state now that I want to avoid a darker, vigilante style SG that constantly deals with shades of grey and moral ambiguity. I want to play heroes.

As mentioned earlier, I’m not looking for members who are interested in playing their alts here. If you want to be a member, there will be an expectation that you play your character like your main character. This SG unlike others, has a time restriction so if members didn’t actually log into their characters regularly in the set timeframe (approximately 9pm-12am PST), we would lose a lot of opportunities to roleplay together as a SG. So if you know that you may have other obligations during that time in-game (like another SG), then this SG probably isn’t for you.

On the other hand, if you are a player with lots of game time, we may still be a fit for you. Perhaps you are in other SGs but they aren’t active late nights? Then you can easily join up with our group. As long as your responsibilities to another SG does not interfere with ours, then there’s no problem.

And I did check the SG thread but what I found were groups that were either thematically wrong for my characters and/or was primarily an EST group.

Hello everyone!

I’m an old CoX player who decided to return during the free reactivation week. I first played the game when it first launched and quit a bit after IOs were introduced so it’s been a very long time. I left CoX for a land filled with night elves and orcs and had a great few years setting up a wonderful RP guild but ultimately, CoX drew me back.

But knowing myself, I know my excitement for CoX will quickly fade if I don’t incorporate myself in roleplay; it’s the main reason why I play MMOs. I’m still learning to acclimate myself again to the game but that doesn’t mean I can’t begin my search to find a good group of roleplayers. I have a few 50s and I plan to return to them but right now I’m enjoying running around in the lower levels.

What I am looking for is either an active stable roleplay SG to join or gathering a group of like-minded roleplayers to establish a new SG.

What I’d like in a SG, whether it be joining one or building one:
• The SG doesn’t have to be large or have a great base with all the bells and whistles but having enough members to run missions, TFs and such would be great.
• I’m looking for a late night group. I live on the west coast and I typically login 9pm PST (GMT-8) and play for a few hours. I tend to play most days of the week.
• The SG should be medium to heavy roleplay. I like writing RP stories so having a few others who enjoy writing would be ideal.
• I’m not looking for a morally grey group. I don’t mind a few plotlines that deal with moral ambiguity but if the SG is constantly playing the role of a vigilante, then it just gets old. In other words, I like being a hero.

My first option is to join a group. My second option would be to form a SG. I figure if I can’t find a SG to join in the next week or so, I’ll form one for those who are on the same boat as I. Okay, if you see my sig, it's obvious that I play on Virtue and I do RP. The problem is, all my character slots are filled now so I am considering venturing to new worlds.

So if Virtue is the "Unofficial Roleplay Server," then what's the next best RP server? I know this is all relative and subject to opinion but I'm looking for suggestions.
