It does not mention what the SG theme would be.
While I have been interested in finding a group like this for some time, and would be happy to help see this idea through, I am not intent on joining a mercenary force of Punishers, or Pocket D team of sex kittens.
Could you elaborate on the theme please?

I can at least explain in general what I my personal opinions will be. A lot of times, SGs have heroes with a diverse range in powers. I want to avoid that. I want either a "street-level" or "global level" group. Most certainly, a street level group can partake in some epic storyline that has gigantic implications but they will mainly focus on the basic criminals (ie Batman family). On the other hand a global group will concentrate on major threats like the JLA or Avengers.
The reason I want the group to come to an agreement is, well I've learned that when you have heroes with big differences in power levels, RP can suffer. Daredevil won't really be able to contribute a lot when he's running with Thor. How often has Iron Man spent significant time doing street patrols?
If we as a group decide on one group and keep everyone at the same power level, I believe we can have better stories where everyone can participate equally. I don't care what power level we decide as a group but I just want everyone to be on the same page. Again, I want to state that this is just a guideline. I don't want to pigeon hole our group to just the same level of conflict everytime.
As for the mercenary group and kitty RP... I explained that I wanted to play heroes. Most certainly there will be times when tough grey choices will have to be made but mostly, I expect the group to act like the traditional golden/silver age hero. And I'm not even going to discuss kitty RP. It's not worth my time so I think you know my thoughts on that.

I'm sure there are many people who have lost a lot of friends/members/teammates over the years and this would be a neat way to start fresh with new characters without having to deal with all the old backstories of older heroes.

If you are reading this post, then you must at least be somewhat curious about a late night RP group. If you are not, perhaps after reading this, you will be. After visiting some SG sites and basically trying to reacquaint myself with the game (Ive been gone for about three years), Ive decided to start up a brand new roleplay supergroup.
I understand there are actually some good SGs on this server but none fully met my criteria. They were mostly active around 8pm EST, which is too early for me, or the theme didnt appeal to me. Large SGs would have members who played late but I prefer smaller groups so that everyone can substantially and meaningfully participate in all the stories and roleplay. And joining a well established long running SG would mean playing catch up and my past experience has shown me its not easy integrating oneself in such a group.
Im hoping this post will generate enough interest that we can build a small SG that can collaborate on interesting plots and stories as well as playing the game together. Id be happy with 4-8 members and probably stop at 12 if by some miracle if I am flooded with players who wish to join. Well be starting from scratch, developing our characters together.
If you are interested, these are the criteria I am looking for:
- Late Night Players: I live on the west coast and I cant login early. Usually I log around 9pm-12am PST. If you are a late night player too and are tired of watching all the server events take place at 5pm PST (when you are either at work, coming home from work or eating dinner), then you are the type of player Im hoping to attract. All our RP functions will take place in this time frame.
- Roleplayers: This will be a RP SG. I dont care if you are a vet or a newbie roleplayer, as long as you are willing to immerse yourself into your character. If I had to categorize, Im expecting the SG to be medium to heavy roleplay.
- No Alts: I dont want this SG to be a dump for your alts. Im looking for main characters. This requires more explanation and Ill explain more below.
- Writers: Ideally, every member will enjoy writing and developing stories. Im hoping members will regularly update their characters through writing.
- Adults: Id like every member to be adults in age and maturity.
Once there are enough interested parties, we can work together in coming up with an IC theme and purpose of the group. I will state now that I want to avoid a darker, vigilante style SG that constantly deals with shades of grey and moral ambiguity. I want to play heroes.As mentioned earlier, Im not looking for members who are interested in playing their alts here. If you want to be a member, there will be an expectation that you play your character like your main character. This SG unlike others, has a time restriction so if members didnt actually log into their characters regularly in the set timeframe (approximately 9pm-12am PST), we would lose a lot of opportunities to roleplay together as a SG. So if you know that you may have other obligations during that time in-game (like another SG), then this SG probably isnt for you.
On the other hand, if you are a player with lots of game time, we may still be a fit for you. Perhaps you are in other SGs but they arent active late nights? Then you can easily join up with our group. As long as your responsibilities to another SG does not interfere with ours, then theres no problem.
