And don't forget to recolor the hilts of your swords green too.

I would think that the sketch/pencils stage is the time to really hash out the details. This is the foundation of the piece. Granted, once it gets to inks and colors, those stages can also be tweaked.. but wholesale changes to posing or composition are right out.
