Whenever someone trots out the "if you don't like it, quit" line they have just accepted defeat. That is a completely useless and worthless thing to say. A major reason for these forums is feedback. Negative feedback should not be responded to with "just quit" from mindless fanboy sheep.

I'm honestly wondering that as well. It comes across as someone paying to get into Disneyland once a month, only to grouse at the other customers and complain that there are no new rides since the month before.

Okay... then why do you CONTINUE to pay $15 a month? Seems rather foolish to me, if that's the basis of your dissatisfaction.

And don't bother with the "mindless fanboy" retort, there's PLENTY of things in this game that I think need improving. These new textured costumes are a step in the right direction, as are unique mission tilesets and maps, more interesting mission objectives, better NPC Dialogue, etc etc etc. That said, I still enjoy playing. Yeah, it could be better. It could be a LOT worse.

And that, my friends, is why I gladly pay $15 per month per account (I have two) plus the $9.99 for this goodie pack, the $10 for the Collectors Edition goodies, the "Good Vs Evil" upgrade, yata yata yata.

I agree that micropayments should not be used to 'unlock' new content - that would exclude people on teams that didn't have the VIP passes. But costumes and cool temp powers and emotes? Sure.

Well, not in so many words... but your phrasing just leapt out at me...

It's been brought up. So far we've seen no dev response (positive or negative). It may be that the character transfer routines have no way of negating the charge if it's from specific servers, so they'd need to code that in, test it, then deploy it. If this is true (and it's likely that it is) then we shouldn't expect it to happen before the next double-XP or other special event.

Granted, this game charges you ten bucks to move a character... others charge more (I just moved two in That Other MMO, and got dinged $25... EACH. That's three month's worth of play just to move two characters to a server where my friends play.)

And right now, that market is in two places: Freedom, and Virtue.

I don't get RMT spam on Liberty, much. Freedom, on the few times I've created characters there... CONSTANT. Virtue seems to be more player-policed, but it's still a problem.

And with double XP/rewards for three days... hey, the devs just gave their profit margins a MAJOR boost. If I were into RMT farming, you'd be damn skippy I'd be logged into the high-pop servers. Lock or no lock, I'd find a way for entire crews to be on.

It's a freaking gold rush for that business model, is what it is.

as for playstyle "rights"... I'd have to look, but I don't believe the EULA gives the 'right' to claim anything, other than access when access is available. I DO believe there's something in there AGAINST reselling NCSoft's resources/intellectual property... which means anyone PL'ing or farming for PROFIT should get booted whenever they're discovered.

They're running by the adage "It's easier to be granted forgiveness than be granted permission."

The thread list for Freedom Server's forum section is rather interesting to read right about now.

My response to the ones complaining? stop encouraging the PL'ers and the farmers, because the ones doing it for money are clogging up your server, using high-speed internet pipes from overseas to log in people ten, twenty, maybe even a hundred at a time.

I doubt the PL/gold merchants will move to low-pop servers.

they'd be leaving the suckers^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hloyal customers behind if they did that.
