Also, for those who may not know... if you have a bank debit card linked to your payPal account, you can create single or multiple use 'virtual credit cards' that are keyed to a specific website or domain. This is how I'm paying for a lot of my stuff these days... because any untoward activity on any of them links right back to the site itself.

Also, just as a point of etiquette... no one should ever mention actual commission prices in this forum. This is NCSoft's forums, and they don't like third parties (players or not) selling things on their forums.

SO... check out the resources, check commission spec pages and such, send some notes to the artists that you're interested in... and then when you get the artwork, don't forget to post a link so we can all see!

Most of the folks I named off I've commissioned, OR they're a very specific style, namely, pinup art. You guys are in categories all your own.

The thing is... Gill himself would have broken that very contract, by not delivering what was paid for. So I don't think he would be in any position to contest it.

But that's me.



And I may have to look over the contract/commission info he has posted. If he doesn't have methods of redress already listed, then... yeah.

Uh... Jiggly.... let me set something straight, OK?

First off... GillBates has always been a friend of the CoH community, especially the art community. He's also been through some rough times (suffered a chemical burn to his lungs last year) and is probably having to deal with a lot of financial problems as a result. Which means even though a lot of us are walking away from the commissions, we're not gonna tar and feather the guy, until at the very LEAST we know what's happening.

And, doing the en masse "we're gonna sue" maneuver will probably be the last resort... for one, inflicting lawyers on your buddies is uncool, and for another, we'd rather we all get our money back, not pay for some law firm's power lunches with it.

Yah... I think I'm out too... The Soul Train pic that he was doing was looking oh so sweet... but definitely not done... kind of an anticlimax for all the wait and all the cash. I'm just glad I didn't sink as much in as TA did.

But yanno what? I've got a lot done by other folks, and while there's no Jomaro in there, its all good anyway.
