  1. Hate to keep coming back to this, but I believe I have found what it is that is causing the problem. I went to the Tailor with my Spines Stalker and changed my spines animation...after I did this, my placate sound was buggy with him as well. Pretty sure it has something to do with changing the animations of your powers.

    Can anyone back this?

If we knew that was the actual voice devs would listen to instead of informed, educated players we probably would have been bigger dicks back then." -ConFlict
    +1 for total truth.
  3. Does anyone recall the time when some fella on AoC cybored with a GM and put that Cybor on Youtube? The whole time the GM thought he was a female until they were finished...you know...doing it...then "he" broke the news to the GM that not only was "she" a "he" but he had also FRAPS'ed it.

That was some sad sad stuff.
  4. So, I must admit, tonight was not my "first" night playing PvP. Last night I took a SO'ed, PvE build Spines/SR Stalker to RV and was owned as suspected. But I picked up on a few PvP tactics that helped me get the gist of what PvP was doing these days. But...

Tonight, I decided to take a PvP build, SO'ed out, with none other than a Stealth IO, Caws/SR level 40 Stalker into Sirens and to my surprise, the general PvP players out there were pretty damn challenging when compared to the old school PvP days. I was for sure killed a hell of alot more times than I killed, but wow, I must say, these guys and gals sure as hell did make it fun. Spirits in PvP tonight were friendly, nobody complained or became aggravated, and all in all, all players seemed to have a good time.

Even though I came into the zone with nothing more than a Stealth IO and SO's, I did not walk out of the zone feeling like I contributed nothing to the game. I must say all in all, the PvPers of this game has really impressed me. I walked out of the zone tonight very impressed.

I still hate the travel power nerf thing, but after experiencing tonight's game, I have to say, I will for sure be back to fight another day!

    Thanks, Freedom, y'all rock!

I never have. Was never my play style even when Stalkers had a small amount of hit points. I was often congratulated on how I meshed well with teams in those days. With the changes I am inclined to agree with you though, there is zero need for hit and run tactics in PvE anymore with the updated Stalker changes.

One man's nerf is another man's buff. I actually created my Claws because of this change. For a Stalker who was lacking burst damage, that change made the set more viable for my play style.
  7. Claws/SR (Coupled with the Magic Pack's Jump + Run Power and Quickness and Swift and Sprint you will never have a use for a travel power)

    Spines/SR is also fun.
  8. Meh, I did not see anything selected that should not have been. I use the same options for all my Stalker Costumes and it works fine on all other Stalkers. I can only assume it has something to do with the Claws Power set. So unless another Claws Stalker can comfirm this, I will most likely go on ahead and /bug it.
  9. Tried out my Spines/SR Stalker and the sound was there. Heading back to the Tailor now to see if I can't get to the bottom of the Hide FX you were speaking of. If it is there, I *will* find it. Thanks for the help.

I have non +Def stalkers, so I like the audible notice for having been unhidden by enemy attacks.

If you make a sound when you do hide though, I don't think that's the issue. The only thing I can think of is to see if other people with the same powerset experience the same thing, and bug it if so. Maybe they just screwed up that version of Hide.

I'll check it out tonight. I have multiple Stalkers of almost every Power Set. I will give them a test drive tonight before I log off and get back to you with my findings.

I am in the creator now and I do not even see an option for that setting.
  13. Hmmm...not that I am aware of...

I will check my settings and see what it does. But when I activate Hide by itself, it does make a sound, just not when I placate a foe.
  14. Claws/SR

Used to be with all stalker sets, you would hit placate, then with any follow up attack, you would hear the activation of Hide when you attacked, sounded real spooky and gave it a flavor. Now when you attack, you hear nothing but the sound that attack alone makes.
  15. Noticed that when you placate a foe, then Assassin Strike him, the sound that always accompanied the Assassin Strike is no longer there. Anyone know what's going on with that?

    Good PvP Videos?

I have a couple "ok" vids from long ago. But nothing you can learn from since the mechanics of the game has changed so much since those days. When I begin PvP again, I will have to relearn PvP all over again....so if you watch any of mine, watch them for the entertainment, not to learn from.
  17. ...and I thought my Avatar was scary.

In have nothing on whatever that thing is in his Avatar. I don't think I even want to know what that is.

  19. How's it going, Freedom. Been awhile since I have been on the boards here, but I come here today introducing Cyberian Gothic's One Year Anniversary! We will be holding an event on Sunday, December 27th in Pocket D at around High Noon!!! Unfortunately due to lack of Infamy, we will not be able to include the red side in on this. If this changes, I will post that change on this thread.

1st Event: Good ol fashion costume contest. All Freedomites are welcome to participate. All Levels. There will be 4 winners. First place winner gets his or her choice of 100 Million Influence, four hours of Farming, a Respec Recipe or any Task Force of their choice. Second place gets a choice out of whatever is left, same for third and fourth place winner gets whatever prize remains.

2nd Event: Trivia!! What in the hell would an Event be without a Trivia Questionnaire? There will be ten questions, with a reward of 10 million influence per winner of each question answered correctly.

3rd Event: Battle Royal in the Arena!!! Last man standing, all levels, up to 64 participants. Last man standing will win 100 Million Influence!

Whoever plans to be at the Battle Royal, please sign up on this thread. Any sign ups after 64 people will be held on a secondary list, any no shows, and we start pulling people out of the secondary list of sign ups.

    See ya soon, folks!
  20. I don't doubt that, I may end up eating my own words there, heh.
  21. Wow, I sure hope not, because that would really give me wicked clowning rights if you were to be owned by an RPer in the open PvP Zones. o.0

Haha, I guess you've got me there, bro.

I do not need a drone to win though, I have an Assassin's Strike and a woman to fight along my side! "Hell hath no furry like a woman's scorn." If that is not hardcore...

    See y'all soon!

    1. PvP 2.0 completely destroyed test arena PvP. It literally does not exist anymore. Those that stayed in the game naturally spend more time in zones now.

    2. PvP in general became far less popular, with lots of people quitting altogether. This led to PvP on basically every server except Freedom to die completely. People that still wanted to PvP pretty much all transferred to Freedom.

So basically, PvP is a joke compared to how it used to be, there are far less people doing it than before, but specifically zone PvP on Freedom is as active as ever, maybe even more so.

Yes, I used to PvP on Freedom before I left the game. At least it is good to hear that Freedom PvP has not died altogether. Even though my account is active, I still will be unable to actually play the game until around late January, if not a bit later.

I did not mind most of the PvP changes, the toggle drop thing became a bit annoying, but easily adaptable. The whole thing with the travel power suppression is what really lead me to leave the game. To me, it was like they took what this game had above all others (The pure speed of PvP in this game) and dumped it into some unknown river where nobody would ever retrieve it. I just could not and probably never will be able to get into the slow movement of the new PvP in this game.

But, after being away from this game for quite some time, and trying other games on for size (Not any of the other hero type games, I did not sell out) I find myself wanting to come back to this game and hopefully reestablishing myself in the PvP community.

Be warned though, I do whatever it takes (Outside of droning) to win. I do not chit-chat in the zones, I get my kills and I get the hell out of there. So if you happen to fall short of victorious to any of my onslaughts, understand that I aim to win, and it is nothing personal other than the fact that your dead corps has just added to, or upheld my reputation.

P.S. And for those of you who remember my annoying butt, be warned; when next I show my face, I will not be alone. "Dar be a vicious woman aboard dis ship! And she aims to kill along meh side!"

    Love, it's a wonderful gift!!!
