Stalker Sound missing?

Noticed that when you placate a foe, then Assassin Strike him, the sound that always accompanied the Assassin Strike is no longer there. Anyone know what's going on with that?

What powerset? That's not going on with my Stalkers (MA and DM).

Claws/SR

Used to be with all stalker sets, you would hit placate, then with any follow up attack, you would hear the activation of Hide when you attacked, sounded real spooky and gave it a flavor. Now when you attack, you hear nothing but the sound that attack alone makes.

Ah, I miunderstood. I thought your AS itself wasn't making sound.

Did you set your Hide to have "No FX" in the costume creator?

Hmmm...not that I am aware of...

I will check my settings and see what it does. But when I activate Hide by itself, it does make a sound, just not when I placate a foe.

I am in the creator now and I do not even see an option for that setting.

You should because definitely SR as well as WP and Regen all have a min-FX option for all their powers including Hide.

The reason I asked is that if you enable the no/min FX option for Hide, it stops making a sound. Personally I find this annoying - I wanted no visuals but want the hide sound because it's an indicator for when I've unhidden. I have non +Def stalkers, so I like the audible notice for having been unhidden by enemy attacks.

If you make a sound when you do hide though, I don't think that's the issue. The only thing I can think of is to see if other people with the same powerset experience the same thing, and bug it if so. Maybe they just screwed up that version of Hide.

I'll check it out tonight. I have multiple Stalkers of almost every Power Set. I will give them a test drive tonight before I log off and get back to you with my findings.

Tried out my Spines/SR Stalker and the sound was there. Heading back to the Tailor now to see if I can't get to the bottom of the Hide FX you were speaking of. If it is there, I *will* find it. Thanks for the help.

Meh, I did not see anything selected that should not have been. I use the same options for all my Stalker Costumes and it works fine on all other Stalkers. I can only assume it has something to do with the Claws Power set. So unless another Claws Stalker can comfirm this, I will most likely go on ahead and /bug it.

Hate to keep coming back to this, but I believe I have found what it is that is causing the problem. I went to the Tailor with my Spines Stalker and changed my spines animation...after I did this, my placate sound was buggy with him as well. Pretty sure it has something to do with changing the animations of your powers.

Can anyone back this?

Claws/SR: Tested outside Tailor.

Hide activation sound does not occur after placate, nor after landing an attack and waiting the 8 seconds to get back normal hide status. Tested with all the FX, the only difference being Minimal FX didn't play sounds at all.

Tested inside Bloody Bay:

An interesting thing happened: While fighting a freak tank, I placated him, and he immediately stunned me through mez protection. The hide reactivation sound played after I was unmezzed. Otherwise same deal as outside tailor.

I distinctly remember the situation you described, were placate would play the activation sound for hide again. I just can't remember when that was taken out.

Unfortunately, Claws doesn't have secondary animations, so I can't test your second theory.

EDIT: Someone killed me while I was idling in Bloody Bay and writing this up. I feel so loved.

As far as Claws is concerned, I do not believe the problem is directed at sets who only change their primary power set, I believe it also pertains to sets that change their secondary as well when done at the Tailor. See as how the secondary was the only set I was able to change on my Claws/SR Stalker, that is the only logic I was able to conclude to the problem. So, if my theory is correct, then it does not matter which power set you change, be it primary or secondary, it will affect the place sound of your Stalker.

Theories of course, but with the testing I have completed, that is the only answer I can come up with.
