Both the "recluse" gloves & boots are Ascension. I suspect that the aura shifts & pulses and the screenshot was taken at the moment that the aura wasn't strong on the feet area.
  3. To answer the question in the thread title, the answer is "yes".

I can confirm this. The ONLY belt (edit: affected by this) is the studded leather belt. This belt is a PAID costume part, and should be fixed ASAP.
  6. It's been a while since I did that mission.

As to badges that Praetorians can get, see the link to the Going Rogue Badges post.

You can also find a few day job locations around Praetoria (not including First Ward).

    Edit:
Those 3 badges are exclusive to Praetorians starting characters though.
  7. I don't know if I should feel better or worse about that. Also I thought I had a few belts that didn't do this with jackets.
  8. The error is most easily explained with a picture:

The character has the belt with that jacket, yet every time I try to edit the costume, the studded belt disappears. The Costume Creator will happily charge me to reselect the belt, but will not apply it.

I will also note that the belt DOES NOT CLIP with the jacket in any way.

And yes, I can use the belt with other tops.

  10. The answer is #2. Even going back as far as Issue 18 beta, there has never been a badge for that mission.

For a full list of Going Rogue badges, see my "Going Rogue Badges" post.

    Edit:
There are a couple possible badges that you -might- get for that mission though.

Loyalist - (Praetorian) You spent some effort bolstering the Praetorian regime of Emperor Cole, or at least appearing to do so.
Resistance Member - (Praetorian) You have lent your support to the Praetorian Resistance to overthrow Emperor Cole, or at least appeared to do so.
Moral High Ground - (Praetorian) (Choose morality 5 times)

None of these 3 badges are specific to this mission, just that you can get credit for any of the three.

Incarnate Stuff I'm in the middle about: Lambda, DD, Apex, Tin Mage, and CoP.

Incarnate Trials I loathe with a deep and abiding passion: MoM (far too gimmicky), Underground (far too long). Both of these trials completely underwhelm me with time vs rewards. They are simply not worth the time invested in them.

    1. Is it possible to get this badge through ouro on my hero turned villain?
    2. If so, what am I missing?
    Answers:
    1. Yes, it is possible to get this badge through ouro on a hero turned villain.
    2. You're likely missing doing the side quests.

Did you follow the notes on the paragonwiki link?

Accept the flashback mission from Vincent Ross.
    1. Before entering the mission, talk to Vince Dubrowski, Lorenz Ansaldo, or Diviner Maros. Maros might tell you to get lost, talk to one of the other two. Remember your choice.
    2. Enter the mission.
    3. Click on the radio near the door.
    4. Do the side quest, complete the mission.
    5. Talk to Vincent Ross.
    6. Accept next mission.
    7. Before entering the mission, talk to Vince Dubrowski, Lorenz Ansaldo, or Diviner Maros. Maros might will likely talk to you now, but the other two might tell you to get lost.
    8. Enter the mission.
    9. Click on the radio near the door.
    10. Do the side quest, complete the mission.
    11. Talk to Vincent Ross.
    12. Accept next mission.
    13. Before entering the mission, talk to whoever you talked to in step 1
    14. Go to step 2
Repeat until the arc is finished & you get the badge.

I could talk to either Dubrowski of Cage Consortium or Ansaldo of the Family. I chose Ansaldo. I could access the radio when I entered the mission.

The next mission Ansaldo wouldn't talk to me, but Diviner Maros did. When I entered the mission, I again talked to the radio just inside the door.

From there I switched off between Ansaldo & Maros each mission. At the end of the second last mission I got both of the badges.

Originally Posted by Kheldarn View Post

After accepting the first mission, the last bit of filler has text in blue at the bottom, telling me I can choose to work with Lorenz Ansaldo or Vince Dubrowski. It also says that I can work with Diviner Maros if I've done his arc.

Being that this character is a Level 50 Hero Scrapper turned Villain, I have not done Maros' arc. So, I chose Ansaldo, as per Snow Globe's advice.

Inside the mission door was a radio. Using it gave me an (Optional) Mission Objective. I completed the (Optional) Mission Objective, and then the Mission.

After talking to Vincent Ross and accepting the 2nd mission, there was once again text in blue at the bottom of the last bit of filler. Interestingly, this text SPCIFCALLY tells you to talk to Diviner Maros.

I talked to Maros, and he gave me info for my next (Optional) Mission Objective. Once again, inside the mission door was a radio, and using it gave me another (Optional) Mission Objective. As before, I completed the (Optional) Mission Objective, and then the Mission.

After I exited the mission, I called Ross. This time, the blue text said if I was working with other factions, I should contact them. Once again, following Snow Globe's advice, I went back to Ansaldo, who set me up for a third (Optional) Mission Objective.

As before, a radio at the door gave me my (Optional) Mission Objective, which I completed, along with the mission. After exiting, I called Ross again.

This time, Ross told me to talk to Darrin Wade, and there was no blue text. I tried talking to Maros anyway, and he gave me the standard, "Looks like your busy" text. Ansaldo did the same thing.

After talking to Wade, I had to call Ross again, where I got my next actual misson (instead of a FedEx). Interestingly, the blue text said if I was working with other factions, I should contact them. Instead of talking to Ansaldo, I talked to Maros, and he set me up for my next (Optional) Mission Objective.

Once in the next mission, I tried to use the raido to talk to Maros. However, nothing happened. The radio did nothing. Thinking I had screwed up talking to Maros, I made my way to Botis, and at the end of talking to him, I was presented with a 3rd option, in addition to the options to keep my promise and free him or to renege and fight him. The 3rd option was to ask about the power behind the Leviathan. Botis could tell that I'd been in contact with Maros, and answered my question (with a little fluff text, and a Clue).

After beating down Botis and exiting the mission, I called Ross, and got my next mission. Once again, there was no blue text. Regardless, I went and talked to Maros again.

Maros gave me my final (Optional) Mission Objective, telling me that if I contact him once I'm in the mission, he'll come help me. And sure enough, as soon as I clicked on the radio inside the door, Maros spawned. His rank was classified as Seer. I didn't think to check his HP, but I don't think he took much damage.

He was really nice to have, as he continually cast Fortitude on me, and used his Psi attacks on foes. With his help, I managed to take on the Slag Golems with no problems. Granted, I was running at -1, but I'm pretty sure I did that in the Beta, and still had some issues with them...

    Once I finished the mission:

Congratulations! You earned the Keeper of Coral Lore badge.
Congratulations! You earned the Connected badge.

So, there you go. Talk to Ansaldo, then Maros, then Ansaldo, then nobody, then Maros, and finally, Maros one last time, remember to use the radios just inside the mission entrance to be given (Optional) Mission Objectives, do the (Optional) Mission Objectives, and you should get the Connected badge.

I'll point out that I'm one of the few forumites that noticed (or at least spoke out about) a significant DECREASE in patch downloading with the switch from the old City of Heroes Updater to the NCsoft Launcher. I'd expect it to be far worse if PMB gets involved.

Of course if you want to use Demon Summoning after the free month of VIP access, you have to somehow unlock MMs (subscribing, buying an unlock, or getting enough Paragon Reward Tokens). The Electric Control set is available on Dominators, but if you want to use it on a Controller, you'll have to unlock those too (same restrictions as Master Minds).

  21. My ISP has a $2/GB overage for internet usage. I don't have an option to go to a competing ISP, as the ISP in question has a monopoly on Cable Internet in the entire province. This ISP is known to use P2P throttling software.

As far as directives from NCsoft. I'm sure everyone in this thread can provide examples.

Is there any actual evidence that Pando is spyware, or does anything at all beyond acting as a proprietary bittorrent swarm?
Again, I'm not concerned with -incoming- traffic. Once the files are downloaded, it won't download to my machine more. However, my ISP calculates traffic in both directions. Having this program on constantly streaming to other people offloads NCsoft's costs to me. That stinks.

There isn't a way to block it from going out to the Internet without disabling it.

I'm not objecting to it because it is spyware, it isn't. I'm not objecting to it because of the amount of incoming traffic, as once I get the files I don't download them again unless they change.

    What I am objecting to:
    • The program as it does run outside of the launcher.
    • That my ISP does monitor P2P traffic (and actually throttles it).
    • That I get billed for overages beyond my Internet service plan.
    • That some manager at NCsoft will likely impose this garbage on me, despite the fact that I'm already a paying customer.

    Edit:
I'll add that Pando is not currently on my machine (I have not installed either Lineage or AION, and will never will now). My main concern is when this dreck will be made mandatory for City of Heroes.

It isn't incoming traffic that I'm worried about. Additionally the problem is between my cable modem and the NAT. As far as I know, my traffic limits my ISP is monitoring goes in both directions, and by the time it gets to my router, it already counts as "usage".

Is it wrong not to want to know what is running on my computer and what those programs are up to?

I was (and stress "was") intending to try AION once it went free to play. Not anymore.

I'm also wondering how long it will take the same twits to apply the same patching process to City of Heroes. A NCsoft directive can move that system from Lineage and AION to this game. That is why I'm speaking up NOW instead of AFTER it is done.

I don't know, I'd call it "something bad" when a program is installed, without warning I might add, that can aggressively eat a customer's ISP bandwidth cap. Worse, the NCsoft installer doesn't turn off said program when not in use. Instead it allows the P2P client start up with the OS loading.
