I see alot of people mentioning why someone from the EU is bothered by losing their global and that the EU will get an extra 11 servers where as the NA only get 4 to compensate. What they are failing to see is you already had11 servers to our 4 for 7 years and since then we have made our bed and for most are laying in it quite comfortably.

I was not one that wanted a merged list, and never screamed high and low about it, I was one that screamed high and low that Going Rogue was not going to hit shelves in the EU.
This was my way to increase our server population, not a server merge. Our shelves in the EU are populated by other MMO games and we have nothing that screams play CoX over here.

Now NCsoft missed that boat and in compensation we get a merged server list, fine I thought maybe this will increase our population, but then we get hit with the NCsoft baseball bat yet again and told don't get over excited here, this isn't a merge after all. All we are doing is letting you onto to out main server list and you got to pay for it, pay for it with your Global name.

I am now one that is very much dead set against being shipped over, and would like to thank NCsoft for their offer but No thanks, I would like to stay as we are please.

I would also like to add that a month ago, I paid to have my global changed, it was the same name but I changed it to all lower case for ease of using e-mails etc.

Now after purchasing this, I am hearing NCsoft snigger at me, we got his money now announce he 'might' lose his global anyway.

If global names mean nothing to you, why are you called Bloodspeaker ?, why not have your global name as '@Not bothered or @Don't care?

So I've posted a few humorous posts on this thread as I was taken a back by this, but now I have calmed down.

I know the servers are highly populated on some of the NA servers but how are the communities within them?

I think the big issue with the global names in the EU (speaking on own experience within Defiant) is that everyone goes by them, and on some levels we also use nicknames for our global names as we are such a tight nit community.
Everybody knows everybody on Defiant, through all the previous kicks in the teeth our population has held to the same level with exactly the same loyal Globals regularly keeping Defiant alive.

Because a lot of the EU player base normally stick to their home server, actual toon names are hardly ever used is this the same on NA?

The first thing I do when I join a pug, is click on each team member and Add note, immediately I know whom I am teaming with, even if I have not teamed with them for some months.

I know people have taken huge amounts time building there global name and their reputation as either a good player, nice player, helpful player or those that like to RP, TF or even PvP. We even know the globals for the bad apples on the server and use this as a means to avoid. Basically what they are doing to Defiant will be taking 6 years of history of hard fought reputations and close bonds and dumping it in the trash without giving us a chance to defend ourselves and that is what hurts.

I believe a fairer system needs to be addressed, I can take losing my global if someone had it before me but that's about it, no other system will work for me.

Will I quit over this, no.
Will I be left with a bad taste in mouth, yes.
Will I venture to a NA server, most probably not after this.
Will seeing my global name be used by someone else hurt, yes most probably (especially if they are a tool)

It sometimes seems that someone is looking at figures and saying "look we have upset the EU here and numbers haven't dropped, we upset them again and still they haven't dropped, looks like whatever we do to them we arn't gonna lose any subscriptions so don't take a chance at upsetting the NA peeps"

Just wondering, will super group names be affected by this also?

As far as I know you can't change a SG's name, and if it follows the same basis as global names The Legendary Titans with a bit of bad luck could end up being The Legendary Tit.

Maybe in a way we EU's can use this situation to our advantage, we will be subjected to this scenario rest assured, the powers that be had no problems with all our complaints regarding boxed editions in EU, so this is just a minor inconvenience to them.

What could be a nice way to look at this, would be to use EU at the front of your global as a title and a honour, an achievement showing how loyal you are to this game through all the crap they keep throwing at us and the way we get treated.
Seeing someone walking about with EU_ in front of their global marks what type a player they are, and how committed to the cause they are.

Just a suggestion, but would be a nice substitute to having your original global.

Remember stay Defiant, keep your Union strong, Zukunft to the Na players who feel this is just another of a long list of EU wine and stay Vigilence till the end. (see what I did there )

So If I get this right, if a name collision occurs and you get a letter chopped off, Bright Spunky would be known as a Bright Spunk , or Magnifico The Cocky would be know as Magnifico The **** rofl.

My main will forever stay Defiant.........but I may venture to you NA servers to see what all the fuss is about

Would you even need to use the code? yes you would miss out on a free month of game time but I can still use the dvd to do fresh installs of CoX, which would be the main reason for buying it, as I hate to download from GvE edition due to ISP bandwidth restrictions.

Plus I like the bumpf

I didn't think physical copies had anything to do with accounts, I thought it just decided which version of the updater you use.

With the merger surely there will only be one updater, which can be accessed with either EU/NA boxed editions.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but does this mean we can now buy a physical copy of Going Rogue and use it now?

Hi all, just wondering with the global merge, will I be able to buy a copy now of Going Rogue NA. Being from EU this stung not being able to get a physical copy. But now we will be all on one list maybe I can use the NA edition now?

Never had chars locked out like this before, iv'e raised a ticket letting support know.
Is it a pretty simple thing for support to unlock these or am I faced with deletion for these chars?

Yeah I sounded out about this on our Servers main channel, if others were experiencing this there would have been a riot , so guess it's just a problem my end.

I'm am on the EU server Defiant.
But nobody else on server seems to be affected by this.

Was attempting to access ouro when game crashed.
This char is unavailable now to log in with as game freezes (char is a vigilante).
Since then I have tried to access ouro with a hero and a vigilante and game freezes and now these chars are also causing game to freeze when selecting them.
I have now tried a villian and a Rouge and they have accessed ouro no problems at all.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Riddler
Mephisto

yep shows that, and have never had problem getting on test till today?

Don't think I have updated since GR on test, but it won't let me connect on updater, keeps coming up with wanting to change filename from .exe to .prv
