  1. Wow! Congratulations, that is a beautiful piece.
  2. OK, I am still working on this when I get the chance, and since it is not a comission I am not worried about time spent on it. I did some work on one of the arms and a shoulder piece.

Most of my time was spent on the hand. I am horible when it comes to hands and I was determined to make it look right.

Anyway, the link in my OP will take you to the update.
  3. Well, I have finally decided on a character and a pose for my first jaunt into CoH Fanart. I wanted to do this piece right and so I have been taking my time to make sure I was happy with the pose, the angle, and the presentation. So far this is what I have done:

    Guss Justice - Level 50 Energy/Devices Blaster

Don't be too harsh on me yet, as this is still a work in progress at this point.

When done he will have his cape and a background. And in case you are wondering he is supposed to be hovering and blasting. This will become evident when I get it done, but I wanted to clarify that because it may not be completely obvious at this point.

I don't know about saving the day, but here's the ink! Gonna take a lunch break then off to color...

    [/ QUOTE ]

That is looking fantastic!!! I can't wait to see the color.
  5. Fuzzy,

Thank you for your kind words. It seems that a lot of people really like the evolution piece even though it isn't the one I would have picked... go figure

I was really thinking people would like the Transformer I did in 3D, oh well.

Also, thank you to everyone else that has stopped by and added me as friends or added favorites to some of my pieces.

**runs off to get to work on CoH piece** (well, after work that is.... )
  6. Both of those are really awesome!! Great work.
  7. OK, I have uploaded a bunch of art to my DA page. Most of it has nothing to do with CoH... yet. I am just trying, at this point, to get my artwork out there so people can see what I have done and can do.

My DeviantArt page link is in my signature.

I would really like to do comissions, but I am not yet ready for that. I am currently trying to get myself prepared by studying comic art working with different poses and figure studies.

Please feel free to go take a look. I will continue to update it with items I have done. And before too long I hope to have a couple CoH pieces that I can submit as an example of what I will be able to offer in the way of comissions.

I am not going to ask for people to submit screenshots, mainly because there are already lots of posts with some great source material, not to mention my own huge library of CoH screen shots. If I do decide to draw someone elses character for one of my example pieces I will post it and give full credit to the character's owner (and possibly even send them a full size image of it).

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and having a look.

P.S. I have come to love this section of the forums. You people rock!!! Not to mention have some really incredible talent that is constantly inspiring me.
  8. Awesome!!!!!!!!

Thank you guys so much for that info. I will be downloading this tonight to try it out.
  9. I am looking for something like the CrypticAR or Poser that allows you to pose a character for refernce, but is a stand alone program and is free.

Does anyone know if one of these exits? And if it does, where could I find it?

I wish I had 3DS Max so I could use the CrypticAR... oh well.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

Anyone know if there is a specific version of MAX needed?

    [/ QUOTE ]
The web site says 3DS Max 8 or later.

    Had to share!!

I have two monitors going, so I can play COH and surf as well, but it takes some concentration, and if I get excited while I'm playing the cursor goes wandering to the other screen!

22" inch monitor... does the game expand to that size? Or do you have empty space on either side? What's the max resolution on that? I wanna see an interface screenie please...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes, the game will streatch to fit a 22" monitor. It is actually a very beautiful thing because you can move all your little windows off to the sides and have a nice clear view of your character and the action.

But I am in the same boat as you. I have two monitors and I often find myself clicking on the other monitor at the worst times.

    Anatomy!

"Figure Drawing for all it's Worth" by Andrew Loomis

there is also "Anatomy for the Artist" but I am not certain who it is by.

you can also just go to your local Barns and Noble, or other major bookseller, and view the art section. There are always books on anatomy and figure drawing. They even have them in specialized catagories like Anime and "drawing the Marvel way" if you are into those type of styles. Just look through them all and pick one that you like.

There is always Amazon.com or simply Google "Anatomy" or "figure Drawing".

And when all else fails, go buy a couple body building magazines and study the muscles. You evidently don't need to draw people as big as they are in those magazines, but you will at least be able to see the muscles clearly to help give you a better idea of where they are and how they move.

Anyway, I hope some of that helps. And good luck to you.
  13. I just recently got a new 6x8 Wacom Intuos3 tablet and have been playing around with it and trying to get the hang of it. As those of you that use them know, they are not always easy to just pick up and use right away. So, I have been tinkering with the settings and such.

And now that I have the setting close to where I want them I decided to give it a spin by doing a more detailed drawing of one of my characters.

    So, here is Asyrael

This is still a work in progress and so I will probably do some more work on it and repost it when finished. But for now, I am pretty happy with this first attempt.
  14. That is looking very nice. Very nice indeed.

Of course it didn't. Getting D&D as a MMO was expected to be a license to print money. It's arguably the most influential property to this industry, and the fact that it was such a dissapointment is a shame.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I beta tested DDO, and to me it seemed like the same people who made the game were the same people that made the movie. And the movie was really bad on a lot of different levels.

It is just sad to see a great license like D&D wasted on a game like this. Needless to say I was dissapointed with the game at release. I have been tempted to try the free trial just to see if they actually made any improvements.

They should have contracted BioWare to make DDO, I am sure it would have been a LOT better. When was the last time BioWare made a bad game? Especially a bad D&D game?
  16. Thank you all for your feedback. I think I am going to get a Graphire 4 6x8 Wacom Tablet. I like idea of having a larger work area.

Also, I think that the 512 levels of sensitivity should be fine for me. I also don't think that I will miss not having the tilt ability since I have been using PhotoShop with a mouse for so long.

And finally, the price is right. I can get it for around $160 on Amazon. This is a better price then I can get with a student discount on some other sites.

So, again, thanks for the constructive feedback.

I am hoping to get some stuff done this summer that will be worth posting here. But, currently I am so busy with school (I have 3 studio classes and I am working full time) that I don't have much free time to devote to personal projects.

But, please check out my Blog (in my sig) to see some of my current artwork. It isn't CoH related... yet.
  17. I am looking to purchase a digital drawing tablet for use with PhotoShop and I was curious what others are using and their satisfaction levels.

    - What is the make and model you are using?
    - On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 = do not like at all, 10 = love it to death), how would you rate your satisfaction with it?
    - What do you like most about it?
    - What do you like least about it?
    - If you could get a different one, which one owuld it be, and why?

Hopefully I can get some good feedback so that I can make a good decision based off of people actually using the product instead of some pre-biased review.

    Thanks for any feedback.

I'm honestly tempted to set up my own website (like bayani) hosting all the stuff done of Juggy.

Either that, or he's getting his own Wiki page.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You could always start a blog and just update it regularly with new stuff... or old stuff... or just stuff.
  19. This is coming along very, very nice.

The point I would like the Devs to get is: how bad we all want spines to get a new look.

    Later,
    Zyph

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, but "we all" don't want Spines changed. "We all" want it left just the way it is.

In my opinion Spines are one of the best looking sets in the game and the way it looks was the main reason for me picking it in the first place.
  21. **Post deleted and moved to here, where it was more appropriate.**
  22. In your introduction you said the following:

My favorite games are Galaga and an obscure game called Crazy Climber.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Is Crazy Climber the game where you have two joysticks and have to climb up a building while avoiding falling items and things in windows?

If so, I loved that game. I only go to play when I went to one of my friends houses because their father was a repair man for arcade games.

Anyway, welcome to the community. Pull up a chair and enjoy the good times.

A comment on datamining. While I can't tell you exactly how and what we look at in datamining, I can say that we don't usually look at 'Defiance' in and of itself. Overall performance matters much more than any single aspect of a character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Doesn't that make it terribly difficult to understand what contribution any given power or aspect provides to overall performance?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is why powers that need fixing never get fixed. They don't know what powers are underperforming because they don't take the time to even look unless we (the community) keep repeating it over and over and over until someone looks at it.

It takes dedicated people, like Arcanaville, to actually test and discover what needs fixing otherwise their datamining only shows slight performance drops because we have found ways around the holes (like taking Acrobatics on a Fire Tank).
