    So I just...

Thanks for all the replies guys. I had almost forgotten how awesome and helpful that this community could be. :3

Human Being, that Dual Core, Motherboard, and RAM that you suggested. Are you saying that I am dissatisfied with how I run with just that Power Supply and Video card, that I could then purchase those when I have the cash and continue to upgrade from that, still using that power supply and video card? If so, then that's exactly the type of thing that I am looking for.

Edit: Holy crap, I didn't even see this had a second page. o_o

The card plus the upgraded PSU place you at around $200, which is a good portion of the way to the funds you'd need for FatherXmas' $600 budget build (check his signature in his replies to this thread)

Your current CPU is lacking quite a bit, expecially in modern, multi-threaded games.

The $600 build the FatherXmas put together would significantly outperform your current build, even with the upgraded card.

If you have around $200 to work with now, and if it is even remotely possible for you to save up the rest in 2-3 months, that is the most efficient choice, as you would then not be needing to upgrade other components in another 3-4 months.
I know that it would easily outperform if I were to get his $600 build, but simply don't have the ability at this point in time to have that much money at once. That's why I figured that slowly upgrading this one, piece by piece over time would be the better option, even if it would cost a little more in the long run.

Why wouldn't you suggest doing it though? Just curious.

Also, with the card that I'm thinking about getting, can you tell me exactly what I can and can't run on it?

    So I just...

Yeah, I just checked it out and the reviews look better to me as well.

Would you suggest I get any fans as well since they're cheap?

Edit: Also, just a random question. This video card that I'm planning on getting, how well, if at all, can it run things like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Borderlands, Left 4 Dead 2 etc?
  4. SinOfEnvy

    So I just...

That actually works out perfectly for my budget Father X-Mas. You're awesome!

Are you sure that my current power cord will work with that though?

    So I just...

If I am reading it right, it's telling me:

    Input 100-127V ~ / 8.0A, 47Hz-63Hz
    200-240V ~ / 4.0A, 47Hz-63Hz
    Output: 250W MAX

As far as a free 6-pin connector goes, no. I only have two free ones and they're one small and one large 4-pin connectors.

From what I understand that you're telling me, that means that I wouldn't be able to run that card. What would you suggest I do as a best possible situation, because I only have about $200 to spend.

Oh, I am well aware that GR won't be out for a while, but my machine runs CoH at a less than-wanted pace right now and I was wanting to upgrade anyhow for both CoH and a few other games.

Thanks for that link by the way.

    So I just...

Restarted my subscription after a while due to the accouncement of GR and some of the things that I have seen, but I realize that my computer is TERRIBLY outdated to play GR at even a decent setting.

I can't remember exactly how to tell you guys what type of computer specs I have, but I was wanting to get a new Video Card for starters. This is the one I have in mind.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130468

    My main questions are:

    1. Can my computer use this card?

    2. If I have no previous experience installing anything but RAM, should I do the installation myself?

3.) Do I need anything else to run this card on my computer?

Also, just to clarify, I know no one can answer until I post my specs so I'll need someone to tell me what to do there first of all.

Secondly, I DON'T have the money to get a new computer, so please don't suggest that I just upgrade to a new one.

EDIT: I think this is what I need to post. If not, please let me know.

  8. Some of the things in the youtube video would have been pretty cool...

Walking through the hospital and store doors without that very mior black screen would be so awesome.

Anyone else getting the "you may only have one heavy at a time" message when you try to get a heavy and you do not already have one? Obviously a bug. Any way around this?

    [/ QUOTE ]

It happens when you log out with a heavy still under your control. Just try logging back out, then back in.
  10. Maybe there was a cloaked hero inside the pillbox with Leadership.
  11. Well, I was just in RV and we actually managed to take both Black Scorpion and Lord Recluse both down! Without the Heavies and with arouyn 30+ heroes, they were actually quite easy. Did they somehow debuff them without a patch because a few days ago it was nigh impossible to even put a scratch on them.
  12. I'm still curious if anyone has seen the Arachnos Flier yet because since I7 has been placed on test, I haven't seen it once.
  13. I personally love doing the side missions but the amount of ambush's you get in the "Smash & Grab really put a dent in my time. I've actually failed 2 Mayhem Missions so far because of the excessive ambush's.
  14. I don't know if this was posted in here or not because I don't feel like reading through it. In my Mayhem Mission in Talos Island I got an Exploration Badge named "Talon Of Talos" while walking down a small alleyway.
  15. [ QUOTE ]
    Ok just for your knowledge...

Relentless is the hardest setting. Don't expect it to be easy.

If you set it to Relentless assume you're going to get a hero instead of a boss.

Heck any other "AV" mission set to that level and you'd get a Hero instead of an Elite Boss. I don't understand why people are flipping out. If you wanna solo or duo a mayhem mission kick the difficulty down some...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I was only on Vicious.

Did Mynx get the new animations for the Claws set? I swear she's the only EB I've had trouble with in Mayhem Missions, she shows up and SLASH SLASH SLASH my health is in the red before my firist attack finishes animating. And either she has a nasty acc bonus or I've been unlucky the 4 times she's popped up because she cuts right through the purples I always take with me on Mayhems.

This on my elec/elec brute btw, lvl 32 with fresh SOs and she still cuts me down in seconds. Only way I've found to beat her is to jump out of the mission and go buy 10 purps from a nearby contact and pop 5 at a time, and sometimes even that's not enough.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just had the unfortunate incident of running into an EB Mynx as my MM as well. She managed to kill me and all of my bots in about a 1 minute spam over a spam of about 13 minutes to spare. No matter what I did, she would wipe my bots out faster than I could heal them or summon them. She didn't even go for me until all of my bots were dead, I call that one smart (and hard as crap) hero. She could 1 shot all of my bots except my Assault Bot, but he only took two. Even with Bodyguard on, the one time she did go for me it only took one 4 hit combo to wipe me and my bots out. I thought I was on a role too, I had done 3 side missions. :'(

Well I finally dinged 50, got the super lvl up animation(fireworks RAWK MY FACE), and it said I unlocked an Epic Archtype.

    Gotta check that out.

Also since IBM Ref already got SoS I won't bother slotting mine, i'll just throw those last 3 slots in some powers that need em.

EDIT: Eh it was nothing. I got all excited thinking I could make an Evil Kheld.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's probably just there because of what it says on heroes, they may have just forgot to remove it for villians.
  18. [ QUOTE ]
not sure if this is the right place to post it but Heavies (the in-zone pets) can't be port-friended. not sure if this is "working as intended" or simply following the elite boss mechanism of not being able to be ported.

port friend would definitely be so nice on them considering how slow they are.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The can't be recalled from what I can tell. I thought it was because they were to big but it may be a bug.
  19. Seriously, just let the villian players test out the zone for at "least" one day. That's not asking much of you at all.
  20. Quite frankly I'm sick and tired of the dozens and dozens of hero's that camp the villians base. They have been doing this since I7 has hit Test and I'm really, really tired of it.They aren't giving the villians ANY chance to leave their base saying such stupid things as "We're testing out camping" and other stupid crud. There's needs to be some kind of GM or game Administrator to come in and tell these players to stop as the villians cannot get ANY TESTING DONE IN RV. At this rate, it will hit live and something will be wrong with the villians side. Then, the flames and everything will come showing how ignorant human beings can be. I know that over 80% of the people who play this game are probably the most arrogant people you will ever see, but for god sakes I beg of you, please, please, please let the villians out of their base at least and stop camping like a bunch of wussies with a shallow feeling of superiority.

Ok, got my level 40 brute logged on in daylight so I could see something and was not lagging too bad.

I had a hard time trying to figure out where to go and where not to go.

I found the plates that describe the patrons but did not find the patrons themselves.

I did find the Rikti Ambassador, and at least he was willing to offer me missions. I dont know how anyone is suppose to find him except by luck or word of mouth.

I also found a spider who would talk to you but he said he did not trust me. Wanted me to take out a Toxic Spider to increase his trust. I went over, killed one (purple boss and fell down 3 levels in the process) but it didnt change what he said. Supposedly his trust level never changed. Dont know if this is a glitch or what. I will have to try it again later today.

I did manage to zone out of grandville but almost disc. in the process.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There's now a progress bar for Toxic Tarantulas, complete the bar then go speak to the tarantula again.

The heroes have more advantages than just slots and HO's:
Accolades, epic powers, and the 4 extra power slots make a huge difference. Also, just about all of the heroes are fully HO'd on test.

    [/ QUOTE ]

My scrapper has ZERO HOs. He also doesn't have tactics, focused accuracy or conserve power. I see stalkers with nothing but Focused Senses.

I didn't even USE my dark mastery except against AVs in RV. The only villain that I could rip through was an em/invul brute thanks to his high s/l dam-res.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I couldn't kill anyone.

With all the lag I was getting along with being an Ill/Emp troller, solo'ing is nigh impossible.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Just my thought: Instead of tossing your thugs a clip of ammo, how about tossing them a can of spraypaint? I think it fits pretty well with the "gangster" feel of the set.

    AnubisXy

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't see how tossing them Spraypaint could possibly make them stronger.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Nice zone from what I've seen...I do like Recluse talking to the citizens in the beginning...nice touch.

However Spider City is very laggy/choppy for me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Those Recluse Screens talking to the citizens has to be the coolest thing I've ever seen in this game.
