Yeah, random drops are random was my first thought too.
But like, the two I got burning the Incarnate arc I can easily shrug off as random, but getting 3 purples in as many runs of my farm map is a little more difficult. For reference, I usually get 1 purple every 2ish runs.
As I said, I've gotta test it more. If that yields me lots more purples, so much the better -
I realise I could just be having really, really streaky good luck but uh, has anyone else noticed a higher purple droprate? I've not formally tested it yet myself, but the few runs of my farm map (Liberate Television, +1x8) have yielded more purples than usual.
I've noticed the purple prices on the market seem to be dropping too, so I thought the two might be connected.
Anyone else notice this? Or have other ideas? -
Quote:Well. From what I see so far some of the most solid players on Champion have given some very sound advice which you seem to have thrown out the window. Silas may post in a way that may seem rough around the edges, but that just Silas bein' Silas. As much as you may or may not dislike Silas his advice is accurate and well said. You shouldn't be so quick to dismiss helpful advice even if it's formated in "Silas speak".
Now that that's out of the way, I'm available to help out if needed. I can provide a Kin or Cold corr, an Empath, a Fortunata, or a DM/SD. -
Quote:You call my post where I offered valid feedback "meaningless dribble", insist I'm trolling, chest thump about being "alpha" like some frat boy cretin and you're incredulous about why I've not offered to join?Exactly Amily! Well put and ty... (I know I am not 'your' wissa$$ guy, but others have quoted me on saying that before /chuckle)
Funniest thing to see is the logic of people thinking this is helping.. From the games biggest 'melee suck' 'I got 99 Corrs' person is saying 'you need more buffs/debuffs' and does not offer to bring one of such toons.. /incredulous
Really?
Like, really really? -
Quote:I wasn't saying that the players on the team aren't good players, I'm sure they are. Nor was I saying that carrying anyone would be necessary. My point was that the RSF or MoRSF can be done by a small group of people so the other people can bring whatever they want the badge on.On second thought...we will make it work.
Some people may not want to be "carried". I'm sure the people on team consider themselves good players. As none of the really good players have offered to help the team I guess we will just suffer through.
I need to add that I can only commit to this until 8:00. PM EST
The point being that solid support and communication/teamwork is more important than whatever uber team makeup. Good luck with the run -
I'm not sure why you'd mention that you can afford purples if you're not going to use them, good for you I guess? Still, if you change your mind purples can be a great benefit to a Fire/Dark for the recovery and rech bonuses. It'd also free up a lot of your 6.25% rech bonuses, allowing you much more build flexibility with higher gains.
Anyway, on to the build. I'm not sure even with the Cardiac and DC you're going to be okay on endurance. All of your end-heavy powers (your AoEs, mostly) barely have any end rdx.
I'd get some more accuracy in the Dark Servant, 43% isn't really enough to hit higher level stuff since you don't have any -def.
Could you explain the slotting on Howling Twilight? It seems sorta frankenslotted but the recharge (imo the most important stat) isn't maxed and you've selected IOs that give acc but HT is autohit.
I'd go with a Stun instead of a recharge in Soul Transfer. Your global rech and Hasten should be more than enough to have it up any time you need it. The extra few seconds of stun when you're getting back on your feet will be more useful than having it recharge ASAP.
Other than that, the build looks very solid -
Thanks Shin and Fiery
That's my point, that rather than going with a "Rule of 3" for potential failures I'd rather structure the teams better so everyone can get the badge.
A solid core of 4 or so really good players (Kahlan, Cam, Shin, Fiery, Horus, Ecnat, Stray, Amy, etc) can quite easily carry the other half of the team as long as they're able to listen -
Call me a troll if you will, but the fact is you're starting a MoRSF run with very little support.
Looking at your roster, you've got one, maybe two people playing characters with buffs/debuffs. A Mind Dom sleeper is all well and good, but a single +3 Hero can still wreak bloody mayhem on a barely-buffed team.
My opinion is that you'd be better off trying to get a more structured team together and doing several runs so that everyone can get the badge rather than saying everyone bring whatever you want. Now, when I say structured I don't mean HURR MUST HAVE 2 THERMS 2 COLDS 1 KIN 1 STONE BRUTE or whatever perfect team, I just mean that the team has you know, a little more support. Buffs and debuffs are important on a RSF, let alone a MoRSF.
GL with your run just the same. -
You'd probably have more luck if you got a rough build together and asked for feedback.
To get you started, here are some general pointers:
You can 6 slot Touch of Death or Makos Bite in a few melee attacks for Melee or Ranged defense respectively.
Stick a Steadfast 3% def IO in True Grit for defense to all positions.
You can 6 slot Gaussian's Fire Control in Focus Chi for 2.5% def to Melee/Ranged/AoE.
Dragons Tail and Shield Charge can be 6 slotted with Obliterations for Melee defense, 5 slotted with Sciroccos for AoE defense or 6 slotted with Multi-Strikes for a bit of both.
If you take a Patron/APP ranged attack, Thunderstrikes will get you good ranged defense.
You can 6 slot Red Fortunes in your defense toggles to get some recharge and 2.5% ranged defense.
Pick up Tough and Weave, Weave being the more important of the two to stack for more defense to all positions.
Hope that helps -

Quote:I think you misunderstand. It wast a question of regularity (doing it weekly/monthly/whatever) but that there waszero information provided for over half a year after the event.Silas... I do get what you are saying... I probably could've done monthly... BUT rest assured (and I have witnesses) I was always keeping VERY accurate (borderling obsurd) record keeping of what all was happening with the auctions. Mind you this was before the auctions even hit! You should see the Excel Spreadsheet I have. To my own fault, I do not think we were prepared for the amount we received.
-
Um, did anyone actually say anything about auction funds being misused at all, let alone misused for the Mr/Mrs Paragon Universe thing?
I was talking about transparency in how theChampion-raised funds were being used on Champion.
Dazz, you might want to reconsider how you write posts. I get that you're enthusiastic and hell, maybe it's just me but they don't come across as very genuine. -
Quote:You play non-Scrappers all the time now, you've come a long wayYou're going to bid on me and make me play something non-scrapper aren't you. <_<
Besides, you're one of the all-too-few people who don't make me frownyface bringing melee to a team
Edit: Straaaaay I hope you are planning a super kawaii catgirl event. My multitude of catgirls have gone unappreciated for too long -
Quote:Yes, once Dazz started posting the breakdown he was fairly regular about it. However, the first breakdown came more than six months after the event.I dont think we had to be nagged
I thought we kept the records up to date every few events.
That will be something that can be addressed and made more clear in the future.
As for nagging, I don't know who else was interested in seeing a breakdown so I can only speak for myself, but yes, I felt like I had to nag to see it done. Honestly, as a matter of principle I don't think it should even have been necessary to ask.
Indeed, lets hope things are more straightforward in future. -
Quote:I agree that it's important that the communities money makes it back to the community. Equally important however, is that the trust that the community places in the reps (or whomever) is reciprocated from the get-go with transparency in what is being done with their contributions/time/effort.LOL! Yes... I don't necessarily "care" what happens with the money as long as it goes back to Champion somehow, someway. This is however why we made sure towards the end to giveaway as much as we had left so it wasn't a HUGE amount of money leftover.
Also... like Cherry confirmed we do still plan to do the Auctions in January (as is tradition) just not under the PERC Banner. We have had LOTS of people in the community asking when the next one would be and dying with anticipation for the next one. So do not fret... we will be hosting the third annual Player Auctions in January! Stay tuned! All is in motion!
I think it's a shame that the reps had to literally be nagged to be forthcoming with this information, information which I would have thought a basic courtesy to extend to the community who had taken part. Not just the "accountants" of the server.
Hopefully things will go a little smoother now. Here's to the future of the Champion community. I'm definitely looking forward to the next Player Auction -
Since the AoE in KM isn't great, I prefer to maximize SC by getting a full PS stack before using it. I'll hop into a spawn so they huddle into AAO, hit PS and start wailing on the biggest baddie there. Once I've got PS maxed I'll drop SC and Burst.
What's also a neat trick is using the teleport part of SC. If two spawns are close toyeher or there is an ambush inbound, I'll SC from the middle of the first spawn into the middle of the second. That way you still benefit from a full AAO, KD/kill a bunch in the second spawn and are in position to keep murdering things :3 -
Quote:Sounds like a solid plan, wish you the best of luck with it. I trust you'll be using the rest of the funds from the Player Auction still?Dear Champion,
First and foremost, thank you for your continued support over the past years of PERC and all of its events. Without your support none of them could be the huge success they continue to be. It is because of you that we are who we are and that we have got to where we are. All we can do is say, THANK YOU!
If you were at the Black Friday Game Night last night, then you probably heard our message last night. All of the Champion PERC Representatives have made a slightly difficult decision to leave PERC. Last night, was the last event you will see from the many familiar faces that have represented PERC over the past few years. While there are many personal reasons that will not be discussed, the most important message was clear; PERC is not your voice.
Our focus over the past few years has always been to be your support and work to clean up the tarnished image PERC once had. While we had thought that we had met that goal, the outcome was not legit. PERC, simply put is not supporting you the way you deserve. PERC was full of false pretenses and was more of a misrepresentation of what many of the games communities and populations actually were. While it may have been a upward battle or non-completable challenge, there were too many forces working against it. Those forces varied but most importantly came from within. PERCs motto was not being upheld and the community voices were not being given care and a proper voice. This is simply why we had to leave, our main objective was not achievable and our communities were not being given the support they deserved.
You guys (our community) noticed this too however and spoke out. You pleaded for change and voiced your opinions in abundant numbers. This was first witnessed last January, when Champion filled Pocket D to the brim and brought a tidal wave of support for PERC to utilize throughout the entire year. NEVER has this been seen on any other server or any other event. It was then that we should have listened to our public and heard the true outcry for support they were asking for.
Yet, we failed to ignore the first calling sign, but thankfully you all did not give up. Throughout the rest of the year you continued to speak and plead for support and finally that day as come. All of us that have served on PERC are realizing the true message and are evolving our commitment to Champion. We no longer need a specific banner to run under, a specific motto to follow, or a false committee to represent. We already have the true essence of what player events are, our Community. Without you guys, we are nothing. With you guys, we are everything. As long as we have your support we can achieve any event goal set we desire.
It is no longer about PERC and its false sense of committee and resourcefulness. It is about the COMMUNITY! Events ran BY the community FOR the community. Our population no longer needs PERC, it needs each other. A support system we have had all along and failed to notice and capitalize on.
Sincerely,
Your former Champion PERC Representatives; Dazz, Cherry, Fanged, Pound Cake, & Starforce -
Quote:Empaths who are unable or unwilling to balance using their primary and their secondary are crap Empaths.[...]Personally I prefer pure healer build on a defender simply because your less likely to have someone to miss a heal and die due to the defender blasting[...]
Keeping up buffs and being on the ball about healing makes you just about competent in my eyes. Only if you can do that and attack are you a good Empath because it demonstrates a greater knowledge of your abilities, the ability to prioritize and understand the fight, the team, etc. -
I didn't say AVs are a big deal on a team because I don't think they are. I don't think the KM -damage debuffs are a deciding factor when fighting an AV, but I do think they're much more helpful than DMs -tohit, Katana or BSs -defense, the slows from Spines etc.
The other secondary effect I'd give weight to would be the extra damage from Fire. Seeing as Scrappers are there to kill things, Fire is arguably the best at that.
I don't play my KM Scrapper when I want to bring utility to a team, I'd play one of my Corrs who would, as you say, bring much more utility. But the fact that KM does have that utility gives it the nod for me over other primaries for teams. -
Quote:I say this for two reasons. Firstly, because I think -damage is more valuable against a hard target like an AV or GM than -tohit or -def. Secondly because of the way damage debuffs make -resist debuffs more effective. So as you stack the -damage from your KM attacks it will make any -res and -damage from the team more effective. How so? KM offers some mitigation which really isn't needed on a team, and pretty much every other set save for DM and MA have better AoE damage output.
I'm very fond of KM as a ST powerhouse but the above quoted comment just baffles me. If anything I'd rank it as the worst team-oriented primary out of all choices (with the obligatory caveat that "worst" still means "pretty damn good" in this game, as too many people tend to confuse "worst" and "bad"), because on top of the above the amount of self damage buffing a KM scrapper can sustain means he gets relatively less from damage buffs, and the best KM chains don't require much recharge, making ally recharge buffs superfluous on IOed out builds. KM brings less to a team than other primaries and also receives less.
I disagree that KM receives less than other primaries on a team. If you're making the argument that IOd out KM benefits little from team buffs like +recharge, surely that's also the case for other primaries? If you've got high recharge from IOs so PS has little downtime, then Soul Drain/Build Up/whatever are going to gain similarly small benefits from team recharge buffs.
Basically, I think melee ATs bring 2 things to a team. Damage and aggro control. All of the primaries bring damage, so its a question of how much. KM brings massive ST damage and decent ST damage, but the utility of the -damage swings it for me. The -damage debuff also helps with aggro since unlike -tohit, a damage debuff actually applies 6-8 damage debuffs, one for each damage type.
I chose KM as a primary because it brings utility to a team beyond killing stuff. If my only concern was killing things, I'd have gone with another primary or hell, a Blaster. -
Quote:Every AT without mez protection has a way to deal with mezzing threats. Controllers and Doms mez them first as you say. Corrs and Defenders can debuff them and most have mezzes of their own in their blast sets. MMs can use their pets to take the mezzes. PBs and WSs have Dwarf form. Blasters can still use their primary tier 1 and 2 attacks to kill whatever is mezzing them.Yeah, but they also need more greens and/or purples to make up for the substandard defenses. I get how CERTAIN AT's do it (Controllers/doms mez everything etc), but for peeps that lack hard controls, it seems like you'd have to turn off bosses or just not run certain mishes. Then again, I solo a lot, so...
You don't need to turn off bosses or not run missions that have mezzing mobs. Hell, once you get to the mid-late 30s there are basically no enemy groups that don't have mezzing. What you do is you play smarter.
I disagree with the idea that ATs without mez protection have "substandard" defenses. There are 14 ATs, 6 of them have mez protection in their primary or secondary sets, 8 if you include Dwarf form for the Khelds. Having mez protection and personal defenses is only standard if you only play melee characters, in which case you have little to no basis to be making judgement on the other ATs. -
