The damage seems well liked the fact that cor's and def's leverage the effect better than blasters not so much.
-
I have an AR/fire blaster and Im wondering if I need to reroll, Im looking looking looking at the numbers and there is NO way to leverage the new snipe effect, there just isnt enough +to hit availible without relying on yellows and thats... not good.
Now If I do need to reroll.
What would have better leveraging, Ar/dev or Ar/time cor. -

Quote:No 99% of the time, gather is better than spreading. And along with what I stated, there is in fact some versions of it that are bad, and need to be fixed, chances for KB where you want something KB'd and it doesn't because oops, your RNG didn't like you. Powers like gale, frag grenade and any other power that has a chance for KB needs to get off the fence and either be KB or no KB. Chance for knock back is even more troublesome than just plain knock back, with plain knock back you at least know what's going to happen.
Its not the perception thats the problem, its the way the leveling works.
If you want to see knockback be usefull, allow it to function on Eb's and Av's, but they wont, because people will just permakb them to make them easier. -
Quote:Slower=bad for most players...KB is always good to have. My Energy blaster lives on it, and it's not even slotted with extra KB. Your target gets slapped across the room? Go target the next one. The team doesn't suffer because the mobs still get defeated. Who cares if it's the melee or the ranged that's doing it. People are letting one poor experience with a poor player cloud their entire judgement of everyone else that happens to have similar powers.
The solution of an optional KB to KD converter IO is the only fair way to give everyone what they want. If KB were changed fundamentally across all sets, you'd neuter whole sets for no reason.
Kb-kd io is a good idea, having it availible as a limited time item.... not so much...
I though they didnt want 1 bil io's again, and thats what they will have when the event ends if another method of aquisition isnt put in. -
Quote:Wrong approach, and still wouldnt work. The way I see them working is that alltho they are harder to kill without KB it can still be done.
Make mobs with watered down versions of Rise to the Challenge and Sunless Mire that work off of friendlys instead of enemies. Then gate these powers behind the combo system from dule blades to prevent them being used in the alpha. Then use the same system that is used to spawn Quntams and Cysts in missions for spawning the mobs.
Then you have mobs that are easier to kill when spread out that can spawn randomly in any mission. I'm not saying that they should be imposable to kill when their grouped up just hard.
This forces players to face these enemies randomly in the normal mission content. This effects the desired change in perception that all KB is bad, and encourages teams to take players with KB.
People would just FLOCK to MA where they would never spawn.
The problem is KB is only usefull against a single hard target like an AV, which strangely knockback doesnt work on......
You already need to kill many many many many thousands of mobs to hit 50, making it more painful is not a solution to anything. -
I play on virtue, freedom and justice
But justice is seeming more and more abandoned lately, so Ive been slowly transfering my characters off. -
Quote:Yeah but having one slot thats so valuable and will not be available after july 30th is going to lead to some insanely massive prices on that item.I wouldn't necessarily call the other five enhancements garbage. I've had more than a few times when I needed something to slot in where I only had two or three slots free on a power, and nothing that I could fit in really had much oomph to it. An extra 12% regen or 3% damage isn't too shabby for two or three slots. Nothing to write home about or a game changer, sure, but it doesn't hurt to have either.
Thats poor design. -
Yeah Im starting to think the -kb is going to sell for 300mil to start and rise to close to 1bil when the event ends.
The rest of the set is never going to break 50 mil if that. -
Quote:Thats a non starter.....You can. The KB problem is with player perception.
This can be fixed by making mobs that are faster to defeat when spread out than when they're bunched up.
if they are required mobs people will complain that they dont have KB, if they are optional, people will just avoid them because they are suboptimal... -
Quote:Yes there is a KB problem because not using a main attack because its too situational does not make you a good player, it makes you a bad player for choosing a set that you cant use your attack and you have subpar dps.The devs can't tackle a "kb problem" because there is no kb problem. The only kb problems I see are:
Players who have no clue how to use KB... easily remedied by teaching them.
Players who supposedly refuse to allow others who use KB... never ran into this but easily remedied by 1 starring and not teaming with them.
Neither of those things can be fixed by the devs....
You can't fix stupid.
Kinetic melee is a prime example, its only got 2 aoe and 1 is so highly situational that its almost never used, occasionally it can be used to push mobs but most of the time it just sits idle in someones tray, thats NOT good play.
Changing it to KD makes the entire power and powerset MUCH MUCH MUCH more effective even for a good player. -
Quote:You do need some amount of -regen or god thing and sylvia can be really problematic and slow.I have played all of my toons twice now... and no one has dropped from the team on purpose (did have a DC.. that came back).
Might I suggest you use the star system for these people who obviously have no clue that any team can do this.
My last run was a blaster (arch/dev), pvp scrap (spines/regen), me (fire/time corr), and a PB..... maybe I just have better luck?
and its not that it cant be done, its just that it takes twice or three times as long and its faster to drop and get a new team.
And you cant star them because, by the time you know that its a problem they left. -

Quote:Its becoming especially unfun, because the percieved easiest/fastest victory is with a taunter Brute/tank and -regener cor/def/cont/mmNo doubt. But unfortunately we have no way of knowing how long this will be. Will it be right after the event or two years from now. But these procs are game-changers for a number of builds. I've never bought into the idea that you're 'forced' to do anything for a reward. No one is making me do this terrible event over and over other than me.
But I still don't like it because this particular IO has been requested for many years and introducing it in this way just seems like they want to annoy us.
If you dont get both of these, people tend to drop team.
Im starting to think that way too. -
Quote:Yeah now it feels like its 5 garbage enhancements and one ULTRAUBERVALUABLE one.I didn't say I agreed with their logic - the value of the non proc enhancements went out the window when they said Catalysts wouldn't work on them. And I only have use for two or three procs myself.
Seems like its just silly grind because of the way it was implemented. -
Quote:It sets the level to who first aquired it, then it never changes after that.I thought the same thing until I used my only character below level 50 (a level 36 Defender) to complete the event. Once I received the drop, the enhancement text said that I must be level 33 to use it. I wonder if this is working as intendedI?
I also observed, as I went into my base to store them in my enhancement bins, that the enhancement that I received on the level 36 character does not stack with the level 50 enhancements of the same type within the bins. Is seems like even though you can't see a level on the enhancement, they still have one.
It would be nice if when they fix the market they also take every Overwhelming Force enhancements to level 10 or just remove the minimum level requirement.

Im sure this is a bug, its a weird one though, just want to make sure Zwill knows about it. -
Its not a terrible event, its allright them first 2 or 3 times, but farming it endlessly just looking for -kb which has been one of the most requested things ever is just silly.
-
-
Its also not adjusting its level when its traded....
-
-
It seems somewhat unexciting other than what can be done with the KB-KD, the possibilities are just amazing...
Someone just mentioned that Bonfire can accept universal damage..... um.... oh.... well...... Thats going to be interesting -
Why would something thats been so requested be non tradable?'

Quote:Im only really refering to is the Mex protection which is such a big big BIIIIIIIIIG powerboost for squishies.Uhmm it is not pay to win, but you can go ahead and think that if you want lol.
The buffs do not let you WIN the game.
The buffs are TEMPORARY.
There are already in game items for free and infinitely available to you called inspirations which have the same basic effect
If you belong to a SG you can get in game buffs from the empowerment station that last an hour.
Amplifiers do not allow your character to do something "super awesome omg I am now 50."
These are less "pay to win" than the xp boosters.
For melee's there is nothing there worth it. -
THe ad is great, pay to win.... not so much.
