  1. 1. Templars of Steel
    2. Darkguard
    3. Personal SG
3.5 lots of toons back in Darkguard

although I've had toons in other SGs as well--UHB, UHB's Kheldian arm.

With Champion being a community server, I prefer my own SG and private base nowadays though. Love the DG folks still however!
  2. I'm having a similar problem. I can log in, but once I select a server I get booted back to the main screen with a message telling me there is no response and to try this server later. None of the servers I tried were full (red).

    Curious, myself.

    Hey there!

IMHO, I always figured the difference was aimed at forms. In lobster form, your survivability is much higher, so knocking down opponents keeps them close, and you can keep their aggro. In human form you're much squishier, so knockback helps you keep the mobs at bay, giving you time to fire off a heal or whatnot.

Remember that Khleds are designed to be 'CoH expert mode'---giving you an AT that is very flexible and can be built dozens of different ways. Keeping the same extra effect (like KB, or KD) really limits the AT as far as I'm concerned.

    YMMV!
  4. Fire is great, both as a primary and a secondary. I will say that I find /fire great for blapping. Fire Sword is a single-target attack, but Fire Sword Circle is PBAOE.

You might like radiation--it's a fun set and helps trash defense. But if you're looking for high damage sets you shouldn't worry so much about visual appeal--go with what's damaging. If it needs to be high damage AND pretty you'll find your choices limited by your own sense of aesthetics. Remember you can colour tint most powers, and that with i19 there are often options available for animations. You might be able to put together something that meets your criteria.
  5. I second you on SR. My stalker is /SR and really does need the entire power set. I'm not sure how inherent fitness will change that...automatic health and stamina still don't anything for defense.

I can still see the entire set in my future...
  6. Nice! Thanks very much! I'll take a look through these and see what I can learn.

    I really appreciate this, Adeon!
  7. Yeah, I'm going for ranged def. I know this isn't frankenslotting, I meant that I'm not very good at that so I didn't try.

I tried to aim for sets that would give me ranged def bonuses since that's pretty vital for blasters in my experience.

'Hover-blasting' is, IMHO, vital for an NRG blaster...mitigate that knock back!

    All advice adored, tho!

Side Note--I'm alpha slotted for end recovery on this toon and can't use end fast enough.
  8. One of my blasters is an energy/fire and a lot of fun to play. I'm going to respec this one on the 8th but need advice as I'm not yet too good with frankenslotting. I'm trying to keep good def while keeping the powers that always make this toon fun to play.

Here's what I'm sitting with so far.

    Thanks in advance, folks.

Just answerign your original question....my fave toon is an NRG/Fire blaster (I know, I know...). At 50 and slotted out she blaps like no one's business. Here's an example.

Drop [Fire Ring] on the toughest guy in a mob, charge in with [Hot Feet] going, drop [Burn] and watch everything start to die. [Fire Sword Circle] picks up stragglers.

My snipe has been called a 'blue side AS'.

Why am I a blapper? Because when I blap, everything dies quickly and horribly. Only on Master runs do I resort to traditional blasterism.
  10. Nice tip Psy, thanks! Any other MM strategies you know of, feel free to share!

I did pick up stealth however....makes it easier to drop poison traps and such right where I want 'em.
  11. Hey!

I'm a new MM player as well...let me give you a pointer, regardless of which primary you run with.

Check out Sandolphan's MM keybinds here. It will make life easy.

Here's how it works...look at your Numpad. Buttons 1-3 will select that kind of henchman (1=tier 1, 2=tier 2, 3=tier 3) with 0 selecting all of them. Easy.

4,5 and 6 will choose aggressive, defensive or passive stances.

7 gives the 'attack my target' order; 8 is the 'follow' command and 9 is the 'goto' command.

After just a couple minutes of play this becomes incredibly intuitive. In literally 2 seconds you can issue different orders for each kind of pet. I also mapped the regular TAB function of cycling through enemies to the / key on the numpad and 'follow' to the asterisk; I have literally played through some mishes with one hand on the keypad and the other holding a drink. Not recommended for PVP.

Anyway, it'll make you a master of masterminding.
  12. Just dinged 39 today. It's been a long, hard few days. But I'm loving this bots/traps more and more with every mish.

I certainly see what's meant by 'set up time'...I've found it works well when I fire up a mini-base (triage, acid mortar, etc) and lay out caltrops (which I bet is even more win when loaded with procs).

Honestly though, with properly geared up bots I don't worry about the mini-base unless I'm fighting bosses, AVs or something similar. I've heard its possible to solo some GMs with a bots/traps...that's the next big challenge.
  13. Thanks for the advice, everyone!

Made my first MM and slogged through to the 20s range--bots/traps. Amazing...I found the dynamic of multiple pet control rough at first but once I popped in a set of keybinds (Sandalphon's) it became a snap. The entire game has a very different vibe now. Amazing!

I think I've got a favorite red side AT now...

    Architect Mishes

Thanks for the suggestions, Aure. Exactly what I was looking for! I'll tweak the mishes and hopefully you can run it again after you're all caught up!
  15. Please sign me up and keep me a spot. Global is @Shaytanah and I'll be on my katana / regen, Ho Hsien Ku.

If you need another AT let me know and I'll bring that.

Play mine, Aure. I'm at work so don't have the arc ID but you can find it with my global. When I'm home from work I'll edit it in. Arc is called The Asclepine Incident. Needs feedback. Also try Zube's one about the cows. One of my favorites.
  17. Awesome work Tom, and thanks!

Cleary 'sexeh-ness' is your new inherent.

Drat, I'll be at work. But good luck to everyone...may your every swing be suitably cytotoxic.
  19. Hi all,

With the arrival of GR there's suddenly a lot more red-side action on my home server, so I've decided to dive into MMs. I've tried out a friend's MM and, learning curve aside, found to be a blast.

I've decided to make my first MM bots/* because I'm most used to blasters and would prefer the ranged dynamic. The main thing I need now is a proper secondary.
/FF looks pretty good for the buffs and such but I don't want to discount /dark either due to the tar patch / flame potential.

What would you folks suggest as a great secondary for a bots MM, and why?

    Thanks everyone.
