This is why I cannot enjoy 'House'. When I see Hugh Laurie I don't think of medicine, I think of this.

Cherry, I got used to disappointments of this kind back in 1987, when, according to Buck Rogers, "NASA launched its last deep space probe..."
Made my childhood sad. -

Hi!
As mentioned above, Champion is basically a really big SG. I can't even remember the last time I actually posted something on coalition chat.
Seek out some of the big, busy channels and you'll have no problems. BMT, Darkguard Network and Champions United are three great ones.
Hope to see you in game! -

Quote:*sniff* You made my day, Emp.The first time I teamed with Prvt Slacker, Angie B, Shaytanna, Demobot and several other great players were on PUGs.
You're right though....my best friends in game were ones I either met on PUGs or via people I met on PUGs.
Some of the biggest idiots I've met, I've met through PUGs as well. -
Quote:It's my understanding that the majority of the players participating in this league are new to pvp and many of which have no experience outside of the pvp bootcamp recently hosted on champion. .
Well, a lot of the players have been PvP'ing for quite a while. Yes, alot of players are new to PvP. But if we follow the old road of extreme elites dominating then no one new wants to keep PvPing.
Personally I don't care about skill levels, who wins, who loses, who is leet. I care about having a blast with a bunch of cool people, getting the adrenaline pumping, and having a massive, sh*t-eating grin when I log for the night. This PvP league has, so far, accomplished all of that for me.
This makes it win and nothing less. -
Quote:I've never had as much fun PvPing as I have in the last week. Cherry, Braije, Sinny, Enigma, MAH, Philly, Myrm and all the rest are all great players, great teachers and great people.Yes, in the current league there are some very elite PvP'ers and happy to be there PvPing with and vs them. As far as comparable to skill of ones in the past, again the response is yes. They were elite then and they are still elite now, specifically some of the players in this league.
Love em. So there. -
Hey folks--
Rolling a new blaster. My main (and favorite) toon is NRG/Fire (yeah, yeah, I know...) and I want to remake her. She's occult / hellfire themed in my head, so here are my two choices:
Fire/Fire -or-
Fire/NRG.
Looking for team-based PVP effectiveness and fun. Played a lot of blasters, but neither of these combos yet. Opinions? -
Hey all--
I've been down with a bad flu for the last few days and am still not back up on my feet so I won't be holding HFC tonight. If someone else would like to lead it tonight, feel free. Otherwise we'll be back up next week.
Sorry for the inconvenience. -

It was fun and the riddle giveaways were a blast! -
Thanks, B! It's only a success when people show up, so the credit goes all around.
I was absolutely amazed how quickly the hunts went; really glad there were some GotKO accolades earned that night. I'll post this weekend concerning the next few weeks' events. Croatoa was so fitting, I'm going to think about what other content is really magical in nature and hit some of that.
What do you think about an occult static team? Like an all dark and fire, maybe? I know another player is running one and has floated the idea of possible static occult team vs. static occult team pvp events. Lots of merit to that idea I think! -

@Angie - no worries on that score! It was new, but useful, info for me, and now others can see it too. I didn't take it personally, however. I'm thicker skinned than that.

Guess Cherry and I were typing away at the same time. So....what she said.

As far as channels go, BMT, and CU are the biggies. So big in fact that SGs are nearly obsolete on Champion. The whole server is sort of a big SG. Getting an invite for these channels is pretty easy (unless they're full). I'm sure someone here will fire you off an invite when you're in-game.
Other good channels include DarkGuard Network (not for the faint of heart); Hammer Nation and so forth.
As far as being new, there's no advice needed. All the channels mentioned above are great for getting oriented to new content and their members have a collectively encyclopedic knowledge of the game.
Root about on the forum as well; there are lots of weekly events including
+Hami Raids
+Mothership raids
+PvP kickball on Saturdays
+Lords of War (all guns and bows) teams on Fridays
+Hellfire Club (all occult toons on Wednesdays)
+Warriors Club (all melee weapons on Saturdays)
+ and lots more...
All of this gets listed on the Champion Events Calendar, which will help you plan your weekIn fact, starting your own event is a piece of cake as well, and the Champ community will help out with promotion by adding it to the calendar. In the past there have been GM hunts, Accolade hunts, Oro mish nights and so forth.
Just dive in and have some fun! You'll find out why we call this the Community Server.*
*or GTFO. -
Meeting place for tonight's event will be the train station in Croatoa.

Quote:Really? I've never heard of this convention before, but fairly, it makes sense. I'll just bring 50s in the future (as in the past). Still, getting 6 bubs at level 49 that quickly was nice.yes PLEASE, in the interest of fairness, bring 50's to the raid. I'll give you multiple reasons and you can pick yours or whatever.
1. Having a lvl 50 gives you shard drops. If you bring a NON-50 you are not only missing out but you are also taking the potential spot of a lvl 50 that is in need of said shards.
2. If for some reason I need to get a new team leader, and it sometimes happens as this last raid will show you, I cannot rely on you and, there again, you are taking the spot of a lvl 50 that would have been beneficial to the team and the raid.
...yeah that's all I could come up with for the moment. Those are the reasons I bring 50's
So you only get those choices.
Level on teams and on missions. Be at your maximum best at raids. -
that Hami Raid was a lot of fun. I've always done them on 50s before, but there's great xp in Hamis for high level almost-50s.
Thanks for leading the raid, Angie. Looking forward to many more! -
Yes Sir, it qualifies! And you know you're always welcome to come run about, regardless of which day it is!
