I'll throw my hat in, too. Currently laid-off, so whenever is fine. Global is @Shawn Sage. Least I can do in return for your wonderful archery guide.

Just to go off on a bit of a tangent, if you think getting these Day Job badges is hard....
...go get a Blood Parrot instead.

My roommate did this, and I plan on it too. Pirate guild, don'tcha know. -

Didn't the announcement say that it was only for mob kills?

In addition to all of the Day Jobs, every character is "On Patrol" after they log out of the game. When players log back into Paragon City or the Rogue Isles they will gain 1 bar of double experience (when defeating enemies) for every 24 hours they are logged out. A player can earn up to 10 bars of double experience this way. Double experience is shown as a blue portion of your experience bar. One thing to note is that if a player has any experience debt, the debt will be removed first before any double experience is applied.

Bolded part relevant.

That's one possible interpretation, but it might also be shorthand for "when doing any activity that would normally award XP". i.e. "to clarify, you do not get free XP from this, but rather the XP you would normally earn is now doubled for the duration".
[/ QUOTE ]
It actually seems pretty explicit to me. And, if indeed it is modeled after WoW's rested xp, you only get double for mob kills. Quest xp isn't increased.
On the subject of farming mission drops (for xp and/or Day Job bonuses), is it really possible to make any kind of significant headway by dropping one mission every 3 days? -

Also, I'm pretty sure the system doesn't remove debt before the rested xp starts accumulating. I think you have to work off debt (at the normal rate) before you get double xp. Work through the red bar, before getting to the blue. -

Another thing.... just keep all your toons logged off for 3 days... call your contact or whatever, drop your mission and get double xp! lol
[/ QUOTE ]
Ugh, even I didn't think about that. I personally detest the way players use that "feature". It was meant to bypass buggy missions so you wouldn't have to call a GM to fix things. It was NOT meant for risk free xp on lesser played characters.

It's not exactly hard, even if you play every day, to rack up lots of time on your alts. The way I see it, "patrol time" just meant it's a helluvalot easier to level alts.

I'm curious...what MMOs put your xp on a cooldown to encourage alts? I've seen that bandied about in this thread, and can't think of any that I've tried that do it. (Which doesn't mean there isn't one; I'd honestly like to know which do.)
As for Day Jobs...I'll also agree with Venture about limiting the number of jobs a character can have.
Each character should only be able to have one job, perhaps two if they're related. You're a (pulling generic jobs out of my butt) Banker and Politician? Want to be a Firefighter? Well, okay...but you gotta stop being a Banker or Politician. Once the dropped job's temp powers and buffs run out, that's it. This could work well with Turg's idea for one badge, many skins, or even locking each character into their jobs forever, if badges are kept individual.
My way, I'd lock professions to a character forever, or place a time limit on how long you have to wait before changing it (not adding another...replacing it). That would make this truly a role-playing feature, and not another outlet for "pokiemanz" catching. -
Entropy watched gleefully as Amora slammed into the tree she was perching in. The sheer amount of chaos in this place was intoxicating! It was high time she got a taste.
As she dropped lightly from the tree, she reconfigured her left arm into an energy cannon. Entropy landed in a crouch behind and to the left of Amora, with her cannon pointing up at her, and with a maniacal grin on her face.
"Hello, darling!"
((Would have been longer, but not sure exactly how Amora would react. Also, waiting on some of Burning's 'entertainment' and 'motivation' for Warbound...the bigger the better.))

"I don't think I'm ready, Brandy," complained Scratch as she paced the large white room.
"Hush. You're more than ready, and you know it. You're just scared," admonished the short, busty blond, leaning back in her chair.
Scratch Kitty turned abruptly to face Brandy, her eyes flashing yellow and a growl building in her throat. "I'm not--!" She whirled around, away from her friend, to hide the sudden tears. "I'm terrified," she whispered.
Brandy stood and hugged the tall, slender redhead. "I know, and it's okay," she said soothingly. "But you're never going to beat this unless you take some chances. Remember, I'll be with you the entire time."
Scratch glanced around the "room" they occupied. Her eyes were drawn uncontrollably to a dark spot in the midst of the endless white. She shuddered. While the darkness was seemingly far, far away, Scratch knew the truth; it was as close as her own heart. Still, she knew Brandy was right.
"Okay," she whispered. "Let's go."
************************************************
Glowing golden eyes opened in the shadows of the trees, reflecting the spreading light from the rising sun. Gracefully she moved from tree to tree, covering the distance from the outskirts of the Clinic's grounds to within sight of the main building in mere minutes. At the sight of people, an involuntary growl rose in her throat, but she viciously repressed it.
I told you I'm not ready, Brandy!
You are. Just find your peace, like I've taught you. Remember, I'm here with you.
Scratch took a deep breath and steadied her thoughts. Her peace pulsed white, pure light, calming her. As always, at the very edge of the white, lay the darkness she could never completely avoid. I'll never let what happened to you happen to anyone else ever again, Brandy, she thought to herself. I'll die myself first.
((OOC: The orange is Scratch's mental communication with Brandy, while the regular white is her private thoughts. The pink is Brandy's communication with Scratch. If the colors are too hard to make out, let me know, and I'll change things around while I can edit this.))

Entropy watched from above as the girl fired dark energy at her attacker. She had avoided any encounters thus far by sticking to the trees and having her nanobots keep her cloaked, but it seemed she would have to take action now. She couldn't pass up this chance to assimilate the tech the attacker was obviously packing; who knew when she'd get a shot at any more?
She watched the exchange of blasts, awaiting her chance. What to do about the girl? There was something about her that mirrored Entropy's own dark psyche; she could be a valuable ally, or a brutal enemy. Decisions, decisions... She hadn't had this much fun in a long time...

The undead came at him in waves. Dozens, scores of zombies and skeletons fell before him as he trudged through gore-splattered snow and bitter cold wind. Sword, axe, and mace alike were stained with blood and gore. His arms swung his weapons tirelessly, decimating the minor undead that besieged him; his eyes, however, never wavered from his goal.
The tower.
The man known as Warbound walked on. He could feel his rage building with each step, knew it was coming from some kind of spell. He didn't care. Woe to any who get between him and his goal. -

Oh, god, don't remind me. All the whines of 'but my character CONCEPT is zephyr-poet! I SHOULD have my sacred weapon at all times!'

It says RIGHT in the description of Herdion College Composers that ALL forms of liter-fic expression REQUIRE the insperation provided by the sacred impliment of insperation.
For Zephyr-poets it happens to be the hammer.
It is totaly unrealistic that he can only have the hammer available only after Delta-18 and then you have to wait to slot it so you can only have it even HALF the time at Delta-33.
Lets have some semblance of realism here people.

You have the right idea. I'd give you stars, but they were nerfed because they were overpowered. -

What, you have a problem with concept? Some concepts can be considered "overpowered", sure, but most are gimp. I don't see you championing any buffs for people who totally ignore the KYN stat because their character is naturally inclined towards gyro-hockey. -

It's the last straw for me. Farming Mancusans was the only decently fast way to raise my TRN stat, and I don't want to have to keep redoing those mind-numbing Conax missions to get them. So, I'm officially quitting. Goodbye, all.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh come on, don't tell me that you think TRN isn't overpowered? The Dev's are concerned about fluxion balace in the upcoming PvPvF update, and are fully aware of how overpowering an early TRN grafted Graver is. I guess they could look away for PvL play, but when other symbiotes are involved, it is a different story.
It is people like you who keep abusing exploits like the Mancusan-knid bug, the Devonian air hammer temporary grafting, and other things that causes the Devs to react in a way that impacts the rest of us.
I bet you had a */insular Soma when the Resonance power had a -150% attenuate value instead of -15%.
Good riddance, and can I have your stuff?
[/ QUOTE ]
You know what, it's whiners like you who make the devs nerf everything. If I want to have TRN grafted by level 6 Omega, then what does it matter? If you don't like fighting Gravers with it, then stay out of the Stadium. It's how I have fun, and I'm tired of you and people like you telling me I can't have fun my way. -
No. I'm giving it away as a prize in the "Farewell Quickblade" costume contest I'm holding under the Veslan holo-statue when my billing cycle ends. Sorry.

Actually this is a bug. Mancusans are only supposed to spawn in Telenphier Conax missions. It will be resolved in the next server fission.

On Victory server, the stunning Scratch Kitty!
In her civvies...
Her feral feline form, usually triggered by a Warwolf's presence...
Her brand new "superhero" outfit...
A better view of her cape...
And there you have it! (I won't crash the boards by putting up a screenie of every costume she's had in her 25 levels...I don't have all day, after all!)
