So far there's probably nothing of importance I've missed that won't repeat itself so I can document it again. I just need to figure out how to get it to work right. I just wish I had a screen shot of the original number of offers before I began trying to clear them out.

I'm going to use Yomo_Kimyata's definitions from here out. I meant to say that there were approximately 2700 offers out when I started, and I snatched up about 1400 of them with bids under 3000 inf. There were between 1200 and 1300 left after the first night. The number has been dwindling since then as genuine bidders buy out the more expensive stuff. Meanwhile, I clear out all the low offers.

That's fine with me. I've been filling up my buy slots with offers under the vendor price. So far I've carried over 200 of them over to the vendor to make room to set up more low offers.

The 3000 is not less than the vendor price. The vendor price is 1000. I just did that as a one time thing to clear them out, and I post short-lived bids at that price when I log on just to make sure they're still cleared out. All my standing bids are much lower than 1k.

I agree. This is actually the best solution. I started a second experiment seeing if that would work, and it did work very well. I have a toon assigned to buy human blood samples at 1000 and sell them at 20,000. It's not a huge profit for me, but it prevents anyone else from being able to raise the price above 20,000. I'd set it even lower, but I'm mostly just trying to safeguard the price so it doesn't reach absurd levels like 200,000 like it's been doing from time to time over the last few weeks.

If everyone who's feeling civic minded would choose a type of salvage, and assign a toon to safeguarding it, the problem I'm all concerned about would probably go away. I still find I've made about a million inf every time I log onto that toon. It's small potatoes, but I'm certainly not losing money.
No one will ever control anything in the market. Prices will do what they will. Have fun trying though.
  3. You can always run some AE missions, you don't have to repeat the same one, and use your tickets for random rolls of common salvage and purchase the exact uncommon and rare salvage that you want.

Edit: disregard as i missed the comment about you using AE already.

Sorry. I had to let my account lapse for now, so I started a trial so I could still post. I'll probably be doing this for a little bit til things work out for me.

PS - Always good to get a "PRO TIP" from someone registered on the forum March 2011 with 5 posts under their belt LOL
As for you Blue, I'll let this go for now. Do not let anyones forum join date fool you as to how long they have been playing or participating on the forums. as for the rest of what you said, if you have limited play time then placing a bid and actually playing the game then coming back to collect makes perfect sense.

When you only have a limited time to play, its worth it for me not to wait 4 minutes until my bid of 2000 is accepted
Pro tip: sometimes you have to wait more then 10 secs for a bid to fill. Go do a mish or 2 and come back to collect.

...Bottom line - it is a decent amount of work to get accolade powers and shards and badges and such. Rolling a new toon just to switch from katana/willpower to dual blades/willpower seems a bit silly to me. But I would certainly love to re-invent a couple of toons given the opportunity.
Bottom line: you do realize that some power sets in the AT's play completely differently? This is something the devs have been against since the beginning. It goes against the core of the game, creating alts. It really isn't all that hard to get the accolades and badges. Another lame duck example of why people want this.

I gave you my reasoning/opinions for why I would like to see a power respec. You and a few other individuals gave your reasons/opinions on the matter (and like to stress that the developers stance on the matter).
I even gave a preemptive 'I'm sure I'm coming across as being defensive' spiel, but you seemingly bypassed it as you did with your #3 point.

Are you just trying to make me upset? Just let it be, let somebody suggest the idea again - and you and whoever else can go right ahead and reply like you have again. That might just very well prove that there are, in fact, people that wish for a power respec to happen.
But do yourself and others a favor: Get rid of the attitude, it's unwarranted. We get it, you agree with the developers that a power respec should not and will not happen - that doesn't mean that other people can't still ask for it.
This is why there is a search feature. So that people can search for things and see the many discussions that have taken place about a given subject. This way, people won't have to keep asking for the same thing that won't happen.

If we're suppose to roll a new alt when we get to max level, then ease of leveling verses performance at 50 isn't a valid balance point.
Do us a favor and go back and re-read what Claws wrote until you understand it. It has nothing to do with performance at 50. What Claws wrote was about the journey to 50. You could take one set that levels quickly to begin with and then when it gets tougher later on, switch to another set that doesnt suck leveling at higher levels to 50. Then, when you get to 50, switch at almost anytime you want to any other combo's of powers without rolling an alt. Can you say barren low level content?

Just limit the power set respec to either a secondary or a primary respec, not bothm and they can only choose to do one or the other.

Beef, I hope that was a bad attempt at sarcasm.

If not, you obviously missed a few things like:

    Quote:
the devs have flat out told us that they will never allow powerset respecs.
and this is one of the reasons why they said no:

    Quote:
Also, there are a number of sets that start out good and taper off in high levels, while there are other sets that struggle early and turn into powerhouses later.

Imagine, if you will, leveling as a Fire/Regen scrapper, which levels very quickly, without much downtime in the early game.

If the OP got his wish you would then be able to respec into being an Electric/Shield scrapper, which struggles early but gets stupidly powerful at high levels.

You'd get to have your cakewalk and eat it too, which is something the devs have mentioned repeatedly that they don't want happening. Their other reasoning is that it undoes a lot of work they did trying to make the game alt-friendly, if you can level 1 character to 50 and respec it whenever you want to play a different powerset, there would be no need to roll more characters.
That goes for one/both of the power sets.
