  1. Just a quickie question to double-check myself: Does the Cardiac Alpha slot increase the effects of damage resistance debuff powers?

    Thanks in advance!
  2. I have both a spines/sr and EM/regen stalker that I pvp with.
You do not need fitness nor the fighting pool as a stalker, I would swap those out for Leaping to get CJ and SJ, and also take the Leadership pool for maneuvers/assault and tactics. The choice between assault and maneuvers is up to you, maneuvers is good as an LOTG and Kismet mule, but you definitely need tactics for the extra perception. With just a Perception IO, you will still be unable to see a good portion of the hero population.

As for slotting, I can't load Mid's at work, but I would look into slotting impale with 3 dam/rng HOs, two Acc IOs and maybe the chance for hold Deva proc(or other proc of your choice). That's what I've used in my spines stalker ever since the Impale range nerf and it works well. If you have the slots, one or two range IOs in placate can be useful as well.

I guess I can share it with you guys. Basically I'm a big fan of range, so instead of slotting my 2 attacks (flares+blast) with IO's I slot them with HO's. Currently I got them both slotted like this:
    1 acc/dmg HO, 2 dmg/rng HO, 2 acc SO, 1 proc

I guess I COULD drop 1 dmg/rng HO, but I really don't wanna lose my range. Unless someone tells me that DR makes my slotting useless, when boost range is considered.
Could someone with knowledge of the range DR curve respond to this? I slot my psi/em blaster's main attacks with 3 rng/dam HOs, 2 Acc IOs, and a proc. Adding in Boost Range, is this just overkill after DR is applied?

PS, sorry to derail your thread, OP.
  6. Does anyone know how often Procs placed in Radiation Infection will check to fire?

    Thanks in advance!
  7. You are a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks again!
  8. Does anyone have a link to a table that lists the XP modifiers for each mob type? I remember someone posting one a couple of years back but I can't seem to find it now.
    Thanks in advance!
  9. Rent is paid up, I went to Atlas to check. The combo unit is in an Oversight Center, the Basic Generator I tried was in an Energy Terminal.
  10. TIA to anyone who can help me figure out this problem.

I'm constructing my first base, and I can't get the power and control items to function. I can place a basic generator or Combo Power and Control unit, but they do not register as generating any power or control, and when I click on them(not in base-edit mode) the target window says they are "Unpowered." I'm probably missing some key detail to turn them on, but I can''t seem to find it.

If anyone can clue me in I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I then hit POWER BOOST (Epic Power) which ups my base to 657.9

Power Boost does not increase damage. Try again.

See, we need a new law to match Godwin's law.

any argument which winds up quoting, in whole or in part, wikipedia's 'logical fallacies' page or any page of a similar nature in a different resource is automatically lost by the poster quoting said resource.

It is alright to mention that something is an 'ad hominem' or 'moving the goalposts' argument, but defining it bespeaks an arrogance that proves that the arguer has nothing really to say about the argument itself, and is simply attempting to wave their 'intellectual superiority' e-peen.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To be honest, when she started rebutting all the arguments via Wiki copy/paste, I thought to myself "Wow, this is just like my high school debating days." Back then it was also popular to mask the lack of an actual argument by referencing one of these fallacies and hoping the judge was stupid enough not to notice the sidestepping.
  13. Hehe, I beat ya to it Frost! That was exactly the kind of response I was attempting to elicit from her, tho.

If that's the best you monkeys can come up with, you're boring the hell out of me.

All you've done is convinced me that a) I'm more mature than you are and b) I'm a damned sight smarter than you are.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I can copy/paste from Wiki too!

Ad Hominem: Translated from Latin to English, "Ad Hominem" means "against the man" or "against the person." An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument. This type of "argument" has the following form:

    1. Person A makes Claim C.
    2. Person B makes an attack on person A rather than on Claim C.
    3. Therefore Claim C is false.

The reason why an Ad Hominem is a fallacy is that the character, circumstances, or actions of a person do not have a bearing on the truth or falsity of the claim being made (or the quality of the argument being made).

The humor boggles the mind. That anyone could consider disagreement and pointing out the obvious flaws in a position, especially when that position is little more than "I don't like it make them stop" as tossing feces.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tu quoque ad hominem: Otherwise known as the "you too" fallacy, a Tu quoque ad hominem is committed when it is concluded that a person's claim is false because 1) it is inconsistent with something else a person has said or 2) what a person says is inconsistent with her actions. This type of "argument" has the following form:

    1. Person A makes claim X.
    2. Person B asserts that A's actions or past claims are inconsistent with the truth of claim X.
    3. Therefore X is false.

The fact that a person makes inconsistent claims does not make any particular claim he makes false. Also, the fact that a person's claims are not consistent with his actions might indicate that the person is a hypocrite but this does not prove his claims are false.

Another poster beat me to it in another thread, but oh well.

    2. (of a leaf shape) rounded at the apex

  16. PMed Castle on this issue, just copying the PM so as to add the bug to this thread:
"Hey Castle! I couldn't find this issue in either the Known Issues or I14 Bug Thread, thought I'd PM you about it. The long and short is, SG Base Buff Temp Powers seem to have no effect. I didn't test them all, but I regularly use the Grant Invis, Increased Recharge Speed, and Knockback Increase. Before I14, the buffs from these powers would appear in the Combat Attributes window, and in Real Numbers. Afterwards, these buffs do not appear in these windows. It doesn't seem to an issue of these bonuses just not appearing, I can confirm that the Recharge Speed buff doesn't increase global recharge at all, by testing via my PermaDom(who used to not need hasten to keep Dom with the Recharge buff in I13)."
