  1. Just wanted to thank and congratulate everyone who participated in tonight's TPN. I really appreciate people going out on a limb with a method that they hadn't tried before. While it's not as smooth or fast as the MoTPN style, I could definitely see it being easier for a PuG to complete on a regular basis, because it's such a simplistic method in line with the run and smash style of the rest of the game. The trial was surprisingly fun, although that may just be because I never got repeatedly killed by civilians with rocks. I'm still not sure exactly how Marked for Death is negated, but we seemed to just power through anyway, which could be said for the whole approach to the trial.
  2. What time does yours usually run, MP? I've been on some other trial runs with you, but never a TPN. And yes, the guide would be a tremendous help, as I am, how do the kids put it these days, a noob sausage.

Re: MoTPN: Last time we tried for that, we were sunk because [people had no idea which building to enter when. Given that experience, I'll just take a successful complete at this point.
  3. I've noticed that not very many people seem to be interested in running TPN, an that when I ask about interest, I get a reaction that I would expect if I asked to shower Paragon City in a hail of raisins or something equally outlandish. Figured I'd post and see if there were enough people interested to run a TPN at 7:30PM Eastern on Monday, 16th January. As I understand it, the predominant strategy is to ignore telepathists and blitz terminals during the last phases, but I'd be interested in hearing how people have succeeded in the past.

    So: Monday, January 16
    7:30 PM EST

  4. I'll be there for the TPN, if only in an attempt to show that the trial itself, regardless of Mo attempt, can be completed, and that there's no need to continuously do the snoozefest BAF and Lambda only

Please note that the odd formatting is just due to me transcribing this from the command line into a board post.

Regarding torrents or peer-to-peer software, there's none of it currently running on my machine as far as I know. Thank you all once again for viewing and taking the time to offer your corroborative evidence and suggestions.
  6. First, thanks to all who responded. I really appreciate you taking the time to try and help.

Second, I ran /netgraph and here are the results, when I didn't see any massive lag in the course of play. Ping was usually somewhere around 150-200, more toward the middle of that range in the 170s. Sent packets were in the 700-800 range and received generally between 2300 and 2400. Looking at the actual graph, I saw tiny red spikes intermittently, once every few seconds or so (maybe 5-8 seconds there would be a red bar, sometimes more often.

What caught my eye, other than the few missing packets and the flat 0's I got for stats when mapserved, was a large chunk of red, maybe 10-12 seconds worth, that showed on the netgraph after I zoned into a mission.

Once the mission began, the pattern described above resumed, and no amount of enemies or effects seemed to change it significantly. (It seemed like there was a slight increase when I fought a master illusionist, but that may just be my frustration at the foe coloring my perception.

Oh and I did try /unloadgfx and /sync but since I only tried once with that, I don't want to discount that as a solution just yet

Thanks again, and hope this helps.
  7. Recently I've been having some issues running City of Heroes. I can't produce the same conditions all the time, but I'll often get rubberbanding (I think that's what its called) where for example, I'll be running down corridor A, turn corner B to engage enemy C, and then find myself back at the beginning of corridor A. I've also seen a serious lag between my clicking on a power and its execution, often as much as 5-10 seconds. Mapserver disconnects seem to be becoming increasingly common as well.

It's gotten to the point where I mapservered 5 times just trying to run a new defender through Precinct 5. In hopes that it might be helpful, here's my CoHelper chunk. Thanks, and apologies if this is a frequent issue, I poked around a bit but didn't see anything that sounded like all these problems.
