Well, I decided on what to do... The tank has since been respec'd, and hit 50. I was easily solo'ing +1/x4 Carnies with no Fitness pool. We shall see how it handles other things soon. For now, though, it's almost 5AM, and I need to get up in about 4 hours. Build is below, which matches the current in-game build, with two exceptions. One, I haven't picked up the two IO's for Salt Crystals (which, by the way, will give me another 4% Recovery, helping the non-Stamina tanking even more. Hehe), because they are much more expensive than I had expected. Two, as usual, I managed to screw up *something* with the in-game respec, and forgot to pick Hasten until 49, and hence used the slots meant for Hasten on other powers. The slots from 50 are reserved for Health/Stamina once I19 hits, so Hasten will just have to survive with only one slot. lol

I notice you left out Stalkers on the list of required melee-types. I'm going to assume that's because you're one of the people that thinks they suck. Hence, my list is as follows:
1 - Peacebringer
2 - Broadsword/Ninjitsu Stalker (Broadsword for the damage, Ninjitsu for the extra Placate or two (more assassin's strikes), and entirely positional defense)
3 - Claws/Electric Brute (fast damage with the claws, fair resistance with a recharge bonus, self heal, and endurance recovery)
4 - Fire/Shield Scrapper (damage, damage, damage, and team buffs)
5 - Fire/Kinetics Corruptor (because they're freaking awesome)
6 - Sonic/Kinetics Defender (decent damage, debuffs, and the obvious Kinetics buffs)
7 - Earth/Earth Dominator (decent damage, extra -Defense, control)
8 - Rad/Fire Blaster (-Defense, and a ton of AoE damage)
This puts your PB in Dwarf form at roughly 5% OVER the resistance cap, slot it for a bit of defense, you have no shortage of damage with the Stalker, Scrapper, Brute, Corruptor, Defender, Dominator, and Blaster all being at the damage bonus cap, you have both -Defense and -Resistance between the Blaster, Dominator, and Defender, you should have plenty of heals between the Defender and Corruptor. To throw in a random note:
Quote:I'd have to agree with that. >.>Originally Posted by Dechs KaisonBut I still prefer almost anything over a scrapper.
Back to the team, though... You have control, more than enough damage, the Brute can be the backup aggro control for the PB, plenty of buffs and debuffs... You should be able to steamroll it.
Now... Ignoring your rules about AT's... I am seriously considering putting up a topic to try to form a static team for this...
1 - Anything/Willpower Brute
2-8 - Anything/Pain Masterminds
I haven't done the math to see what the health regen on the Brute would be with Suppress Pain stacked 7 times, but... I think there's a cap somewhere. -
Quote:I know this. I do about 10K damage to Babbage before his regen catches back up and all progress is lost. lolTo defeat those things, you're going to need high-strength -regen. Such entities have so many base HP and sufficiently high regen that you need over 300 damage per second just to break even with their HP regen rate. Your main soloers for such entities are all ATs like Corrs, Defenders, Controllers and MMs, who all have powersets with -Regen debuffs in the 1500% or higher category, some of which can be made permanent and stackable.
Such immense debuff percentages are needed because GMs and AVs have extremely high resistance to the effect, especially for high-level critters. (Even critters with no displayed level actually have a level. For GMs it's usually around the upper end of the zone in which they spawn.)
If they would reduce the cast times for powers, I could do more... >.> -
If you want to solo a Corruptor (or Defender, for that matter), I am of the opinion that Kinetics is the only option for secondary (or primary, as appropriate). I have a 50 Kinetics/Dark Defender, and a Fire/Kinetics Corruptor sitting at 30-something. Both of them are awesome in their own way.
My Kinetics/Dark, even with my horrible IO'ing skills, has successfully brought a solo fight with:
Adamastor
Jurassik
Babbage
Clockwork Paladin
Eochai
Jack-In-Irons
Devouring Earth Monsters (the ones on the islands north of PI)
And I forget who else, to a total standstill. They can't kill me, I can't kill them. Maybe I could kill them if I didn't suck at IO'ing. >.> I tried to take out Chimera, but he(she? I forget) does too much damage per hit for Transfusion/Siphon Life to keep up.
From what I can tell so far, Fire/Kinetics (still speaking of Corruptors, mind you, not Controllers!) is possibly unmatched in it's ability to destroy large spawns. And I don't even have Inferno or Fulcrum Shift yet, and haven't even considered IO's at this point. It needs a little bit of support at the lower levels to contain the aggro from what you DIDN'T defeat between Fire Breath, Fire Ball, and Rain of Fire, but... Hey, you can't be perfect at the low levels.

Sorry for the slow reply, it decided to not email me to let me know there were replies. Finduilas, you're awesome! That's the kind of feedback I was looking for. :D
A few questions/comments regarding your reply:
Hover/Combat Jumping/Maneuvers - I picked Hover because as you may have noticed, I have no travel power, and occasionally there are places Ninja Run won't get me. It also comes in handy for tanking purposes sometimes. Would dropping Maneuvers and taking Combat Jumping while keeping Hover be a good idea?
Perfect Zinger - I'd have to look at my builds again, but I thought I slotted Mocking Beratement. I must've been smoking something. >.> Obliteration, I'm working on getting for the Shield/Dark build. It's slow going. :) (Edit: I checked the Shield/Dark build, and I *did* slot Taunt with Perfect Zinger, not Mocking Beratement. D'oh!)
Steadfast +Def - May be doable, depending on how the rest of the build works out. I'll see about getting that one.
True Grit - What do you think of slotting a fourth Numina's, but keeping the Aegis +Psi/Status and Resistance, rather than using basic IO's?
Against All Odds - You clearly haven't seen me tank. ;) I *do* have my reasons for slotting for Taunt Duration. Unconventional, yes. Does it work? Oh, yes! However, I could swap the basic IO for a Taunt/End IO? It doesn't cost THAT much endurance to run, though I see your point.
Soul Drain/Dark Consumption - Not really sure what to do, here. I honestly need Dark Consumption to be up as often as possible for solo. It's much less important when on teams. Soul Drain... It gets used as an attack when solo, but more of a secondary taunt when teaming. I was in debate as to how to slot them both.
Focused Accuracy - I wanted to do for the Shield/Dark what I did for the Shield/BA (6-slot Gaussian's for the set bonuses, especially the defense), but ran out of slots. Your other suggestions might help me fix this. I'll work on a re-build soon, and see what happens. I'm trying to find a better way to get the Perception bonus, but haven't thought of anything yet. Suggestions?
Multi-Strike/Scirocco's/Shield Charge - If I'm successful in getting a full set of Obliteration, I was planning on putting it in Shield Charge, which (with my current build with all the Red Fortunes and whatnot) gets Shield Charge down to 41.9 seconds, as opposed to 50-something. Thoughts?
As for the build you posted (which is much appreciated, by the way), that brings me to a question I've asked in-game before, and can never get a straight answer. Is it worth it to slot a lower level set that has better set bonuses (IE: Reactive Armor in Tough), or should I concentrate on getting the most out of the set first, and then worry about which set in the appropriate level range has the most useful bonuses? I hate to gimp my main powers by using a lower level set, but sometimes, it seems like it would be better to use a lower set with better bonuses.
Again, thanks for the reply, it's been very helpful!
Edit: I did a rebuild tonight, any thoughts? As far as acquiring the enhancements themselves, this should be more or less doable, if my patience holds out. :) I'm actually considering just ditching the Shield/BA and going with just the Shield/Dark, sell the enhancements on the Shield/BA, and transfer all the influence.

Code:I still have three slots left (two for Stamina, one for health. I'd be slotting Health with Numina's Heal and +Recovery/Regen, Stamina would get basic IO's), am well above most of the suggested defense numbers, got four slots in my main attacks, and accounting for Stamina, endurance shouldn't be a *huge* problem, allowing for Dark Consumption when available. And I'm not falling asleep, so I THINK I slotted everything with the sets I intended to... >.> I still haven't decided how to slot Soul Drain, so I kept three slots of Adjusted Targeting, simply for the set bonuses, and it gives a fair recharge on the power itself (I'd like it to be closer to the recharge on Shield Charge, but I don't see that being possible). And I can't bring myself to give up the set bonuses for Dark Consumption either. Aside from that, I'm open to any other suggestions anyone may have.| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1384;692;1384;HEX;| |78DA9D93E94E135114C7CF74B1742F96B62C6DB10584B28C34D1C4E5838916046D1| |505FD84925A2EB4766C495B15BEF900B83D80D1C4FD118CEFE2631817603CCB85A4| |F19B9399FFEFCE9933E79C7BCFBDA5ED4200E0E945300297AD72BBBDB6526ED455C| |BB7A22AD546D36A6EEE80070052625E2BA80DD5682B73B95A53D6FAE16B427F2D29| |4B29B3506ED565D8BBD8A8AA966A74CCC34170A9D9B4CCF9DA66B5536B6CFAE5CDA| |2571F8F97B7945A0FF0B0A8CA5BE89398DBAA55CC4BAD471DB5562A5748DA1DD5DA| |E9C7AA72F8148228063E60BBA10707E3E07009DC0C97477006918763A7193FBCA02| |FDB09454416464A8CDC75C6CC0DC61C463724BACBF049043FA3272808317C61C63C| |BA3BB5BBF3369B023705CB8C501C918250827105DDDDE2EE704F013944BAB0800E1| |ECE6F8327CFA65F58B9146FBBBD5507998ED7040F187D7581C5883F642C6220BF0E| |E44F73A09F1825A89720F8984D23DB8CDC0E63F209E337FA8575C270D4C941FB18F| |D31419C319810F433AE62E85E991AF4663890811B29AA1346BBD67C52D67C52D6DC| |897E31F9D519CB72F3C6D38261462EA31B0B90D07E096943525A949416A5A545D7B| |094013D81813FBC1CE93DC6897DC181C066648027B087D31EE28D653B86DEE2973E| |C8BC11BC6378317D4A372F251B6F5A36DEB46CBC2C3A0C4B5EC7B0F473B40BFB5E9| |A2EA770677739F9E833C6C9E7829782178CF157D2510C3B26798D31C93B230957B1| |F00949081392E23B1EEE297D3AA6DEF3FF331F18A73E0A3E093E33F25F18075898A| |92B37AB1C28BF21A8318AB8A4B33AD3EC349B92AEA31385375E50FCC7B2E4D24715| |2D065B72AEA3D36B7B23404B0FE2FC5FD7D7C0614AEF2D1FEA0AC912C91D925592B| |B24F748CA24F7492A24F6B7A3BFC367A9AE7324E7492E90C4B03ED8254F8F1FC54F| |122009928448C224119228C920C96B12FB2F477BEFD5| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|

In my glee at being able to take the villain EPP's, I didn't notice the fact that none of them really benefit me all that much until *after* I finished the patron arc, respeced, and started buying IO's. So, I'm playing with a new build. This one is taking I19's inherent Stamina/Health into account, which allowed me to throw Maneuvers and another attack or two in. The main purpose of this build is herding large mobs for large teams and holding the aggro, while still doing fair damage. Frequently on TF's, mainly ITF. When I solo/small teams, I usually run something like +2/x4-6.

Rather than starting a second topic, I figured I'd also throw in a build for my next tank, which is currently sitting at 40-something. I primarily use him for solo-ing (again, large mobs. He was solo'ing -1/x8 Nemesis missions without trouble, and he doesn't even have IO's) and TF's. Not so much for "normal" teams, though that may change by the time he hits 50. See the next post for the mids build. -
So, I just started on an Ill/Cold myself, and thought I'd take a look at Mids... This is what I came up with:

Code:I could theoretically swap Group Invisibility for Maneuvers and squeeze another 4% or so defense out of it, plus some more set bonuses, but I'm honestly not sure if it's even worth it. Phantom Army isn't perma, but it just so happens that I'll be without it for 28.8 seconds and if they drop while in combat (IE: AV fight or something), Hibernate just happens to last 30 seconds. Coincidence? I think not. I'll also be without Hasten for 29.8 seconds, but that just goes back to Hibernate, if I just CAN'T live without Hasten for 30 seconds. I'm open to suggestions, of course.| Copy & Paste this data into Mids' Hero Designer to view the build | |-------------------------------------------------------------------| |MxDz;1413;694;1388;HEX;| |78DA9D93594F13511886CF4C5B4A373AA554A050A0A508585BE89D4BA289A009094| |D880B576A53DB814E1C5AEC9444EFFC01B8FD0076972B236A8C31FE0D638CFA0BDC| |5030EA5DFD96D302F1CE49FB3E33EFBCDF37E79C3993B93EEE15E2E649A1686366C| |EB2B263E552B552364DBDE2C8E4668DBC700A21FA77DD7A2035619A0B96512ED58D| |DE3D99530B3333A9B1B259C88E97E78C52AE0AB9C044A9A857F45235553FF14E95A| |1CF19A35AD22DCBC317A6315BACBAE9FCDCBCAE17FC743AA9E70A7AC52A1AF3DAE9| |79239F9AC8EBD94CCEAAEA951B1D30BC61F8AF28421E35875802A485BA4CB0AF305| |609EE3582779D70D5D7A85244934D888848AB8455E8A7C87ECA1B152DF52DC1FB8E| |A0F14334EEDEC3FDD6A0C4C65536DB6F05ADA65F84C16DC2A11DC23AA843E61C739| |C33395024240DC21C8CCF2973CEC764356F329E70FC196103D4A5F0685D21B2DC6D| |84B046180E305A194182035A7BB84A7892340127583EB654DF054AB54C334E28386| |D1704FCB2C6FF47A0F5002E0372A9025B2A865BBF337E10A2DB84F80E61E427A119| |1A05E593827DF4F0B67DB80F3743DC560DF5907520B1171EE8D02E03EDEFA969C70| |7C647C243E8D029DF6E27D78419D7605DBB64695798ACEEC45EC4A077448E2EC256| |CF3E3C829BBD72D2BD9FC8EAFBCCF8C2F84A887E636C112AF0DC98AC8AF17EEB571| |876C673CAC55F305E122CA81AA0DD58730C2CD2D40EDE62DC66DC210CDE65DCE3C5| |87290CC9373514A54641B012729B249629757885B1CA582324D7191B844D18594A2| |E568A673F1267F09B7A0A8151B958A321DA2669DE7D69DE7DDDF6C667063F38C4E4| |3FCE94BDF1C109859CC86EA6E6D21A1FCCFF1EAFBCF576AEB36ED0F3285328D3281| |7512EA15C46C9A15C41C9A3D45E37AAFD47705C47518EA11C4709C1F8C422269D1E| |100F8A17C587D282E247D150822861942594DA5F308805B0| |-------------------------------------------------------------------|

(Mids build follows)
So, I've already run this build (basically the same, except swap Leadership for Presence, and don't take Hasten. lol) to 50 on an old account I no longer have access to, and am now in the process of rebuilding it. (I'm at 24 right now) I've respecced it so many times, it's not even funny. (Last count was 5 respecs on the old account, starting the first on this account) I want this to be the LAST respec. Right now, I'm pretty happy with what I have, except:
Vengeance - I'm thinking maybe swap this for Torrent or Assault, because my team rarely dies with me present. The KB from Torrent could be tactically useful. Assuming the damage bonus from Assault counts towards the standard defender damage bonus cap, Assault would be fairly worthless in most situations.
Dark Embrace - Armor is nice and all, but in my previous experience with this build, if I REALLY needed the armor, I'm basically screwed anyways, thus having the armor didn't really help that much. I could possibly swap this for Stealth, Inertial Reduction (which, with Siphon Speed, Ninja Run, and Teleport seems rather redundant to me), or Oppressive Gloom (which wasn't all THAT useful, although it did come in handy a few times).
Right now, I keep wanting to take Fitness (instead of Leadership) for Stamina, but in 10 or so levels, Stamina becomes unnecessary, and slotting for more endurance reductions until that point would basically take care of it.
That all said, can anyone provide any input?

<.<
>.>
You bring up a good question. I was thinking Wednesday night>Thursday morning? Either works for me. I'm up the same time no matter what day/night it is.
Anyone want to chime in? -
OK. We're sitting at 7 right now for Wednesdays between 1AM-4AM-ish?
Looks like we've got:
Electric/Dark Tank
Electric/Mental Blaster
Electric/Invuln Scrapper
Rad/Electric Defender
"Something Energy based, not sure yet"
"Thinking about Stone/Sonic troller, just need to figure out the costume"
and last, but not least, "Something with Dual Pistols, Probably a blaster, mayyyybe a Defender."
So, one more, and we'll be good to go. If we get the 8th person before Wednesday night comes around, plan on meeting in front of City Hall in AP around 1-1:30AM MST. If we don't get the 8th, we'll try for next week. I'll be trying to send out Global invites to everyone between now and then to aid coordination.
Edit: Looks like member 8 just got added, with a Traps/DP defender! If I somehow managed to not contact you ingame yet, send me a PM with your Global. -
Kin/Dark/Dark. Here's why:
Take everything except Repel and Inertial Reduction on the Kinetics side. Take everything except Moonbeam on the secondary. Night Fall and Torrent are optional, but Night Fall DOES come in handy, it being your only real AoE attack of any sort. Tenebrous Tentacles is technically optional, but comes in handy for keeping the stunned mobs (from Dark Pit and OG) bunched up. Take Hasten from the Speed pool (trust me, it will come in handy). Then take Oppressive Gloom, Dark Consumption, Soul Transfer, and Soul Drain. Or, if you prefer, swap Dark Consumption with Dark Embrace for slightly enhanced survivability, but if you REALLY need the armor, you're probably screwed anyways. With your other power choices, I'd either recommend taking Fitness (all but Hurdle), OR, something I've been experimenting with is taking the Presence pool, along with Recall Friend. (Plus Teleport, if you skipped one of the other powers on the secondary, like Torrent) But, I'm not *entirely* thrilled with Presence, so you might be better off with Fitness. Leadership is also an option, though I've yet to try it.
Slot Transfusion and Life Drain with Touch of the Nictus. Speed Boost with Performance Shifter, and Transference with Efficacy Adaptor (or vice versa, doesn't really matter a whole lot). Slot Blackstar with three recharge IO's, two damage, and one accuracy (or two accuracy, one damage. Take your pick.), Hasten with three recharge IO's. Also slot Soul Transfer with three recharges plus some heals and such. Take your pick on how to slot everything else.
At this point, you can solo nearly anything (I could almost solo Adamastor, and I didn't have Life Drain fully slotted yet. Same goes for Jurassik. You can solo pretty much any mission other than Save The World. I tried.), you have a nuke that will recharge in approximately 1:45, with near-blaster damage levels (not to mention the debuffs), that you can recover from instantly (keep a few blues handy. Pop one after you nuke, then use Transference/Dark Consumption. That should last you until you start recovering again, assuming something survived the nuke). If you opt for the Presence pool option, you can almost indefinitely incapacitate entire mobs (of LT level or lower) between Dark Pit, OG, and Invoke Panic, just in case the nuke isn't up yet.
The slotting of Speed Boost (And I've six-slotted Increase Density with Titanium Coating for giggles) will on it's own get any team to love you for life, and the epicness of Transfusion and Transference properly slotted (which is just as useful solo as it is for teams) is just icing on the cake. Add in a ton of debuffs (between the Kinetics debuffs, and ToHit debuff from Dark Blast), and major damage (as far as defenders are concerned), and you have an awesome team player that's easily soloable at the same time. You even get some light control, to boot!
<.<

This post got alot longer than I was planning on when I started... Send me a PM if you have any questions.I ran the above build for a very long time, and it's still my favorite character of all time. Alas, I lost my old account, and am now in the long process of rebuilding it to it's former glory. *sigh*
(Also, just as a footnote... FF/Energy seems to be fairly soloable and teamable, though I haven't gotten it to the higher levels yet.) -
I just sent out PM's to all that are interested, but right now, it looks like we have 6 so far. The only characters I know of are myself with an Electric/Dark tank, and Skitts with his blaster.
-
So far, based on responses, Wednesday looks like the best option. If we do that, it looks like we might be at a total of 6 people so far.
-
Alright, all you night owls, we are looking for five more members for a late-night static team. The details will be finalized when we have all 8 members, but right now, you can expect the following:
Play time between roughly 1AM-4AM MST M-F. (day has not been set, we'll see what works for everyone. Possibly more than one day.)
Level 4 or below only, please. (We'll make sure everyone is at 4 when we start the first mission, see below)
Tech origin is preferred, but not required, as this would eliminate Squids and such, and we like Squids.(Also, adding a PB/WS would allow us to do the Kheldian arc, so having one would be a plus.)
We are accepting all AT's except for tanks.
We will not be running the sewers. Street sweep until everyone is at 4, then the party starts!
There will be NO radio missions unless we somehow run out of story arcs/TF's in the teams current level range, which I find highly unlikely. We will be starting with missions from Rick Davies and move on from there, with TF's coming in when we get to the appropriate level. (IE: Run Posi when we hit 15, Synapse at 20, etc)
The goal is to do ALL of the story arcs and TF's, until we run out of available missions and hit 50. This will include all three respec trials.
We will also be fighting all of the GM's at some point, as well as getting all exploration badges, etc. There is no set plan for this, we'll just pick them up when we feel like it.
RP is fine, but not a requirement, so don't get disappointed if everyone doesn't join in.
The main reason for the team is to have fun, while ensuring that we complete every last story arc we can. With that said, I will have no problem kicking someone for being annoying or otherwise disrupting the team. XP leeches will also get kicked. Just saying.
